Best garden tool

Best garden tool I've ever owned. Makes trimming easy and fast. Hold cuttings with one hand and snip with tool in other hand. Easy one hand operation.

Good pruner. Wish it had linear trigger.

(1) A little heavier than I thought. (2) The handle is good for carrying. (3) It's good for cutting sideways and downward. I use it to cut branches in smaller pieces for curb pickup. Other "in-line" pruners are good for cutting upward which I don't do much. (4) As long as you press the trigger, it closes and stay closed. When you release the trigger, it opens. So, if you want to store it closed, then press to close and remove the battery. (5) Now, the trigger is not linear. If you press the trigger halfway, it doesn't close halfway. I wish it did, so that it would become true cordless version of manual pruner. Then, you don't have to worry about cutting your fingers off. Great Pruner and Cable cutter

I use this for outdoor limb and branch pruning and then I also use it for copper cat5/6 cable cutting. It cuts 1.5" limbs with ease. Smaller branches are no issue at all. I also use it for cutting 1.5 inch thick bundle of copper cables and larger for removal. It saves my hand and is fast and clean. The Pruner does get stuck once or twice a week but I just take the battery out and put it back in and I it goes back to working great. I probably did about 150 cuts before my 20V 2mah battery went dead

Great price for an electric pruner
25 February 2023

We have apple trees in our property. I had been looking at several brands of electric pruners; watched a lot of videos online. The industrial brand ones were way over priced. For the DeWalt price, I thought the risk was low. After some research I pulled the trigger and bought the DeWalt Cordless pruner. What usually takes me 6 days of work lapsed over a few weekends, a sore neck and back for that whole month; but DeWalt and I did it in one morning. The hand loppers and hand pull-saw I had been using are too cumbersome, especially when I’m up on a ladder. These electric pruners worked like a charm. The only downside, my wife knows I’m done with this chore. I’m gonna go home in the garage. Thank you DeWalt.

Heaven
29 July 2023

Country living has tons of challenges. Thanks to the Dewalt pruner getting rid of unwanted sunflowers and large weed is not one of them. I had been using a corded reciprocating saw. While it did the job my hands and wrist throbed in pain. I've always prefered corded tools to cordless. 20v 1/2" cordles pruners is the easiest and most productive tool I have in my garden arsnal. Battery usage is fantastic. Light enough for 60yo woman with arthitis. Cuts down the production time. The blades stayed sharp. What would have taken all day to do, was done in 2hr including 1 pickup load to the trash heap. I don't usually write reviews but this is truely amazing.

My favorite Dewalt battery powered outdoor tool
16 October 2022

I have a few of the 20v Dewalt battery powered outdoor tools, i.e. hedge trimmer, chainsaw, more, and I have used this one the most and it performs well. I have used it a lot on arborvitae and honeysuckle and it’s dramatically easier than manual tools. It will easily sever a 1 inch branch in a snap. I have one of those big plastic yard waste carts on wheels and as I fill it with trimmed branches I thrust thing into the pile and pull the trigger over and over and it slices the stuff up allowing it to compact so I can fit in more. Ultimately it’s a work multiplier and it consumes little battery power. Of course be very careful using this and always be aware of the location of your free hand. Best suited for cutting probably 3/8 inch branches and up (to its capacity) ... MoreI have a few of the 20v Dewalt battery powered outdoor tools, i.e. hedge trimmer, chainsaw, more, and I have used this one the most and it performs well. SNOW DAMAGED HEDGING CLEAN-UP
2 April 2023

Exceptional performance. The winter heavy snow & wind did significant damage caused almost 500ft of tall cedar & laurel hedging to bend over to near breaking point. These pruners are impressive indeed. Paired with a 3ah battery I was able to work continuously for several hours until I wore out (not the battery). Nice smooth cuts up to 1-1/2". The tool does stop on occasion (due to overwork perhaps) but I did notice that once the headlight goes out (less than a minute) the pruner functions fully again. **NEVER LEAVE THE TOOL UNATTENDED WITH THE BATTERY IN IT** People are amazed at the job this pruner does & will pick it up to check it out (see how it works) & mishandling could lead to very serious consequences.

This machine is no toy, it’s a beast. It slices through branches like butter. Be careful because you’ll lose your fingers if you aren’t paying attention!!

Watch you fingers!
2 October 2022

I bought one of these earlier this summer to prune root suckers off my plum tree. The get thick and many so can easily fatigue hands if using hand trimmers. I tried a recip saw but it wasn’t as clean of a job. I waited too long to get these from Dewalt due to the price for such a dedicated tool. After one use I had no remorse. No more hand fatigue and the time to get the job done was a fraction to using hand cutters. If you are on the fence like I was, just get them you won’t be sorry. Watch you fingers while using! They cut through thick branches with ease.
