The yellow plastic around the trigger button is sharp and there is a gap between the trigger button and the sharp yellow plastic, resulting in skin being pinched if you're not careful. There is also a very small safety switch on the trigger button. Reason enough to return the miter saw for me.

If you’re making any sizeable cuts, go to the 12 inch. Lots of board flipping and remeasuring. 10 inch blade would be fine if it slid to complete cuts, but it doesn’t.Excellent basic saw

Bought this recently. Used it quite a bit since I got it home. Works great, better quality then what I’ve had in the past.

My husband is a retired Home Improvement Contractor, now he does alot of handyman jobs, mostly what he did when he was a contractor. I pay close attention when I go on job sites with him now and I am pretty familiar with his tools and lately I have been asking him about certain tools he would love to have. When I got him on the subject of Miter Saws he told me about the Dewalt 15 amp compound miter saw he saw in Sears last week. He has two other miter saws which still work except he has had them for a long time. I went into Sears and found the Dewalt Miter Saw and bought it for him for Christmas. I talked to a few men in the tool dept. that are builders by trade and all told me my husband will love this saw. They got into the specfics about this Dewalt Miter Saw and I knew this would be just what my husband wanted. The Sales Rep. told me if there was any problems at all, just bring it back and Sears will exchange or give our money back. That is another reason we shop at Sears, they stand behind everything they sell. I wrapped it up and this saw is not easy to hide, my neighbor was nice enough to keep it for me until Christmas. Thanks Sears for making this Christmas special, now my husband can build something for me!!
I needed a 10 miter saw for a bunch of projects in an old I bought. The jobs included replacing the deck, baseboard, crown molding. I also do some hobby woodworking like building planters, etc. Price was my original concern and I was all set to buy a no frills Skil for around $100 but as soon as I walked up to the store I saw a recall notice for the Skil. I did a 180 right out of the store and revised my budget upward. After looking over reviews on Amazon, DeWalt’s website, and the CT website I decided on this saw because of price, light weight, ergonomics, etc. and then looked around several GTA hardware and tools stars, but CT’s $200 sale price was the best I could find.I’ve had the saw now for two years and here are some points:• The manual was actually clear ... MoreI needed a 10 miter saw for a bunch of projects in an old I bought. After looking over reviews on Amazon, DeWalt’s website, and the CT website I decided on this saw because of price, light weight, ergonomics, etc. and then looked around several GTA hardware and tools stars, but CT’s $200 sale price was the best I could find.I’ve had the saw now for two years and here are some points:• The manual was actually clear and easy to understand. This is a small detail, but some manuals I get read like they’ve been translated from Chinese by a machine.• The saw came perfectly square out of the box. Adjusting the miter is easy. Adjusting the bevel was tricky, but once I got it “zeroed in” I haven’t had to adjust it again.• Normally a 40 tooth blade is fine for outdoor projects like a deck or a shed. This one was perfectly fine for indoor projects like baseboard and cutting flooring. I did find the angled cuts used for crown moulding were splintery. Getting the blade sharpened, but replacing it with an 80 tooth blade was the real solution.• After using a cheap circ saw for years and waiting 10 seconds for the blade to stop, I consider the blade brake on this tool a modern technological wonder. My next circ saw will have one…• At 35 pounds, it’s “light” (for a miter saw) and the handle on top make it “easy” to move from one job site to another. The only downside is that the saw doesn’t come with a holddown clamps or extension rails to support longer pieces. I checked around and the price for these accessories (I call them essentials) was too much for my tastes. I use a ratchet clamp to secure small work pieces to the fence and I just built a cheap miter saw cart to hold up longer lengths of wood.Overall, I highly recommend this saw. If you can get it on sale for $200 you're getting if for the best price.
I bought a 10" Ryobi mitre saw a few years back as an amateur and taught myself how to build different benches and planters for the yard. After getting a hang of things and building up a little wood working business I decided to upgrade to the DeWalt in January 2013. I've been using it for six months and it's been great! Accurate mitres and much more solid and sturdy than the Ryobi. I even still have the original blade on it. I cut 4x4s, mini ties, and everything smaller than that without any troubles. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a saw to use around the house to build a deck or doing trim.
Works great, but i opted to save a little bit by buying the floor model. However, some parts were missing and home depot gave me the wrong accessory bag for the tool. I should’ve just bought it new because of the hassle.
I have been consistently satisfied with the Dewalt line of tools. I could have got more features for the same money with some other brands but the improved quality was worth losing some features. It was well setup out of the box. Cust square and it is easy to adjust. Got a matching stand. Great setup.
Hi,I'm not a Dewalt "Fanboy" so this is an honest review.I bought this saw last week on sale for amazing price to replace an old 12" mitre saw. I would still be using that saw but nobody would fix the motor. It worked great and the dust system was amazing!!!I've owned a Festool 10" Kapex, Milwaukee 12" sliding saw with digital readout, Bosch 10" Axial-Glide saw. I only sold these because of the offer's I received. The Dewalt DW713 mitre saw I don't recommend as it's the most basic saw I've ever used and the dust system is complete garbage.I needed to finish a Laminate floor job that was 500 SQ FT between three rooms, I saw it on sale and thought okay this will work. I used a Frued Diablo D1012LF blade that was brand new and made for cutting Laminate. I used a Frued Diablo D1012LF blade that was brand new and made for cutting Laminate. I had more dust on my face then the garbage little bag they provide had (Didn't come branded with Dewalt either) I usually like to have my mitre saw in the room with me and just sweep the little bit of dust up usually. Don't bring this saw indoors for finish trim or laminate floor jobs. The only pro-It's Very easy to carry around, don't worry if you don't have big arms.CONS-Dust system is complete Garbage-Zero Features (No light or laser)It's just a No-trills saw with an expensive price tagI can't return it to Dewalt either as I tossed the box, so now I have a Two hundred & twenty five dollar saw I don't want. Just don't pay retail as it's not worth it.Thank you
i picked this saw up used from my neighbor. his construction business went under, so they were selling most everything off. i was hesitant to buy such a well used miter saw, but eventually forked over the sixtyfive bucks, hoping this dewalt product still had some life left. so far, this tool has not let me down. it performs as well as one right out of the box. ive used it for cutting a variety of angles, and everything come out perfect. i could not be happier.
