A beautiful piece of machinery. Parts are milled not cast. Accurate to with 1/4 mm straight from factory. Accessories stored in handy locations, simple to change riving blade. Blade starts quickly and stops well. Clean cuts. Metal insert. An excellent piece on engineering

I am part of a men's shed so tools good a fair bit of use. We had been looking for a portable saw to replace our ageing one. The Dewalt was top of our list for several reasons:1 - Mitre guide has minimal slop and that can be rectified. Many other saws the mitre can be 3-8 degrees out as the slots dont hold the guides well.2 - Quick change guard and riving blade. Anything that makes it easier to fit and change guards means people are more likely to.3 - Solid fence. Our current one is not supported at the far end and is dangerous to use as it allows the wood to shift while cutting. By the time it was assembled we were all grinning like idiots as the DeWalt is not only a thing of beauty but has exciting features that sets the hearts of wood nerds aflutter. The push stick sits perfectly to hand in its holder built into the fence, the blade tools have a tidy slot on the frame, so we don't have to hunt for them in the shed, The riving blade, guard and kick back stopping parts all have easy access storage on the frame, the fence locks solidly, it is accurate to within half a mm from the factory and the guards are changed with a simple level pull. Two of the unpackers were fitter / turners. They were impressed the cogs were milled from solid metal, not cast.Cutting wood has been a pleasure with this tool. It is accurate, I can trust the fence settings, there is a low and a high fence taking 2 seconds (literally) to change over, and the saw starts quickly and stops quickly. The insert is not zero clearance (and shouldn't be) but is pretty close to the blade (3mm blade with about 2-3mm clearence), has a simple unlock, is one second literally to remove and is made of metal. It even has replaceable plastic / rubber pads for where the kick back protectors sit.Dust extraction works with 95% of the dust getting sucked out the rear exhaust tube. We haven't tried the top extraction port but it would eliminate most dust entirely. All the storage areas protect the blades and guards and are engineered so that nothing drops below the level of the feet to get knocked or broken. The saw can be lifted and stored on its side making it space saving, and at 26KG is not too heavy. The rubberised feet don't slip during sawing. We have used it on top of two saw horses. Are there any flaws? Two suggestions:1 - Make a clip to hold the power plug. There is an area to wind the cord but I cant see a clip to hold the plug so we have to tuck the plug into the wound cord.2 - There is no holder for the mitre guide when it is not being used (but I also haven't read the instructions and might have missed something).Overall - paint me yellow. I'm sold on this saw and my wife has been put on notice I want one for myself.

I researched table saws. The De Walt came out on top, even though it is considerably more expensive than most of its competitors. I reviewed the reviews. Now I own one I agree 100% with all the positive reviews made. I also got the package that had 2 extra blades.

I recently purchased a table saw and portable stand and am very pleased with both. The saw is accurate and user friendly and can produce precision articles. It is well worth while spending a little more money in order to have the rolling stand so that the saw can easily be moved to wherever you want to use it.
DeWalt have designed it so that you have to use their saw blades (16mm diameter output shaft). If like me you want to use a high quality aluminium blade you won’t be able to as DeWalt don’t make one to fit this saw and nobody else makes a 16mm circular saw blade
I purchased this to do a mix of woodworking and home improvement and it has been excellent for a wide range of projects. The fence is really solid and the precision is good. The stock mitre gauge wasn't very accurate and I replaced it with a better one.
great saw, very pleased with it. Does everything really well and a good price.
There is a lot of conflicting information around online, but the Australian version of this saw defintely only has a 16mm arbor. This isn't awful, you just need to get bushes to mount a normal blade on this (which is normally a 30mm bore). However, bushes aren't safe to use with dado stacks so one of the advantages of this saw is lost, making the DW745 a more sensible purchase. Annoyingly, Dewalt seem to be keen on forcing people into using their blades only, kinda feels like printers and ink cartridges. It's amusing that the manual seems to stress using only a specific blade with this saw, that you can't even buy in Australia. The fence is smooth and easy to use, which is this saw's big drawcard. Table's pretty flat out of the box. I don't completely agree with ... Table's pretty flat out of the box. I don't completely agree with the bevel lock lever, I hit it instead of the off switch while finishing a cut. It's also difficult to micro-adjust the bevel angle, I would have preferred a crank or screw mechanism so I can dial it in just right. The 90 degree bevel stop cam isn't positioned well because there is no tool clearance. Blade guard is pretty good. There's a little too much slop on the mitre gauge runner but I'll be using a sled anyway. Stowing the mitre gauge is kinda odd. Dust collection seems pretty good, a reducer to a standard 35mm shop vac is included.Bunnings, I would love to see you have available as special orders: Makita 2704N (distinct from the 1000n with an awful fence) and Bosch GTS 10J (which doesn't have as good a fence as the Dewalt but a normal arbor and is much cheaper). I also very seriously looked at the Hikoki C10RJ which doesnt have quite as nice a fence as the Dewalt.
This is great table saw, a bit bulky if you have a small van. If you use an extract system which activates when you switch the saw on then this is not the saw for you as the dust extractor senses the transformer and runs constantly or at least until you unplug the transformer. I use a remote controlled socket to get over this problem, but this defeats the object of the auto run on the dust extractor. Would have been nice to have been advised of this problem prior to purchase for the none electrically minded.
I bought this table saw over a month ago based on the reviews on this site. So far it has been excellent and exactly as described in the other reviews. I'm very happy with this purchase.
