Having both metric & SAE hex bits was a help when some schlub mixed them together on a particular project (there's a special place in Hell for guys like that). Between those & the security Torx bits everything became serviceable. The central relief holes in all those bits were true to center & sufficiently deep to completely clear the screws' security pins -- unlike the bit sets from some other brands I could mention. The bit case was a nice touch, although it doesn't lock together with the other drill/driver accessory sets DeWalt makes. Maybe if they offered a more expansive set that'd take advantage of the extra space...One word of warning: DO NOT use these bits with an impact driver -- they won't hold up to that kind of punishment. If the bit starts to slip ... MoreHaving both metric & SAE hex bits was a help when some schlub mixed them together on a particular project (there's a special place in Hell for guys like that). Somebody else on the project found that out the hard way...

I received this as a gift six months ago. As an electrician, who has to wear a tool belt, it's the greatest resource to carry. Nothing major wrong with it. The clip is pretty loose and spins in a circle freely now. Still, it's gone down stairs, fell from rafters, even out second story windows. It's just about indestructible. The only reason I didn't give it five stars, is from the beginning the latching mechanism is not really supported on both sides with the clip. Maybe it is designed this way to dislodge the mechanism before it breaks similar to a car alignment? Regardless my experience the latch will start to work it's way out randomly causing the door to be released unwillingly. All the bits fall out and typically lost because you'll walk quite a ways, at least ... MoreI received this as a gift six months ago. Just wanted to give the most accurate review for what it is.

This item exceeded my expectations. The case is built very well and has a convenient belt clip. Nothing about this was loose or just waiting to break like many others small tool and bit cases. As far as price, I had considered a Klein security bit set, but this was less than have the price with a better appearance and equal or better quality. Lastly, the bits themselves are nice and sturdy and the tri-wing bit I had needed fit nice and tight. Good job, DeWalt, why they discontinued this is beyond me.

Great Kit for Building Maintenance, contains most small security style fastener bits in one kit. Easy to keep in the tool pouch and great quality, we have used these on several playgrounds.
This was the second of two (2/2) gifts for my spouse. He has not only used it immediately, he also ended up buying more hard-to-find DeWalt tools from this shop. I also would like to mention that even if it was delayed, Acme Tools made sure I received this and the other present right on time for the Christmas holiday. Thank you!
I bought an old house that had window locks with no key and with screws that had an odd fitting. Luckily, before I broke every lock, I found this security bit set. It is perfect! One of the bits was an exact match and I was able to easily remove the window locks and replace them with standard catches. It definitely made my task easy! These bits are strong and fit into my bit extension. I love that they come in a case, too.
This is a tool that you don’t know you need until you need it. It’s only used in special situations where somebody wanted some security on people removing a cover from an appliance. It looks like an Allen wrench and it looks like a torque wrench but it has a hole in the middle of the tool. That’s the secret that’s the security and that’s why you need it when you need it relatively inexpensive and it’s a got a have.
I purchase this set of bits in order to remove bathroom partitions with one way bolts. The only problem I found was that the very tip that I needed I broke it on the first couple of tries to remove the bolt set. It really wasn't the fault of the bit as much as it was how tight they were installed on the partitions that snapped off the tip. I do have other uses for the rest of the bed so I really have not lost anything and I appreciate that they are packaged well. The only suggestion I would make is 2 change the adapter over to a sleeved magnetic adapter so that you can drop it over the head of the screw or Bolt for centering.
Works exactly as described. Needed it for a security torx screw on my ski rack. Fits my DeWalt drill nicely, though I'm sure it would fit other drills.
I bought the cheaper 100 piece set before finding this. The cheap set would do for a weekend warrior, but for just a few dollars more you can have a real tool set. If you work on anything with security screws this is a must have. This will pay for itself on the first repair. If you make a living with your tools or just save money by fixing things yourself, a quality set like this is a good investment. If you buy good tools you will only cry once. Buy inferior tools and you cry the second time when you replace them with the better brand you should have bought the first time
