The DeWalt brushless 3/8 Inch ratchet is run by a brushless motor that delivers an optimum torque rating of 60 ft-lb that helps in a wide range of fastening applications. Glass-filled nylon construction offers added strength and protects from oils and solvents. Onboard LED light lightens up the work space. Compact and lightweight design makes it easy to work in confined and hard-to-reach places. Variable speed trigger allows the user to control the speed of the ratchet depending upon the application. Trigger lock mechanism prevents the sudden initiation of the tool.

Very handy, especially when working in close quarters with little room for ratchet swing. Same goes for getting a bolt started while lining parts up. I preferred the 12v because of the smaller profile, still has decent torque for tightening / loosening fasteners.

I have been using Milwaukee's 1st gen small head cordless ratchets in 1/4 and 3/8 since they first came out and more recently got their high speed 3/8 too and I really LUV them all. There is virtually no automotive maintenance or repair I do that I don't use at least one of them on, but they're my only Milwaukee tools and only got them in the first place because Dewalt didn't make one. I have many many Dewalt 12v, 20v and 60v Max tools (circular saw, reciprocating saws, jigsaw, 3/8 ans 1/2" drills/hammerdrills, several 1/4", 3/8 and 1/2" impacts, chainsaw, fan, several handheld lights, underhood light, bluetooth speaker, blower, etc) and I generally prefer team-yellow over team-red. So when I learned Dewalt was finally coming out with a cordless ratchet I had to get my hands on one.So, now that I've had some time to run it though it's paces, what's different about them? The Dewalt has a higher torque that makes it better at dealing with less than pristine threads than any of the Milwaukees. It's not 'impacting' strong but enough to save a lot of time turning by hand to break stuff free and finish tightening over any of the Milwaukees. And even though it is stronger, the Dewalt somehow doesn't seem to have as much of a wrist-jerk/finger pinching action as the Milwaukees do when it hits it's limit. if you've used any cordless ratchet before you probably know what I'm talking about. The Dewalt is not as fast spinning as the Milwaukee high speed but that tool fares best on new threads. If the threads are crusty the Dewalt will beat it. The Milwaukees have a smaller battery profile and are shorter in length so can fit places this Dewalt can't, so there's that. Sometimes the extra length helps you reach places though hence why I'm now waiting on Dewalt to release their DCF503EB 'extended reach' 3/8" ratchet. I'm not sure which lasts the longest on a single battery charge except all of them have lasted me a full day of very frequent use with plenty battery left and I always have an extra so that's a non-issue either way IMHO.So, which do I think is better or is my fave? Perhaps only time will tell. Each has it's own place in my arsenal. This Dewalt 12v 3/8" cordless ratchet is a very welcome new addition.

Absolutely positively the very best electric ratchet.Powerful...vertical in line battery port...Safety switch prevevts bump starts (you know the kind that smash your knuckles)But it's a switch that doesn't automatically kick on every time the trigger is released which is excellent!!!Possibly the best feature of all...The light stays on 30 seconds after trigger release!!!Absolutely perfect design.Use it professionally hard every single day!!!

I was very excited for this when it was announced. I can say that it exceeded my expectations. It has plenty of power. It fits well into tight space and the run time is very good.
Nice compact ratchet.. fits in tight spots. Virtually the same as the 20v, but smaller.Doesn't have tons and tons of torque . But good for small projects and running nuts on and off
Never had a cordless ratchet before and thought I didn’t need one. Decided to give one a try and bought this one. I now wish I had bought one a lot sooner makes jobs so much easier instead of hand ratcheting. This one is a bit longer than some others but it works perfectly. Work as a diesel mechanic and even with it’s slightly longer profile I have no problem getting it in where i need it. Sometimes it’s extra length helps. I have seen some people saying that because the way the battery sits that it won’t fit places. But if my hand won’t fit grasping the ratchet it’s not going to fit anyway. Speed is perfect and I can wrench on it for tight bolts without and flex or cracking. I find it’s become by go to instead of using a hand ratchet. Speed is perfect and I can wrench on it for tight bolts without and flex or cracking. I find it’s become by go to instead of using a hand ratchet. The variable speed makes it easy to ensure I don’t over tighten bolts. I see a lot of reviews saying that it doesn’t have the 60flbs of torque but these tools are not impacts they are nut and bolt runners. There job is to make it easier to get things on and off it tights spots.
I really like this ratchet it does what I need it for. It’s not an impact wrench so don’t expect it to be one. The 12 volt battery is a good bit lighter than the 20 volt so other than getting another group of batteries for it and the 3/8 impact wrench it is great. I have pretty much the whole dewalt 20 volt setup but I have been very impressed by the 12 volt tools that I have purchased so far!
These light weight tools are great to work on you vehicle with. Easy access to harder to reach places and have a good amount of power. You can't break loose lug nuts, but they do get the job done and this 12v 3/8" tool is by far my most used tool of the bunch.
Excellent Battery UsageSolid Build QualityGreat AccessibilityCan handle small to large fasteners when used correctly
Bought this ratchet at the beginning of May 2022, as I had to replace the suspension and steering rack on one car and replace the water pump on another. This tool made the job go so much smoother. Its got great torque, it fit into some hard to reach places, and made it super easy to tighten some bolts down with almost no room to turn a manual ratchet. I also love that the LED light stays on for a while after use!I love the 12 volt line of Dewalt tools. The Cordless Ratchet really makes me so happy that I invested in this line. Would recommend it to anyone! Keep these great tools coming for the 12 volt line, Dewalt!
