I use this to cut long runs of melamine sheeting.It cuts the melamine cleanly with almost no chipping, and with no other preparation (e.g. I don't tape before cutting and I cut through in one pass).

Did a ripping cut on a 3.2m long 60mm thick ironbark slab, 3 passed 20mm deep at a time with a cordless power saw, and it cut it like butter, and left a very smooth finish.
