I am pretty horrible at role-playing games, but my boyfriend suggested we play Diablo 3 together during the lockdown in our state due to Covid-19. At first, there was a learning curve because I am not used to playing these types of games, but after things clicked, it has been quite enjoyable. We started playing towards the last couple of months of Season 20. The new season just started earlier this month, and I'll have to say.. it is definitely more fun the second time around! However, I am really enjoying the Barbarian class for Season 21. I like how the Barbarian is less squishy (aka you die less if a monster hits you!). You first have to get through 5 Acts before you can change the mode of play. It is all self-paced, but I think it is much better after you complete all 5 Acts. You still have certain missions to get through, but it kind of becomes a game of looking for certain gear. I haven't played other modes yet but hoping to explore later this season. This game is a bit dark, so I would only recommend it for a mature audience. If you have some time to kill or are looking for a new game to play, I definitely recommend this game!

Just completed this game for the 2nd time, I absolutely love it, I love the bosses, the different characters and modes. I also enjoy playing it multilayer with friends. I love thatbyou can choose your difficulty and that the adventure mode has different bonds and adventures to go on and to kill beasts. Spent so many hours on this game and now I cant wait for diablo 4 to come out

A good offline experience

Diablo 3 is a great offline hack and slash looter that will fill up your time. The problem is that it under performs terribly on the Switch. You won't notice this until you get to higher difficulties, but it quickly becomes apparent that the Switch cannot handle the shear amount of things on the screen at the same time. The console will dip down into the tens of frames when getting through higher difficulties, which makes the game almost unplayable. I say almost, because you can still play it but the experience is much better elsewhere.The game can be played offline- and frankly I advise it, since online not only requires you to pay for Nintendo's ridiculous online service but also is full of hackers. A step down from Diablo 2 mechanics but still fun

I bought this during the Black Friday sale because I was a big fan of Diablo 2 on PC (until I lost all my accounts since they were not permanently backed up onto a server or cloud and required a login every 6 months). I decided to try Diablo 3 after I purchased a Switch since it was on sale. I was not sure if I would be able to adapt to playing on a handheld instead of a mouse and keyboard but it wasn't too bad. The game is still fun but they changed the customization of characters which really made it not as fun as Diablo 2 where you can customize your own character with a skill tree. Here, you unlock every skill in the game as you progress and level up, whereas before you can choose to put points toward specific skills and a specific build. You can only unlock every skill when you reach level 70, and then choose which ones you wish to use for a certain character build. No longer can you find runes and socketed items and customize powerful weapons and gear for specific character builds. A lot has changed, and I definitely prefer the old way more. It still has playability with different seasons and gear sets you can achieve by completing seasonal goals, but losing that ability to customize your own character the way you want was not a step in the right direction. Here's hoping the next installment will bring that system back, otherwise maybe when the remastered version of Diablo 2 comes out, I could go back to playing that.

Excellent Mobile Dungeon Crawler

I originally for Diablo 3 for the XBox 360 and loved the fast paced dungeon crawling and easy to use combat style. While the earlier Diablo games for the PC had a deeper story and more thoughtful leveling style, the new style is more fitting for the consoles. Now that that game is out on the Switch, it's great for mobile dungeon crawling or just sitting at home hunting for loot. When paired with the Loot Goblin Amiibo (sadly a GameStop exclusive), it makes hunting for rare items and gems more accessible. The Legend of Zelda bonus, while cool, is a little disappointing. The Ganondorf look fits in the dark world of Diablo, but if you're playing as a female, it just doesn't look right. It would have been better with a Link, Zelda, or even Midna option. Excellent port, lots of content + amiibo support!

As someone who lost sleep and missed classes due to Diablo II, I was initially disappointed with D3, and then pleased with the changes/fixes Blizzard made. But it had been over 2 years since I'd last picked up the game, until I got the Switch version on my birthday this year.I've been blown away by the Switch version. The graphics are surprisingly nice, the controls and gameplay are smooth, and there's SO much more content than the last time I looked! (Plus running around as Ganondorf with a cucco pet is hilarious.)On top of that the amiibo support is great. Any amiibo will spawn an Elite monster to fight for EXP and loot, but the new Loot Goblin amiibo is the best. I won't spoil its effect, but I love it. There's no extra download for data, just some an update or two to likely fix some bugs or add some to the gameplay.If you like Diablo 1 and 2 you're likely going to have issue with this game as the depth isn't quite there. It feels more like a very simple beat 'em up where you equip armor and change skills every so often. There's no real skill tree or much progression of each skill. You get a skill, you unlock runes for each as you level up and each changes the skill but doesn't exactly power it up. But like I said, as a beat 'em up, not really an action RPG. There's just not much depth here. For that you might want to look at Titan Quest but, I have no idea how that runs on Switch, only the PC version.In short, it's alright. Grab if you have some friends who want to play locally.

Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild

I love this game. I first borrowed it from a friend since I had never played a zelda game before (I also had no games for my switch at the time). I was blown away at the graphics alone. I was compelled to tell my friend how amazing it looked (even though he already knew). The gameplay is amazing, and the controls- while being a little odd at first- actually turned out to be very simple. The motion controls to help aim your bow really made the game feel more real. It's also a puzzle game, and while the starting puzzles are relatively easy, some can get very difficult if you don't know what to do. The enemies gradually get more difficult as you keep exploring, forcing you to seek out as many temples as possible to get more spirit orbs, which you can trade for more ... MoreI love this game. I won't spoil anything, but you should just buy the game. It really is amazing if you love action adventure games, story driven games, and/or RPGs.

I'll just end my review by saying this: find a way to fit this game into your life, this is not a game you can miss out on!
