I generally only buy these pants for everyday wear, and they usually fit well. This order does not fit like previous orders. For some reason these jeans appear to be smaller in the waist almost like they're a size smaller than ordered. I'm going to have to make them work because I've removed and thrown away the tags. I haven't gained any weight so it has to be in the manufacturing process. I still love and will continue to buy Dickies because of their durability. Just a minor flaw with this order but the same quality built jeans.

I had been looking for a different brand of jeans. The national brand of jeans that I had been wearing since I was a kid had slipped in quality. It was common to wear through the knees of a brand new pair in one or two days while working in my shop. I bought a couple pairs of Dickies jeans to give a try. The Dickies jeans are very comfortable and durable. I have been an everyday wearer of Dickies jeans for a couple years now and I have yet to wear through any of the pairs I have bought.

Relaxed Fit Heavyweight Carpenter Jeans 1993 The jeans are comfortable but if you ae looking for a pair that isdurable you in the WRONG place. We bought 4 pair and in 3 months 3 pair already have holes in the plier pocketand the tool falls straight through. Company says abnormal wear and tear. HA HA. The 1993's are not coveredunder warranty.... Never again for me. This particular pair or any Dickies for that matter!!! We bought the 1994brand for many years and rarely had a problem after years of wear.

Those pants are made of quality material, they will last at least 3 years.If you're a working guy, they're great: The two side pockets are tightly fit for a phone. Belt will hold well. The walking & sitting down in an Electrical Power Plant will leave you a surety non-compared.If you wear them casually, they're awful: the small right pocket is awkward at best. Side pockets won't hold a protected phone. Trouser straps are too close together. I wear a belt buckle.My overall review: work 92.9% casual 84.1%N.B. shorten your leg length by 2 inches for casual.
Hadn't ordered any jeans since I retired from work and when I went looking for the jeans I had worn for years they had been discontinued. I even called customer service to verify my search. The representative recommended the carpenter style so since many of mine were wearing thin I ordered one pair to try them out. They fit great much like my old plain style, they have extra pockets so that should be good also. I'll just have to see if I have any problems hooking the hammer loop on stuff while I'm working but pretty sure I'll be ordering more of these soon.

Unfortunately I just had to return the latest pair I bought because the side pocket has reduced in size. I get the cost of everything is going up, but is reducing the size of that pocket really making or breaking your cost for the pants. As I glance through some reviews, I see I’m not the only one ticked off about it. It was so convenient to order when I needed new pants. Same size, same model#, same color. But sorry, I am now done with Dickies and will be forced to go through the hassle of finding new pants. I ordered 3 pairs of the same pants and size I’ve worn for years and had to return them. All three pair were to small but not in the same way. One pair I could button but were tight in the thighs the next pair I could not even come close to getting buttoned and the third pair I couldn’t button as well and they were about 1 1/2” shorter than the other two pairs. Quality control is way off somewhere. Very disappointing maybe they should stick to work wear (what they’re known for) instead of all the “fashion” clothing. I’ll probably be looking elsewhere. But the return process is great.
I purchased these carpenter jeans under the impression they were your old red tab carpenter jeans with tapered legs. I loved those jeans! Apparently you quit making those jeans and only offer the straight leg carpenter jeans that have a blue or black tag on the rear pocket. You need to update your photo then! The photo of the jeans I ordered were that of the old red jeans. That is the only reason I ordered these. I do not like the ones I ordered! Too baggy and I hate straight legs! Did not feel like going thru the trouble of returning them. They're going either in the trash can or to GOODWILL! I'm done with Dickies!
I ordered to pairs of identical size. One pair fits perfectly and the other feels like it's going to cut me in half. I knew that some things have slipped, but I didn't expect such a radical difference in fit. I'll be keeping the pair that fit correctly and returning the other pair.I already had to return two pairs that were a waist size lower. There's a large difference between the relaxed fit and the loose fit.
The denim is a good weight. I was pleased at how quickly it came. This might sound a little odd but the fly is longer than most companies and the zipper is good and strong. Often companies cheap out on that feature because I suspect that per unit zippers are relatively expensive. I have two things I would wish different one is for the watch pocket to be a little broader. I carry an AAA flashlight and unlike the other Dickies pants I have it won’t lie flat in the pocket making me a little nervous about it working its way out. The second is that the pocket material is a bit light for work jeans. I really like the pocket down the right leg. A glasses case fits perfectly.
