Excellent work pants. Have been using them for over 50 years, but with larger waists :-) as the years go on. Will buy nothing else. But not happy with the front pockets being much shorter, the past few years, not deep enough, like the original models were. So bring back the original deep pockets. Another complaint, bring back the expansion waist Dart at the back of the waistband. That gave us a bit more room, when cut open, when not quite ready to go to the next size of pant. The tough cotton material has saved me many a cut or bruise on the thighs and legs over the years. Wife has had to Iron tough patches on the knees, cause the rest of the pant still had lots of life left. If you bring back the things you changed the past few years they would be perfect, again.

I ordered 2 pairs of work pants for my husband, who is a self-employed auto-repair tech. These pants had a strange feel to them out of the pkg , like they were coated with a very thick stiffening agent, which I hoped and assumed would softened up after washing. Not so! Repeated use, washing in hot water and running thru the drying cycle, they are still weirdly and puzzlingly very very stiff. My husband made the crack this morning of "putting on his cardboard pants". After decades of using Dickies 874 Work Pants (and both long-sleeved and short sleeved work shirts), I have never experienced this situation.I will think twice before ordering the rest of the pants from Dickies that I was going to order to refresh his uniform inventory Very disappointed!

Dickies 874 Pant Khaki 34

One of the most iconic work pants, and it lives up to its reputation. Strong fabric, good quality workmanship, I am confident it will last for a long time. I like the khaki colour. It can be worn in most occasions, workshops, offices, classrooms, outdoor activities and weekend gatherings. Waist 34 is a little bit tight so if you want to wear at low waist, go one size up. Length wise, I am 182cm and 32 inches length fits me perfectly (with one folding, which I like). I have another Dickies double knee pants that is 30in in length. That is too short for me. With the crazy discount, I wanted to buy more pairs but unfortunately I've seriously run out of space in my wardrobe 🤣

Exceptional Work Pants
28 August 2024

I am in the IT industry and believe it or not i do alot of physical activity. Mounting equipment in server racks, climbing ladders to install wifi radios, on my knees mounting ups's. These 874 work pants are exceptional professional looking sturdy work pants. They pass for executive meetings and out in the field work. I couldnt be happier with my purchase. I do need to warn they do run small. I am between a 36 and 38 waist and ordered a 38 on this site that fit more like a 34 (had to return). I went to a big box store and bought 1 pair of 40 inch waist that fit perfect for 36-38. Then loaded up at this site with all types of colors in a 40 waist (8 pairs). Will be getting some more soon.Their return policy was exceptional. Could not be happier with my purchase.

FIT SMALL. Buy 2 size up. READ review for more.
30 May 2024

I’m a 5 11’’ 180lb. I have a typical “dad bod” type (small beer belly) silhouette. I wear size 32-33 x 30 in most brand (Levi’s 33’’x30, LEEjeans 33’’x30, Rouge territory 32’x30). The sizing from DICKIES 874 runs SMALL. I ordered 34x30. the waist measure 17’’ ish diameter… it’s closer to a 32’ in most brands. The inseam is spot on at 30”. I ordered 5 pairs and measurement are in consistent between pants about 1/2’ variances from different locations of manufacture. They are even smaller than the 33x30 Dickies’ 803 “skinny fit” i wear. Also the material on the newly purchased feel thinner than older made Dickies.

No manufacturing standards
28 December 2023

I have purchased Dickies pants and work shirts for years, but something seems to be happening with their manufacturing process. I have purchased seven (7) pairs of pants from them recently. All were Original classic 874 khaki pants. All had tags on the inside stating that they were size 32 x 29. I noticed different fits and measured all seven very carefully with a tape measure from the hook on the left to the clasp on the right. I measured along the waist on the inside of the pants. Two (2) measured 34 inches, two (2) measured 33 inches, one (1) measured 32 inches and two (2) measured 30 inches. I had to return the two measuring 30 inches. They were the last I ordered and were too tight to wear. The pants themselves are excellent, but I am now scared to order them ... MoreI have purchased Dickies pants and work shirts for years, but something seems to be happening with their manufacturing process. Original 874 Work Pants - Awesome as always!
8 June 2024

As always, I know I can count on Dickies Original 874 to not disappoint! My son, a long time Dickies Work pants wearer, needed pants for his summer engineering internship where he would spend his days outside on the construction site. He wanted to look professional yet casual but also have a pair of pants that were durable for whatever he would be getting in to. Without hesitation we turned to his favorite Dickies and ordered a few pair to last him all summer. The fit is always great, the fabric is durable and washes so easily, and best of all the color selection is nice. His beloved favorite skateboard pants that he grew up wearing in middle school and high school now can see him through college! He could not be happier.

Quality of Dickies pants
26 December 2023

There is what happened to the American consumer after the pandemic and the limited ability of stores to make enough money to survive. Most men love Dickies pants, their strong long life for use and their excellent neat look. Most of us men went to Sears, whom carried the product for years. Whether it was pants for work, or pants to take your lady out on the town, the pants are and were loved. Sears went under after a hundred plus years in existence. We lost easy access to the pants we grew up loving. Now with this new easy order system I feel like I am on top of the world again. I will continue to buy pants for me and my relatives as gifts. The company needs to know the yi7nger generation are unaware of the high quality of your produce and devotion of your employees ... MoreThere is what happened to the American consumer after the pandemic and the limited ability of stores to make enough money to survive. Sizing is insane
27 October 2024

So I am familiar with the concept of "actual waist size" versus, say, what Levis does, where a marked size is actually significantly larger when measured. I'm about 6' and 175 lbs, so while I take a 31 in Levis, I'm actually measured out around 34". So I ordered the 874 in a 34. They were tiny! I couldn't even get them closed. So I measured them, and they are actually around 29.3". I've never heard of anybody actually measuring DOWN from their marked size, unless you're talking about like Japanese-market brands or similar. At any rate, the pants seem nice and well-made for the price, so maybe I'll try again in a larger size. Going by my experience, I guess someone 6' and 175 lbs with a measured waist of 34" would need... Like a 40? That seems insane. 40 is like... I mean no disrespect, but in that size you're usually fully into either NFL players or very overweight guys. Listen, I think brands that do actual waist sizing are fine. But whatever Dickie's is doing is their own thing/Japanese market weirdness.

These are not vanity sized like most pants

These fit a lot like dead stock vintage- they will stretch a bit if you gain weight. I have a white pair I wore about three times that I purchased with some olive pairs which I wear all the time. They all fit the same when new; but the white ones no longer fit because I gradually gained weight. For factory work they're great especially for the price. lightweight in the summer, dry fast in wet conditions, don't fade much. During sanitation work they don't easily bleach stain (diluted) after they get washed and worn a lot. burns tend to melt and not fray. Small abrasions fray slower than denim or canvas. I noticed that dog hair don't stick like other poly blend pants even other Dickies and my Blair uniform pants which cost 3x as much and worn by professional canine ... MoreThese fit a lot like dead stock vintage- they will stretch a bit if you gain weight. They also dress-up with a button up or sweater after work.
