My husband has always worn the duck work pants. Normally we purchase them from our local Wal-Mart, but the past year or two the pants have been made different. They are the same numbers just made different. One of the differences is the lighter material. My husband is a welder and has sparks flying around all day. The lighter material doesn't last as long. But the main difference we have noticed and has caused me to start ordering online is the belt loops. My husband carries his phone, flash light, and Letterman all on his belt, there use to be 7 loops spaced out, now There are 6 with 2 being right in the back. His tools slide around to the back. I'm not sure why this was changed, but it is noticed and not in a good way.

Have had these before and the sizing is all over the place. I had to return them. I have realized that I have to go up one size on the waist over what I wear in every other pant. The quality is ok but used to be better. Dickies needs to step up quality control in their foreign factories. Since Farm & Fleet won't refund the shipping, it's cheaper to wait til Dickies has them on sale and then buy direct. No shipping fee and free return shipping with them.

I have been wearing the DU336RBK carpenter Jean's for about 8 years now. I purchase 2 to 4 pair each year because I wear them daily. I purchased the garments from the Dickies website where I have purchased my last several pair. These last two pair are lighter weight duck, the pockets( particularly the tool pockets on the right leg) are smaller and shaped differently, and the inner waistband is narrower. These differences caused me to compare the model number and all the registry numbers on the tag, all of which are identical.I am highly disappointed in the reduction of quality in these garments and will probably look for an alternative for my next purchase.

I ordered six pairs of the Relaxed Fit Sanded Duck Carpenter pants that were all nominally the same size (32W x 30L), but in reality only two of the six pairs fit properly. Another two were so tight I couldn't put them on. Additionally, the stitching around the waist was irregular and messy, with a few stitches that actually ran off the material in places. I buy these pants often and the quality has tanked since my last purchase over a year ago. I hope Dickies institutes better quality control because until now, their pants have been well made and durable. Two Stars for the two pair of pants I kept. Do better.
Love the feel but the sizing is all wrong . I bought a total of 5 pair . Plus one size up actually 2 sizes up . I am a 34x34 . I usually buy a 36x34 because I like the extra room . I bought 36x34 in your pants and they fit like a 33 not a 36 by any standards . So I was disappointed to see how the sizing was off . I’m 6’1 185 lbs . The legs are more narrow than older pairs the same style . I purchased a couple older pair (new but old never used ) to see if I would like and see how the fit was ..The leg on the new is more tapered , supposed to be straight but they don’t fit over a boot good .
These are great pants. I sent back the first pair I ordered as I ordered a size that was too small. As it turns out, the ones I have been wearing (sold locally at a discount) were tagged with the incorrect size. Provided you try them on before taking the tags off and washing them, you will get your full refund back if you need to return them. Once the proper size was ordered (I measured, to be sure), the pants fit like a glove.
These are great! I work in a wood fabrication shop, and these are exactly what I was looking for. I don't carry around a hammer often, but I do like to clip a measuring tape to the hammer loop. I saw that others had issues with their phone in the pocket, but I have a larger phone, and I don't like to have it in my pocket all the time anyhow, so this isn't an issue. The pockets seem great to me. The fabric seems durable and wood dust blows off well with an air hose. As far as the fit, I did size up one and it seemed to work for me. I'd usually be a 34 and the 36s are fine. The loose fit is nice and I haven't put my tight jeans back on since these arrived.
This is not my first time with these pants. They are built well and the fabric is durable. The one thing I will say is to be prepared to have to exchange them. The waist sizing varies. My old pairs are 34” and I went with a 36” on my recent order. They fit virtually the same. No way these are 36” waist. Other than that, great pants.
Pros: No synthetic fibers, durable duck canvas.Cons: Tight fit for rated waist size. Front pockets are undersized, difficult to fit hand in when I have my EDC knife clipped to pocket or when sitting down. Internal dimensions of pocket could be extended toward middle of pant for added room. Bought two pairs and the pocket in one had a large hole at lower stich line within a couple weeks. The zipper fly feels like it could be minimum 1/2" longer to provide more room when used.Design recommendations: Longer zip fly or even a button fly, riveted corners for the tool pockets and hammer loop, riveted belt loops. Reinforced front pockets (internally and at areas where tools could be clipped). Integral suspender provisions.
I’ve been wearing 874’s for years and have been wanting to try a pair of carpenter pants. I took a chance on these and I am glad that I did. They fit pretty similar to the 874’s but are much heavier material. They feel nice and smooth maybe because they are sanded? As for size I typically wear a 32 or 33 so I went with a 34 and they fit perfect without a belt. I will be buying a few more pairs of these. Quality pants at a good price!
