Solid light-weight work pant. I work a golf course. Have a couple pair that I use for daily grounds-work that still look good/professional enough to cover working directly with golfers in pro-shop & as course-ranger/assistant. I have a couple more pair in my locker for working equipment maintenance (greasy/dirty/rugged work).

I'll be checking every pair from here on out and if the waistband issue isn't corrected, this latest batch my well be the last purchase of these jeans I'll ever make. I mean....maybe it's just me, but when I buy a pair of jeans that's supposed to have an advertised 34" waist and the waistband **WHICH IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE STRETCHY AT ALL** stretches out to somewhere around 38"-40", it's off-putting to say the least. You lost me, Dickies, and this is probably where we part ways forever.

After losing 55 lbs and slimming down from size 48 to size 44, I needed to get jeans that fit and felt good when wearing them. I usually get a couple of other name brands but their price became more than I was willing to pay. I was able to get a pair of Dickies jeans from a local store, and liked the way the jeans fit. The jeans were a relaxed fit and was capable of stretching a little where I needed it. These jeans, being a carpenter style, has a couple of extra right side pockets designed to carry small to medium things, and also has a hammer loop on the left side. Those extra additions to the jeans wasn't a significant difference for me, so I bought the single pair to try out. That pair was instantly comfortable and fit my waist, legs and butt area so well even ... MoreAfter losing 55 lbs and slimming down from size 48 to size 44, I needed to get jeans that fit and felt good when wearing them. I could get 2 of the Dickies brand jeans for the price I would have paid for 1 of the other name brand jeans.A search for the Dickies jeans led me to Construction Gear online store...the price was right and the shipping was free, so I had no reason to reject them.I am glad that I found the Construction Gear store, and will probably purchase other items from them.

Terrible quality. Fake. These are not the same pants i've been buying for years. We'll never buy these pants again. Go to Amazon. Better price in they're not fake..

Great If You Know How to Size
29 November 2015

These pants are 12 oz. canvas, somewhat stiff (which I like), durable, and very affordable. But you need to know how to size them. This material shrinks quite a bit. If you don't mind a looser fit in the seat and thighs, I highly recommend buying one full size up in the waist and shrinking them to fit over a series of washings and dryings. I normally wear a size 34 waist, so I bought these in a 36 knowing they were entirely too big before washing. But after the first wash & dry, they already fit close enough to begin wearing, and I noticed an added benefit: the extra loose fit in the seat and legs prevents the pants from binding when crouching, even though they don't have a gusseted crotch. That makes them so much more comfortable when working, squatting, climbing a ladder, etc., and it makes them an even better value. My only complaint is related to the pockets. The cell phone pocket is too small for most smart phones, and the front pockets are so small you can barely get your hands inside them, and that's sizing up! These are inexcusable design flaws. Better plan on carrying your keys on a carabiner clip. If Dickies would fix these two problems and add a style with cargo/utility pockets, they might give the more expensive companies some serious competition.

Great jean
21 May 2022

I had 2 pairs of Dickies that I purchased 13 years ago . i did not wear them much because I gained weight and then lost enough so they would fit . I started wearing them again , a couple years ago , they fit . Most of my jeans are Wranglers I put them on , they are hard to button and 2 hours later they are falling down . I ordered the same size I bought 13 years ago , they too are hard to button and after 2 hours they are still hugging my waist not falling down . I am completely happy with my purchase

Great pants that tend to shrink over time
22 November 2021

The Dickie Canvas Carpenter Jeans are well made from strong canvas fabric, triple stitching, and rivited pockets. I have owned several pairs of these in the past. They tend to shrink, and therefore, it is better to order a slightly larger/longer size than other types of pants. The canvas jeans cost me about $30 a pair. I cut off the loop on the side of the right leg because that loop tends to get caught on door knobs or anything extending. Because they shrink, I need to have them shortened until they are washed multiple times. Unfortunately, the hemming of the pants cost me about $18 a pair.

Great product, great value
11 April 2022

I am really pleased with this pair of Dickies Dick Carpenter Jeans. I am a true 32" waist and these pants fit great. They are a relaxed fit that allows good working movement but is not a sloppy looking loose fit product. The heavy duck material is exactly what I expected, good quality

Perfect fit but hard to find
9 April 2021

Dickies Relaxed Fit Heavy duck carpenter jean straight leg is hard to find in black/rinsed black. This is a review for the 12 Oz cotton duck fabric, which is much heavier and more long wearing than the 9 Oz. My husband is a contractor/carpenter and won’t wear anything else. He’s worm these jeans for nearly 20 years. The style and quality of the Jean hasn’t changed one iota in that time. They are hard wearing jeans but will fade a bit of course with the hard use he puts them through. Wish they had a double knee but they’re WAY less expensive compared to Carhartt. Also wish they had dual belt loops and dual side pockets, as he’s left handed but that is a MINOR inconvenience. Will def buy again. He goes through 2 pair a year and has six in his wardrobe.
