A Bit Too Relaxed

I had wanted to purchase Regular Fit Straight Leg Flex Cargo Work Pants from Target, where I normally purchase them, but they had been out of stock for weeks. I finally the Relaxed version from Dickies and unwisely washed them and wore them without trying them on first. I found the legs too baggy and missed the small pocket just about the cargo pocket on the right leg. Since receiving the ones from Dickies, I found what I was looking for at Target and purchased the two pair in my size. I'll keep the Dickies pair as a spare.

My co-worker buys these and I thought I would give them a try. My measurements are 38X34, the first thing I noticed is that they were tight around the waste. It could be I am changing or the pants that I normally wear are a bit larger around the middle, not really sure and did not check the measurements. Second thing I noticed was that the pant legs were longer than what I usually wear. I measured them and they were indeed 34", compared to my other pants which were labeled 34" length but I find after measuring were 32" (OH GEEZ!!!) been buying this size for "Years"!! No big deal my wife can hem them up. Pockets seem to be pretty shallow compared to my older pants. I do carry a lot of work stuff in my pockets, flashlight, razor knife, pens, etc.. I would like to see deeper pockets. I usually wear a belt that is 1.5" wide and the belt loops on these pants are only 1.25". Also the type of belt I wear (web style) will only go through the loop once so the tongue of the belt cannot go through a loop twice. I looked through the description and did not see a reference to belt widths mentioned. Some minor inconveniences I should be able to rectify on the next purchase.

Need permeant press in leg seam.

Very good product. I have used your 874 work pants for 30 years. The only suggestion for improvement would to make the pants with permanent press, that is for the seam on the pant legs. Now, after a few washing there is no seam crease. Also, would prefer the mfg. be done in USA. If you must use Mexicans, set up a factory close to the southern boarder where there are hundreds of thousand of Latinos good with sewing.

New vs. Old
15 August 2021

I have 2 other pairs of Dickie's pants in the 65% - 35% material & wear them & like them. They are beginning to wear out. So I decided to purchase another pair. The new pair's material is "heavier/thicker" than what I remember from past pants. I am wearing them, but not as often as I'd like because of the heat. The older ones are thinner/lighter & I'm more comfortable wearing them in this heat. As the heat easies up I'll wear the new ones more. Thanks.

Nice looking but not suited for my use
5 October 2019

I've never purchased any DIckies pants or cargoes before. I was hoping the nice looking Dickies cargoes would replace the rather sloppy looking ones I've been getting. Unfortunately the upper front pockets are too small & shallow to carry my EDC and other stuff. I'm so disappointed! The cargoes are really nice looking and I like them except for that one issue! The pockets need to be at least 2 inches deeper and another inch or so wider. The pocket entry opening is fine, even generous, so a partial solution is to make that a little smaller at the bottom which would correspondingly deepen the pocket. I've not had this problem with any other pants or cargoes I've owned or even just tried on. Please let me know if you do enlarge the front pockets, then I'd love to get more!

One suggestion, one question
23 December 2022

1. First time to get a pair of cargo pants from Dickies. So far so good though I have one suggestion. The flaps on these from other brands tend to not stay flat against the pocket. How about moving the velcro down to the very tip of the flap and (on the pocket as well, of course) to help prevent this.2. I am a big fan of the multi-use pocket on both your shorts and pants. Haven't seen it available in a regular fit pant for awhile. Will it ever come back?

Quality down
30 April 2023

Been ordering for several years now. Quality has gone down. Materials are thinner and don't hold up as well. Each order is the same yet the fabric changes. Not sure where they are being made, but no longer getting moneys worth with cheap material that doesn't hold up like it used to under working conditions. Fit and style are only advantages.

Very poor. Permanently stained first time worn . Will have too replace all 5 pair. No refund ?! Description does not match performance. Dickies should state they no longer carry industrial work pants . Dickies refused too refund. Been outfitting my business for 15 years with you guys, Never again. Bad business

Right dimensions and design. Never change, please
1 May 2021

Been wearing this specific style in various colors as a work pant for 7 years. Formal enough for office work in khaki color, yet durable enough for the field. Navy blue works for my department now, and it's the only pair of pants I've ever been complimented in (like multiple times). The pocket is sturdier than other Dickies cargo designs, most of which I've managed to catch and tear. Solid sewing on belt loops, I clip equipment to them and they've never failed (denim on the other hand has). Zippers have never failed or gotten stuck. Don't know what else to say, good quality pants that have only ever had to be retired once (chemical spill), all others are still functioning

Small room for improvement
12 November 2022

My favorite pair of skate pants, the only reason I would not give 5 stars is for the waist closure. Button closure is just better in my opinion, because the one on this pair of pants tends to come undone by itself. This won't be a problem if your pair fits your waist perfectly, as the pant closure will not have enough slack to unhook itself.I remember buying this same pair a year ago and getting a button, I don't know why this pair didn't have one too. Probably a new (cheaper?) feature.
