The quality of the pants are nice but the sizing is so silly. I ordered the 874's in the green and black colorway and both of them were fully different sizes around the waist and leg length despite both being labeled as size 4, regular length. I am 5'6 and 130lbs with a 29-30 waist and 30inch inseam. The black 874's fit around my waist but they were definitely tight (should have gone with size 6 in black) but the green one's (size 4) fit perfectly with almost half an inch or a bit more of room to breathe and move around. The leg length on the black pants were definitely shorter as I only had to roll them once but the leg length on the green pants were SO LONG. I'm usually a size 4 and ordered these in a 2 and a 4. Both fit great. If you're looking for a comfortable but more slim fit, size down. If you're looking for a trendy, oversized look, I would definitely just recommend ordering whatever you usually order. I'm 5'8" and around 130 pounds. I have an athletic build and not much curves, so I struggle sometimes to find high waisted pants that will fit my straighter waist comfortably (usually I need to size up if it's high waisted). Great quality. I cut mine with a pair of scissors so they'd look frayed and cropped with boots.

But it looks like the confusion comes from the sizing guide which adjusts the reference based on various body types, specifically "Regular", "Curvy", and "Plus". I bought based on the "Regular" size guide which I found to be true to size. I did tailor in the waist a bit which is typical for me and I'm very happy with the results. But if I had purchased the size based on the "Curvy" chart they provided the pants might have fit better in the waist but been too tight in the hips and thighs. There's very little stretch in this poly/cotton twill, so there's little room for error here. I ordered true to size and believe this is the best fit I could possibly get (size 4). The waist and thighs are a bit big, but because the fabric has no stretch this is necessary for it to be comfortable. There is gaping in the back when I bend unless I wear a belt.Compared to the mens' 874, the women's pants accommodates for female waist to hip ratio better, although it probably still won't fit great on someone curvier. I ordered 2 sizes up (29) for the men's pants and it fit tight on the hips and stuck out badly on the waist.

Usually I am a size 4-6 in bottoms, size XS-S in tops.If I was ~10 lbs heavier they would still fit but theyād be snug and might make me uncomfortable in the butt/thighs (might size up). If I was ~10 lbs lighter they would still fit but would be too loose around the waist but would fit my thighs and hips very nicely (probably wouldnāt size down).If I was ~20 lbs heavier they would not fit (I would definitely need to size up to 6). If I was ~20 lbs lighter they would probably still work but it would look crappy with a belt since the waist would be too loose and the hip area would probably be a bit loose (I carry most of my weight in my butt, and thighs. It was a mistake not to go even further (but, in my case, Dickies doesn't make a smaller size than the one I ordered). The waist is loose, the length is comically long, and the butt is a disaster. FEMA needs to respond to these pants.Waist: Even though I sized down, I could comfortably lose another two inches or so in the waist before needing to worry about wearing these to a buffet lunch.Length: They're super long. To be clear, these "short" pants are longer than regular pants in any other brand I've ever purchased. I had to cuff the pants twice to make them wearable and three times if I wanted them to stop at the ankle. You will almost certainly need to hem or cuff these pants.Booty: They fit like parachute pants around the lower butt. They do not fit even remotely like what I saw in the photos online. They fit okay (loose, but comfortable) around the top of the booty, but they are unreasonably baggy around my lower booty and top of leg area. There is so much extra material there that I don't feel comfortable walking in them. I can feel the pants hanging far away from me in this bizarre way that I don't know how to describe, but ONLY in the lower butt and upper leg area. Below that, they are looser than I would like but not nearly as disconcerting. I know they are not a slim fit pant and I didn't want a slim fit pant, but this is baggy and the photo does not reflect that.TLDR: The Dickies Women's 874 runs large in just about every way. Its cardinal sin is the extreme bagginess around the butt and upper leg. If you want to purchase these without trying them on, size down at least one size (one wasn't enough for me) and length option (if you're a regular, order a short) and expect to cuff or hem the pants on top of that. If you can, order several size options (your expected size and smaller) and return what doesn't work so you don't have to play the exchange game. Finally, unless you are blessed in the behind, I cannot recommend these to folks with runner's builds unless (A) you are looking for really baggy pants or (B) your regular size (per the size chart) is at least a 6, since this will give you the freedom to size down up to two sizes if needed.

Great pants. I love the fit of them. Slim around the waist and hip. Straight and roomy around the legs. They remind me of the fit of menās pants. The only problem is with the sizing. Iām generally a size 4/27 and Iām glad I took the advice of other reviewers to go down one size. A size 2 fits me with maybe an inch of extra room around the waist. The hip is a bit tight though. I can see how these pants might be difficult for those with more curvesā¦

I was also truly disappointed to go into various stores to find that they only carried men pants and shirts in abundance. I am a female and an independent contractor. My spouse and I just landed this contract and the dress code was cargo pants khakis. I went to Target and Walmart as well as looked on Amazon. He didn't specify color but in the warehouse everyone wears blue bottoms. I am also a plus size girl. Got plenty of junk in my trunk. He said no jogging pants, leggings, or jeans. Well Dickies was my only choice. I don't mind paying the price as long as the quality is there. I could not get the cargo pants in plus blue.
