I recently added the Diptyque Baies Candle to my collection, and it has quickly become my favorite candle of all time. The scent is simply mesmerizing! The blend of blackcurrant leaves and Bulgarian roses creates a beautiful and sophisticated aroma that fills the room with elegance. The throw of this candle is exceptional, effortlessly spreading the fragrance throughout my space. The clean-burning, high-quality wax ensures a long-lasting burn, allowing me to enjoy the heavenly scent for hours on end. The chic design of the candle adds a touch of luxury to any room, making it a gorgeous dƩcor piece as well. If you're searching for a candle that combines exquisite fragrance, longevity, and aesthetic appeal, the Diptyque Baies Candle is an absolute must-have.

I feel like [brand:diptyque] candles are very overhyped. I love candles and have tried several brands, but few have been as much of a disappointment as [brand:diptyque] has been. Granted the issue may have been that I tried smaller versions of their most popular candles, but the scents were very light and not unique. I even thought about saving the containers to reuse, but in the end it wasn’t worth it to rep the company. I feel like these candles get by on their absolutely gorgeous packaging/labels and cachet as an expensive brand, rather than on actual performance. I would say these would be a good gift for a person who is very brand conscious and/or into social media. LOVE this Baies diffuser. I’m rather sensitive to scent, so I’m not great at describing notes etc… making this is more a review regarding the longevity of the Baies diffuser, since I found the Baies candle to be rather overpowering in my very small apt. The diffuser is an elegant glass vessel with rattan reeds and 200ml of scented oil. Upon purchase, I put half the oil (100ml) and one reed in the glass vessel… I added a second reed a month and 1/2 later once I became accustomed to the scent. The Diptyque associate said the 200ml usually lasts six months… but since I have not added anymore oil to the vessel, I’m only using two reeds, and it’s 3 and 1/2 months after purchase (photo was taken just seconds ago), I’m hoping I can make it last much longer. Beautiful Scent, But....

I received this candle today. I knew the brand Diptyque but not the fragrance of Baies. It was bought as a birthday treat to myself. It's absolutely glorious, a fresh, intoxicating and clean scent which makes our lounge smell absolutely beautiful without the candle even being lit.The candle, however when unboxed wasn't pristine. All of the way around the inside lip of the glass holder and going almost down to the candle there was a covering of very thick and unslightly wax (I think it can be wiped off)As a very expensive candle it's disappointing I have to do that, it really should be perfect when unboxed as it's a premium product.I'd be really embarrassed if I'd bought it for a gift because it looked like it should of beenrejected before being boxed and ...Ā MoreI received this candle today. The candle's scent is a beautiful blend of blackcurrant leaves and roses, creating a fresh and floral aroma that fills the room. The candle's design is sleek and modern, making it a stylish addition to any room. The quality of the candle is top-notch, as it burns evenly and has a long-lasting scent. Overall, the Diptyque Baies candle is a perfect gift for loved ones or a treat for yourself. It's a high-end candle that will make any room feel more luxurious and relaxing.

I got the 70g candle as part of a set with the oval and spray. I hadn't tried this scent before and unfortunatley am not a great fan of it in candle form. The scent is unremarkable but not unpleasant. I enjoyed using it but cannot say that I would buy a full size as it is too subtle and needs to be used in a small room. It was good to be able to try a smaller size as part of the set but it's not remarkable enough for me to purchase unless it were in a sale - and even then I probably wouldn't bother. Blackcurrent and rose is just not an interesting combination.

Smells like Rose and Freesia, with a definite fruity note too, Blackcurrant predominantly. Hands down the most expensive candle I've ever purchased (was $65 USD for 6.5 oz when I purchased this, but nowadays costs nearer $74 USD). However, I've had it for almost 2 years and not even a third of the way through it (burning it on average once every week) so value for money is actually pretty good. Takes about 15 minutes before the fragrance reaches the edges of a moderate sized room and even after blowing out, I still get a good amount of scent for the next hour or so. The fragrance, although not my absolute favorite from the Diptyque range, is still nice enough: both mildly sweet and a very clean floral that's elegant without being too stuffy - which is why I tend to ...Ā MoreSmells like Rose and Freesia, with a definite fruity note too, Blackcurrant predominantly. There are luxury items that are worth the cost, and luxury items that are overpriced and overhyped. This candle is in the latter category. It’s not particularly beautiful, well-crafted, special or unique. The Baies scent is also cloyingly sweet. The moment I unboxed it and saw how small and basic it was I felt ridiculous. Deservedly so. (Side note: in the time it’s taken me to fire off this negative review I’ve developed a raging headache letting it sit, unlit, on my kitchen counter.) There are better candles out there at this price point, and many others for far less. Don’t spend $80 on a tiny average candle. It won’t fit your makeup brushes or a decent cocktail when it’s gone, either, so don’t justify it with that.

Unfortunately, I didn’t even get to light this candle up before returning it back to the store. For a candle that costs that much, I was so disappointed when I opened the packaging and saw that the wax had ā€œwet spotsā€, making it appear like it hasn’t been poured properly. I have seen candles from different price points much lower than $80+ that are better presented and smelt better than this. I simply couldn’t understand this because Jo Malone candles for example cost much more but are still able to deliver well presented looking candles. For a higher end candle like Diptyque’s my expectations were not met, and on returning this, the sales assistant advised me that this was ā€œnormalā€ and all Diptyque the candles had this. If Diptyque or Mecca included this in their website or product description as something ā€œnormalā€, I probably would have been less disappointed, but there is zero information saying this was normal. To top it off, I couldn’t even get a refund because the plastic packaging was opened, despite the candle itself not being used. If you care about the presentation and how the actual product looks on your table/desk etc, forget about getting a diptyque as all you’ll see are these wet spots that look quite cheap.

I really love candles and this one is one of my favorite. It smells exquisite yet not really overpowering and its fragrance still nicely fills the room. It looks rather beautiful as a room decoration. The scent is so interesting, intriguing and it is not just about flowers and berries. I found it much more complicated than that. It definitely creates a special atmosphere. Once, while the candle was burning I was watching some classic Italian horror movie that was more about Beauty and Art and fragility than about horrors. And this scent added more mystery and let me dive deeper into this mesmerizing and frightening ambiance. It was really such an exciting experience. I absolutely recommend. Great as a gift.
