The DJI Mavic 2 Zoom has been one of the most versatile drones on the market with 2x optical zoom, which has significant benefits over digital zoom, along with class leading safety technology and flight performance. The Optical Zoom camera means the sensor is not cropping in to create the zoom, rather the physical lens itself is moving. This allows the Mavic 2 Zoom to do it’s incredibly popular feature, the Dolly Zoom. Not only that, the Mavic 2 Zoom has a super resolution mode where it will take a 48MP photo through stitching individual photos together to create a really high definition photo. The safety features as well with omni-directional sensing and OcuSync 2.0 with a maximum transmission range of up to 10km.

The Mavic 2 Zoom is a great drone. Although, it is expensive, you get what you pay for! It is very easy to learn how to fly a drone with this model, it has great picture and the zoom allows for closeups that you can't get from other drones. I use it for work to view areas on buildings, when otherwise I would need a long ladder. It is extremely fun to fly and there are a lot of videos that have tutorials on how to use it at your disposal on the internet, which is extremely helpful. If you have the money to get the Mavic 2 Zoom, get one, i recommend it. Be sure to get additional batteries when you do. The Fly More kit is worth the additional money, and all of the accessories that come with it make it a good value. I typically get about 26 to 28 minutes of flying time when I am flying because I fly on sports mode and this mode will use up more of the battery due to the speeds and the maneuvering. Tripod mode will get the 31 minutes of fly time as it is advertised. The are so many features on the drone that, if you are interested in one, you should look up videos online to see what all this machine can do. Far too many to list!

After much deliberation based on price and functionality I decided on the M2 Zoom.Plus: Compact and easy to pack and travel with. Standard controller fits well to hand and holds a good charge. Flight time is as advertised. Camera is every bit as good if not better than the Phantom 4 plus you have zoom.Challenges: Might have some issues with oversize phones I'm using an iPhone XS with standard issue cover and it fits well enough, anything bigger would be awkward. I'm spoiled with the flight characteristics of the Phantom 4, the Mavic 2 is a hot rod and just needs a few adjustments on the control response to get it where I need it. Very happy with purchase.

Rented a DJI Mavic 2 Zoom and the gimbal was damaged causing the image to shake when performing simple maneuvers. Performed gimbal calibration which didn’t fix the issue. I’m currently waiting on DJI support to resolve the issue. Long time customer and first time I’ve had this problem with LR.

Its awesome.Theres no denying it.I upgraded because of having lost my Phantom 4 Special Edition Black on a failed Litchi waypoints mission. I was devastated. I use drones for both personal and professional purposes, so I didnt want to be without one in case of a paid opportunity. It was about a month from black Friday, so I was wondering if DJI was going to put the new Mavics on sale, but through some searching, found out that none of the newer model drones were, so I pulled the trigger.Im 100% satisfied with my choice.First off, I, for one, dont personally buy into the hype with the new optics in either of the new Mavic 2s. I even feel like my P4 took absolutely outstanding photos and video. I personally dont feel like theres usually much of a reason for me ... MoreIts awesome.Theres no denying it.I upgraded because of having lost my Phantom 4 Special Edition Black on a failed Litchi waypoints mission. I even feel like my P4 took absolutely outstanding photos and video. I personally dont feel like theres usually much of a reason for me to shoot in 4k either, as the files are massive and harder to handle and upload, and I just dont feel like the hassle is worth the minuscule amount of clarity for an already HD YouTube video (or for any of the footage Ive needed for a client). Some may feel differently about this. Maybe even a lot of you. That being said, the zoom function is the selling point, hands down. With the extra functions and abilities, its got a massive edge on its brethren. Dolly zoom, getting close ups in different situations... its hugely useful. I do boating videos, and next season, when I dont have to worry about staying within a certain range of a speeding boat and Ill still be able to fill the frame with ease, Ill be singing the praises of the zoom function still. The other functions - timelapse, shutter speed controls, and (upgraded) active track are also EXTREMELY welcome upgrades from the P4, and will be something I will use very frequently.Secondly, I chose the Racing Goggles pack instead of the Fly More pack. Being able to track an object by moving my head will be so, so... SO MUCH EASIER! Im super excited to put it in my arsenal. Again, with moving targets, it will be massively easier to focus on my subjects and get AMAZING footage! (As ridiculous as it is to have VR goggles on : / )Lastly, it flies great. Not outstanding, but great. It has different characteristics than the P4, I cant really say better or worse, but different. Ive been struggling to dial in the controls to respond the way I was used to with the P4, but Ill get it. Its very responsive, quieter, and every bit as fun to fly as the P4. When I get it where I want it and get used to it for a bit, I know Ill easily like it more.If youre debating the same way I did, just get it. Youll love it.: )
I upgraded to the DJI Mavic 2 Zoom from a Phantom Advanced 3. I love all of the smart flying features this drone gives along with the lossless 2x zoom. Anyone who is looking to upgrade, this is the way to go. The zoom wasnt the selling point but it has proved itself worth the money. I also wasnt very familiar with all of the sensors since the P3A didnt have many but this Mavic 2 seems nearly impossible to crash with the technology sensors, it is very safe and I fly this thing more and more because of the size, quality, and excitement that I get. Its not only for my business needs but also for my entertainment because its so fun and easy to fly.One major call out is that shooting in 120fps is absolutely rubbish, I wouldnt use that FPS for anything. The quality looks like its shot at 480 and upscaled to 1080. I hope DJI comes out with an update to the firmware to make this a viable solution for filming. Also, the fly more combo kit is nice but to be fair, the bag is not useable as you have to shove everything in there it doesnt fit nicely. I actually ordered another case from amazon and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and fit.
The Mavic 2 Zoom is a great new hobby. I am 73 and love this product. I struggled for a while between the M2 Zoom and the M2 Pro. I am a Part 107 pilot and do aerial work for money. Ultimately, it came down to the ability to zoom that won me over to the M2 Zoom.Six months (and about 12 paid gigs) later, I am happy that I went with the Zoom. I have used this function for some pretty creative shots that clients have been thrilled with. The Dolly Zoom is very easy to over-do; however, in the right circumstances, it makes for a wonderful shot that clients like. Just don't over-do it. Several dolly zoom shots in a 2-3 minute video will get old, real quick.I should note that my original M2 Zoom that I purchased freaked out on me about 3 months in (it couldn't calibrate the compass); DJI Support was great, and after a short diagnosis, they ... MoreI struggled for a while between the M2 Zoom and the M2 Pro. The zoom function just opens up a whole new world of creativity.
After spending several hrs online reading and watching videos on proper operation I finally flew the drone, it’s not a cheap toy.I purchased a much less expensive drone last year for training before making the leap. I have to say it is in leap in price and performance. As long as you follow the on screen instructions and calibrate the unit and eliminate any obstruction it is very stable and I haven’t had any issues with control. It has a great camera and flight times seem around 25mins per battery which should improve with proper conditioning. I suggest getting the fly more kit however the carrying case is way too small for everything so purchase a larger case you’ll need it for the accessories.Overall I’m very impressed with the drone and the obstacle avoidance ... MoreAfter spending several hrs online reading and watching videos on proper operation I finally flew the drone, it’s not a cheap toy.I purchased a much less expensive drone last year for training before making the leap. This is a wonderfull addition to the DJI platforms. It is as described and should remain relevant for the next few years. I returned the Mavic Air for the Pro Zoom and am not disappointed. The big wins for me includes the quietness (it does make a difference), extended battery life, zoom camera, remote control, and the connectivity. I think the Air is great but per my experience, the Pro is a much more serious platform. There is a minor learning curve but this is very easy to fly. My only complaints thus far are the strobes cannot be seen after a short distance and needs to be much brighter. The same for the color as it truly blends with the environment after 100 ft or so. Also, the propellers are very light thus easily damaged but again, all things considered, this ... MoreThis is a wonderfull addition to the DJI platforms. As always, please do your research before purchasing as BB has a 15% restocking fee. Hope this helps.
The Zoom is DEFINITELY the way to go. Unless you shoot 90% at night, the zoom provides SO much more goodness for average shooters.Broadcast quality, long distance shots are quiet, dolly zoom/parallax, plenty of 4k (30), and during the day the quality is all that you'll ever need.Fast, light, 30 minute flight, nearly unlimited range. The zoom SMOKES the overrated "Hasselcrap" in every way, except for one. NIGHT and (really) low light. Dusk is the max you'd want with the Zoom. But, if you shoot during the day (MUST) using an ND4, 8, or 16 filter (plus UV) to get down to that magic 1/60th shutter speed (without blowing out the video during the day) using 4k @ 24 frames and the Zoom's quality will rival anything out there. The ONLY THING that would make this drone better would be F-stop (aperature) control. Close to a perfect drone, for the price.
