DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus V2.0 - Drone Quadcopter UAV with 20MP Camera 1"

I purchased a cheap $100 drone thinking I needed to train before I stepped up to this drone. Total waste of time and money. This drone is so easy to fly it's shocking. They say you can use an Android device to control this drone but I would say that is harder than it is worth. I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and spent 3 days trying to get the tablet to link to the remote reliably. Power cycle the tablet, remote and tablet 15 times and out of 15 tries the tablet would only connect one or two times. I am pretty technically clever but could not get the android to work consistently. I read many, many blogs and online forums trying to resolve this issue but nothing worked. After 3 days of messing with the android tablet I downloaded the app for DJI to my wife's ipad and it worked instantly with no issues. No matter what order you power up the tablet, remote and drone the app just works every time with ipad. This pains me to say because I have never owned an iPhone or any other Apple products and I am a huge droid fan, but the ipad just worked. Last thing you want to happen while your drone is for the tablet to disconnect and you can't reconnect it reliably. I returned the Samsung Tab S2 and purchased an ipad mini 4 and was flying in lass than a hour later. I would give this drone a 5 star rating but DJI needs to be more clear that ipad devices work better than android devices.

I have 2 DJI Mavic Pro's and loved them so much I wanted to check out the Phantom 4 Pro for the additional features not in the Mavic. The maiden flight was okay, but lost video signal a couple times - just a few flickers. But, 2nd flight was bad. Lost video feed to my iPad mini 4, and sensors indicated i'd be like 15 feet from an object that was more like 200 feet away (I was way up in the air). Obstacle avoidance became an issue and I had purchased the propeller guards so I didn't hurt the drone when I intentionally tested as I flew it slowly into various obstacles (the guards prevented me from crashing).I called DJI tech support and they said to upgrade firmware for both the RC and the Drone. No control - up, down, forward, back, sideways... nothing. Freaked me out as I was over a small river near the park at the time. It was a safe place to fly (no EMF anywhere). But, it's too dangerous to fly. I sent back to DJI Drone Cameras and bought a new one that arrives in a couple days. I'll give it one more try - if no good - no more P4P for me - I'll stick with the Mavic (love those little guys).

You will read that DJI has terrible customer support, but in reality, it is not that bad. Could it be better? yes it could, but for the most part DJI does a good job!When you crash, they will analyze your flight data, and if they determine that you did not cause the accident, they will repair your drone for free. The problems with customer support boil down to the fact that when someone makes a mistake, they just can't admit that they did something wrong, so they blame DJI. I have been following the DJI forums for the past 6 months, and for every one time where DJI admits a mistake, and repairs a drone for free, there are about 10 times where the operator made a mistake, and wants a free drone. So from my perspective, you have a lot of people that just can't admit that they made a mistake, and they get mad when they have to pay to repair the drone. Last point. If you can't afford to lose 1500.00 then don't buy this drone. Ever time you go out to fly, you could lose your drone. If you can't afford for that to happen then buy a cheaper drone, or find a different hobby! don't save up for months or years, and have it all gone in a day!I bought the Phantom 4 Pro used, like new, and I have had zero issues with the drone. It had been flown 2 time when I check the flight data. The Phantom 4 Pro was in pristine condition, and If I had not checked the logs I would have never known that it had been flown. I feel like I got a great deal by buying the open box version. I saved about 270.00 dollars!

Brilliant Aerial Imaging Platform

This revision of the Phantom 4 Drone is a brilliant imaging platform and the available reviews are pretty much on point. This prosumer Drone blurs the line between prosumer and the more expensive professional products out there.The 2.0 version with the integrated controller screen has some interesting features issues that may, or may not cause problems for the unaware. The integrated screen has a nice bright display but one will give up all the benefits of using your own iPad for that function. I could find no way to download apps as the documentation doesn't mention how to do that. The drone could not read the card and no amount of formatting could solve the problem. I think the issue may be in the firmware. While this may not be a show stopper, it is not acceptable to me for a new product to ship with an issue like this. This appears to be a widespread problem if you read the support blogs.So there you have it, a brilliant piece of hardware with some minor flaws in the integrated controller/display that may indicate it was rushed to market. Can't use with DroneDepoly or 3rd Party software

We bought this to augment an older drone that is used to create orthomosaics and fly pre-planned missons. We use DrondDepoly and Drone2Map. Using the Pro+ version with the DJI screen precludes you from using 3rd party software for flights. Drone itself is good, DJI locking up 3rd party access, not so great.

What a letdown - my guess is that DJI rushed this little abortion into production and screwed up, well, just about everything. Straight out of the box, the controller would not bind to the drone. After a few hours' investigation, I discovered that the Chinese factory installed incompatible versions of firmware in the drone and controller. So you simply upgrade the firmware, right? Wrong. After installing the latest firmware (you have to do it several times before I finally "takes"!), the aircraft would not function at all (solid-red status lights). Other things of note:1) The GPS on my unit occasionally does not work (at all...zero signal)2) Radio transmitter power drops 3dB for every 15 degree C increase in temperature (I own a spectrum analyzer). A similar problem occurs on the video downlink.3) The software continually complains about EMI - even when I conducted all of my testing in a shielded room!!!4) My unit, out-of-the box, refuses to use the 5 GHz ISM band (2.4 GHz only). This is a huge disadvantage if you live in an urban area where the 2.4GHz band is crowded.Summary: Avoid the Version 2 of this product like the plague. It's a prescription for heartburn, pure and simple.BTW- my drone never spun its propellers once after 8 hours of intensive research into its multitudinous problems. It's going back to B&H on Monday. It will be a long time before I trust DJI ever again!

Don't expect it to work well more than 2-3 years

I was mostly satisfied with my Phantom 4+ v1, other than blown out highlights on the majority of my shots shooting in shutter priority mode mostly. However, after a couple of years, I had consistent problems with it losing the GPS signal. Repeated communications with DJI tech support and sending them my logs twice, they didn't even give me the courtesy of a response. HORRIBLE customer service from tech support! Then, one day it strayed off course on its own and crash into a tree. My P4 v2.0 is still flying, but I will be looking at other brands for a replacement.

Everything As Expected

I waited a long time to step up from the original Phantom 4...and the Phantom 4 Pro V2 is exactly the upgrade I would expect from DJI - the camera and the drone all function exactly as promised! If you've been using a Phantom 4, this is what you've already got but improved...if you been using another model DJI or another brand, this is the drone that lets you produce professional quality photo and videos without going into the Inspire price zone.As a professional photographer and videographer, I am very particular about gear, quality and dependability...DJI meets all the standards and has continued to improve while maintaining the standards they began with as a drone company.If you are thinking you want this drone, get it! Phantom 4 Pro Plus V2.0 is far better than any version of the Mavic (in my opinion)

I have had three Phantom 4 Pro drones and one Mavic Pro with DJI Goggles, each has performed splendidly. It amazes me tho, at how much more stable the Phantoms are in any wind speeds compared to the Mavic Pro. The Phantom is Rock Steady! When you let the controls go this baby stays put where it is at. The Phantom is a durable uav, I crashed my third Pro Plus and the battery popped out due to hitting the ground so hard after bouncing off a pine tree. I reinstalled the battery and it flew with no problem or visible damage. The Return-To-Home function has saved the day several times from a mile over the lake to losing signal behind trees. It has always made it back home safely. I live in a rural area with lots of cell towers and WiFi around. The camera far exceeds any other drone in this price range as well (in my opinion) although I was impressed with the Autel EVO II Pro camera. DJI Phantom 4 Pro Plus is my drone of choice. Buy and fly with confidence!

When it works it's good.

Originally purchased this with the understanding that dji made quality products. Not so much. For a drone costing $2,400 I would expect a lot more than what I got. For starters, the gimbal broke only after about 6-7 flights. No wrecks. Had to send in for repair since it was past the warranty. $466 later and I get it back working. I'm starting to notice the casing around the batteries are cracking. I've had other drones much cheaper than this with little to no problems. I also have two mavic minis (gen 1 & gen 2) and both are starting to develop motor problems. Disappointing to see how low quality the drones are.
