Always wanted to have an RC with a built in screen however the DJI RC PRO is just too expensive. I'm sure if you're a pro cinematographer you can spend that coin.Very light weight, great screen, good battery life, good range with no antennas to mess with. Works with a few drones that DJI has.

Got this for Xmas to use w/ my Air2s. Started charging and died w/in 30 minutes. Will not turn on or charge. BB can't replace it for two weeks. Based on this, not sure if I will replace it or not. This is pretty crappy for a brand new unit and does not inspire confidence in the hardware.Does not come with a charging brick. This is a cheap move by DJI, as the unit only works w/ a 10w charger (per DJI) or the 15w DJI one. When selling this standalone, it's a cheap move to not include the correct adapter. I used a brick I already had that was rated at 10w and it was charging fine at first - this makes me think this device is more voltage sensitive than DJI is pretending.I might update this if I replace the unit, but more likely I will stick with my reliable RC N-1 ... It takes longer to setup - but that's only meaningful if the other remote works, which this does not.

I purchased the RC controller to use with my Aires and I could not be happier, after updating the firmware it easily connected with the drone and is so easy to use. I no longer have to tether my phone to the controller. The screen is large and easy to see even in bright sunlight. I highly recommend the RC controller for your DJI drone.

Awesome Controller with a Great Screen, good buttons, good battery, and dual wheels for gimbal and zoom.It has a 5.5" screen which is plenty and never seems small, its a super clear screen and ive used it during sunny days at the beach many times with no sun glare or brightness issues. Feels really nice to hold and feels high quality everywhere you look. Even the metal heatsink on the back is nicely integrated into the design. For $300 its well worth it over a smart controller or an RC Pro ($$$$).Though on the Standard controller you could make the single wheel do Zoom by holding the FN button and then move the wheel. Works fine as well.I just like the convenience of this and i also like the fact that it's simple to just put a big capacity SD card in it, and just not have to worry about it.Plus being able to move files from the controller to the PC by just using a micro SD is super easy vs dealing with my iPhone Screen Recordings exporting, or not lol..Plus i like to keep it seperate and neat by just having all my Drone videos in the controller's memory, internal/external, rather than have it taking up space in my iphone. The Bad:$310 is not a lot of money for what you get with this controller, but its still another $350 w/ Tax for a controller. Definitely more money than buying a nice used Android Phone or Tablet with a bigger and Higher Resolution screen for say $100.. But that defeats the whole purpose of having the built in screen. But it is still an alternative, and cheaper option for sure, to not have to use your personal cellphone's.Another bad thing to note about this controller when stock, is the range vs the RC-N1 Standard Controller. This is even more exaggerated on smaller drones that have much smaller built-in antenna setups like my Mini 3 Pro or a Mini 2.Its really not as bad on my Air 2S. But after looking into it more, I found out that the Air 2S has double the amount of Antenna's from the Receiver. The Air 2S has Four Full size antenna's, where as the mini 3 pro only has Two of those.Which explains why i experience the decreased range so much more while flying the Mini 3 Pro in Urban Area's.BUT there's no denying that if I know i'm going far or a slightly bigger screen, i'll use the "Regular" DJI N1 Phone Controller and my iPhone 13 Pro Max.My BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that you can't Install and use Android Apps, when its clearly running Android in the background. That would be the ONE thing i wish it had.Bassically, if you're thinking about getting this controller, especially to have the have the Built-In screen, I would absolutely go for it, you wont be dissapointed in the screen quality or the controller quality, including the better Joysticks. Just be sure to test out the Range in your area, if you fly long range, to see if you notice any differences.
The RC-N1 (controller without the screen) is a nice size and weight. Batttery last a long time and all. The one thing I don't like is that the screen on iOS devices and probably even Androids dims down really dark when it's hot and you've been using it for a few minutes. Of course this is not the fault of the controller but the phones.Anyhow, with this DJI RC controller, the screen doesn't dim when it gets hot it stays at a good level that you can see. Very crisp screen too at 1080p. Very lightweight and compact. You don't have to mess around with antennas cause they're built in and have good range. Control sticks are buttery smooth, which makes flying very enjoyable.
Eliminates the need to use your smartphone and a remote as the screen for the DJI Fly app. Screen is pretty bright and the latest firmware update allows you to download maps to a MicroSD card for offline use when outside the range of Wi-Fi. You can also connect the remote to your smartphone if it has a hotspot feature and use the maps in that manner. Like all drone-related electronics, I wish the battery life was longer.
The price is right! This controller is worth every penny. The display is bright and readable... and it maintains a solid transmission lock with the helicopter. No problem with screen flickering. The ability of this controller to easily switch between drones is a big plus. Now I only need one controller for a Mavic 3, Mini 3 Pro and my Air 2S.
I struggled with just keeping my stock control for my Mavic 3, didn't like the fumbling with the phone. Kept watching reviews for the RC Pro, and was loving it, but the price point is too steep. When I finally started looking at this one, I was amazed at how much you get for the low price. Got it, and zero regrets, it's perfect. Only give it four stars because I would have liked HDMI out so I can attach it to another monitor, other than that, no need to spend over $1K for a heavier controller with the same size screen and only missing HDMI unless you really need it for commercial work.
The Good:- Bright screen, doesn't dim like on iOS- Two control wheels, allowing one for exposure offset- Two custom buttons- Lighter weight than standard controller, especially when adding iOS deviceThe Bad:- AirSense is limited to 1000', so aircraft is basically ON TOP OF YOU when it shows up.- Screen not as responsive as with iOS, with some delay in actions.- No quick way to quit and re-open the app if it glitches or freezes.- New type of joystick, not compatible with older models... and can't control without the joysticks attached (something I do for finer control)- Less battery life than standard RC-1 (2.5hrs vs 6hrs)- Screen recording is lower quality than with iOS- No external display output.- Disconnects from Wifi+Bluetooth upon ... (The LUT lifts the exposure)- DJI Fly app has changed the histogram to the old (good) way, so Color Display Assist does not affect it (a good thing), BUT it still behaves differently in 5.1K. This makes it confusing when the histogram changes between different resolutions.- The RC version of the DJI Fly app is outdated, and doesn't have the same features as the iOS app... considerably, the AirSense 'sensitivity' options.Notes about the Mavic 3 and the Fly App:- When taking long exposures (at night), the display is extremely noisy with a magenta cast. It is not properly showing what a long exposure might look like.
I fly with an air2s. I been stuck in screen remote purgatory. The smart controller was old and laggy. the RC pro was more money than my drone. finally they made the RC compatible and its everything I needed.
