Using this with a Nikon Z6II & 24-70mm f/4 combo and it handle this weight with ease. The auto lock feature makes transport fast for run and gun shots. Extra features like the pano and timelapse functions are a great bonus as well as other app features for solo film makers. As a first time gimbal user I found this easy to set up and use. Highly recommend as an entry to gimbals.

I had the DJI Ronin S before this. After using the original ronin S, this thing feels like a dream. I can balance the gimbal with my Sony FX3 in about 60 seconds.The auto lock feature on the motors is a game changer. Screen is extremely user friendly and easy to see. The Bluetooth connection with my fx3 works flawlessly, I have never powered on my camera and not had it connect immediately.One of my favorite features is not a feature at all, it is extremely lightweight. I was worried that the gimbal would struggle with my fully built out FX3 but it has not at all. I have had my FX3 (with a full cage) and Cine glass on the RS3 and been able to capture silky smooth footage.This gimbal is a champ, you definitely are getting way more than what you're paying for.

No silly carrying case, no excessive cables.For some reason they choose to swap the M and record buttons. Having just memorized the RS2 layout this is annoying. Having other functions on M besides lock the screen or take a photo would be great. No reason it couldn't do other things.The auto locking motors are interesting, in my unit they also make a terrible screech noise that I'm really hoping is a defect and not intentional. Ok so out of the box it was worse than my weeble S by a long way, but after some setting tweaks this is the best gimbal I have ever used! and do NOT underestimate the ability to tap the power button to lock it or long-press the power button to fold it up. As a wedding filmmaker, this feature alone is a game-changer, no more gimbal freak-out when it is just sitting there somewhere left on. The micro balancing knob is a dream! The supersmooth setting calibration is other worldly. Battery life will make it through an 8 to 10-hour wedding. May get another battery handle to have on hand. The screen is big and easy to read. Would surely be a 5-star if DJI would at least put a card in the box that says TWEAK SETTING FIRST or your gimbal is going to stink lol!
From The DJI RS 3 User Manual v1.2 page 8:DJI RS 3 supports up to five uses without activation. After that, activation is required for further use.Activation is done through a smartphone app you must install that requests your location information and then you must create an account on DJI's website to complete the process.I deeply resented the whole process; I don't think it should be necessary and I don't see why I should be forced to give a company my personal information for the right to use a tool I bought from them.Functionally, the gimbal seems fine as I would expect from the glowing reviews I read prior to purchase, but had I known about the registration nonsense I would have looked at other options on principal.
Slightly lighter than the RS2, but a more appropriate fit for my particular camera & lens setup. I couldn't get the bluetooth wireless shutter function to connect with Canon 90D even though it's on the list of compatible cameras. Has an especially "plastic" feeling compared to RS2, but still solid kit.Wish I could purchase the case separately, as the RS3 Combo basically comes with the external focus motor and a case, and while I will always use the case I will never use the focus motor. According to DJI I should have sent in my second gimbal and 1 either be without a gimbal 2 buy a third gimbal. Not having a gimbal isn't an option in my professional work. I have been practicing daily, and I expect that the payoff -the increased variety of possible shots- will be worth the money and the effort.I think it's worth mentioning that one will benefit from doing some research about the camera you choose to put on the RS3 and how the devices will relate to each other. I bought a Sigma Fp, first for its price/performance promise (which promise it has kept in spades!), but also thinking that, among other things, it would, because of its light weight, be a good fit for a gimbal. But because the Sigma has only one Usb C port which is the only conduit for getting the camera's highest quality or for connecting the camera to the RS3, one needs to choose which capability to use. I found that that best solution was to add an Atomos Ninja V to the rig. Although this does add some weight, the availability of a monitor is worth it. The Sigma FP has neither a flip screen nor impressive continuous autofocus, but the focus peaking feature on the Ninja V as well as the impressive focus dial on the RS3 makes for a most usable trio. I don't mean to sound like I'm knocking the Sigma Fp. I'm not. I would buy it again. The images it makes are gorgeous. I would also buy the RS3 again, and I recommend it. But, if you are starting from scratch it would be worth knowing everything you can about how your devices work together and whether they'll accomplish everything you want them to do. If had been decision-making about an entire package, rather than starting with the camera, I might not have chosen the Sigma Fp as the best choice for a gimbal camera.There are two things I would change about the RS3: I would make the briefcase handle so that it could double as a side handle, either by adding a hinge to it or devising the nato connector so that it could be flipped ninety degrees. As it is, I have had to purchase a side handle separately. The other small complaint is that the fitting near the roll axis motor is sticky and not at all easy to adjust as are the tilt and pan fittings. I have given the device 5 stars. If I could, I would rate it 4 and a half.

So, I had to put the gimbal away and finish the shoot without it. This is an outrageous failure in customer support. No company should force users to register their product with them in this way, creating a built-in obsolescence that sabotages the user unless they agree to register. After I got home I was able to register the gimbal and continue using it. If I hadn't already used it once I would have returned it. Safe to say, DJI has lost me as a customer for their gimbal products in the future--I will happily switch to a different brand the next time I purchase a gimbal.
