Desktop mic stand a must for podcasting.
It is well-built for its price. If anything, the base could have been slightly heavier. It topples over with the weight of my SM57. I have to counter-balance it.
Poor design, very tippy when there is a mic (I used an AT2020) and the boom is extended all the way, poor design.The base, although weighted, is just too small a footprint to make this stand stable.I've kept the stands and not returned them simply because they're affordable but seriously if a manufacturer is going to make a boom mic stand they could at least make it hold a weight at the extended boom or post specs to what the extended book can safely hold.Currently, I have the Audio-Technica AT2020 and anything thing past 20% extended and the boom is very 'tippy' anything past 50% extended and the boom/stand tips over very easily. At 100% extended the stand will not stay upright and falls.
Some rust dots on the lower part of the make it look like used, but the functionality is fine. It's doing the job holding up my microphone as it should.
