For the first few days of use I was putting my ear against the motor compartment to check if it was running it is that quiet. You can't even hear the fridge motor start up its that quiet. Internal light, lights up the inside well too. Overall, great product so far.

I was tossing up between this and the new Engel 60L. Went with this instead mainly because of weight and space savings. I have to say, this fridge is so quiet and very efficient. Dometic clearly did their homework with this new compressor. Excellent. I thought the wifi and Bluetooth thing was a gimmick, but I have to say, it's very good. I can see fridge current draw over time and work out how to save power when needed to. Very impressed. Good purchase.

An absolute rippper of a purchase. Went on a 10 night treck away and didnt miss a beat. Also pretty quiet. We have a 100ah nomad DPU to power it. Only downside would be the low voltage cut out appears to be at the middle range default and not the low level voltage as quoted in manual. Even ensuring it is set on low

Some have noted it's "quieter than expected" - not sure what they were expecting but it's definitely not something I'd want to sleep near. I move it to the car boot when camping at night (I don't expect there is a single compressor fridge that I wouldn't do this to, though).It's a much nicer design, and pretty slim when compared to competitors of equal capacity. The controls and wifi/BT are a nice (but not really needed) extra. The phone app lets you see the history of the temp or change it remotely (which we all totally need).
The fridge runs nice and quiet and is very efficient on power. The app and screen updates from the earlier CFX models are really good (bluetooth app, power usage monitoring, and the screen on the fridge goes to sleep when not being used so it's not glaring blue the whole time).
I bought this for a second fridge / freezer. Tested it out on the same battery in same conditions and it used roughly the same amps as my 60l engel maybe a bit more. I had to take my first one back because it had a cosmetic defect in the inside.should have been sold as seconds. Dometic Customer service is like a nightmare to try and get hold of.
Purchased just before Xmas 2022 to use initially as a drinks fridge on Xmas Day using 240V. Has worked faultlessly since, the fridge gets cold quickly and keeps drinks to temperature. The fridge easily handles tall wine bottles (eg riesling or bubbly) and has great capacity. The external temp gauge and settings make life easy. I'll eventually test it on 12V in the SUV for day trips and camping. But so far so good.
Was originally going for the 60L Engel, but it has the power cord coming out the front so would not fit this CFX3-55 was the biggest we could get in our camper fridge draw. Was pleasently suprised by the Dometic though, nicely built and gets everything down to temp well. Not too hungry on power and the digital display and USB charge point was handy on our recent 5 day trip. Great upgrade in space from our previous smaller fridge.I tried out the phone app and works well, but not finding I need to use that though.BCF price matched the fridge with other which dropped price $100, but did buy the protective cover from the competition though as had mutch better price than BCF.
Haven't had a chance to take it away yet, but it's been running since it arrived four weeks ago. I've used it with both 240v and 12v without a problem, except when using it with 12v from a 70a/h battery pack. The battery pack has had an error and cut-out several times, whether that was the fault of the fridge or the battery, who knows. Either way, I was onto it quickly, the battery re-set ok, and I'll keep an eye on that when I take it away - nobody wants a warm fridge! Other than that, it keeps everything nice and cold, and it's nice and quiet.I'm definitely happy with it.
I looked at every fridge in Australia. Chose this based on design, technology, weight and practicality. Great product, fits well into the back of the Prado without taking up the entire boot. Nice to have the app to check on it periodically and USB charger is handy for phone and drone. Would recommend.
