Don Julio Blanco Tequila 750 ml

Using the finest blue agave plant and a time-honored distillation process, Don Julio Blanco Tequila is tequila in its truest form. Commonly referred to as “silver” tequila, the crisp agave flavor and hints of citrus make our blanco tequila an essential component to a variety of innovative drinks. This luxury tequila is double-distilled and made from pure unaged agave, making it perfect for any celebration. Simply mix with grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice and agave nectar and pour over ice for a refreshing tasting Don Julio Paloma. Includes one 80 proof 50 mL bottle of Blanco Tequila. Don Julio tequila is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, one of the country’s most fertile agave-growing regions. The microclimate and mineral-rich clay soil allow the blue agave plant to flourish. Each bottle of Don Julio tequila is produced here and features our NOM number — our seal of authenticity — signifying where the tequila was made. This is by far my favorite tequila. It's smooth when you take shots. I love it in mixed drinks as well. I never get hangovers from it. It's kind of expensive but well worth it. I would definitely recommend this tequila.

This tequila is so incredibly smooth and burns very little when consuming straight. It is a little pricier but totally worth it. I paid around 70 dollars for the bottle but it was a gift set and came with cute salsa bowls! My first time consuming I will admit I drank a little too much and my go to line was , "Don did me dirty" (lol) I didn't get sick but I did wake up with a headache. I know it was totally my fault because I only slept a few hours and had to get up early the next day. To sum it up, just pace yourself, ecspecially when taking shots. This is a great quality product!

After my hardcore party years, I started to notice what liquors work with me and which ones don't. I'm a white tequila girl. Patron gets all the hype but I prefer Don Julio hands down. Let's be honest, no one drinks because they enjoy the taste of hard liquor straight. (It's all about the buzz) I really enjoy Don Julio because it mixes easy with everything I've tried thus far.(It doesn't add a weird aftertaste like patron) It's very smooth considering it's a top shelf tequila(Opposite of 1800) I Love it because you don't have to guzzle the whole bottle for a group to have a good time.(Not pissy drunk lol) Don Julio is a strong drink that can sneak up on you if you aren't a seasoned drinker, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone less than a weekend drinker. The color is dark amber and the taste is so velvety smooth and sweet that if it didn’t say “don julio” on the bottle, you would likely never know it was even tequila. It is the definition of a true “sipping tequila,” as the flavors slowly develop with the ice ball, transitioning from pronounced oak, almost whiskey-like notes, and then into raisin and vanilla with only a faint trace of smoke and earth. It was pretty surprising that the typical astringent "pepper and agave" that usually comes from blue agave is almost completely absent; making this one of the smoothest tequilas we have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. The other benefit of the ice ball is that, again, just like whisky, aged tequila benefits from a small amount of water to open the bouquet, and the ... MoreThe color is dark amber and the taste is so velvety smooth and sweet that if it didn’t say “don julio” on the bottle, you would likely never know it was even tequila. Black Pepper. The end
18 July 2021

I’ve had cheap $6 tequila, I’ve had Jose Cuervo, I’ve had Espolon, and Patron, all straight, and as far as flavor goes, I put this at the very bottom with that cheap $6 bottom shelf stuff you buy at frys. I tried this alongside don julio anejo and espolon blanco, and the only flavors that shine through in don julio is black pepper, meanwhile the $20 Espolon blanco at half the price shines with spicy, sweet, and sour flavors, a fruity smell, vs the lacking of smell in don julio. I think the only time I’ll use these overpriced bottles is for a beverage to go along with my scrambled eggs.

Don Julio Blanco tequila review

Okay, so I'm new to tequilas. I enjoy Margaritas and Palomas, so I began to experiment with different blanco tequilas and even some Reposado and Anejo for the Margaritas. As I write this, I have several bottles open and ready for comparison with Don Julio Blanco: Avion Silver, Patron Silver, Dos Armadillos, Siete Leguas, Herradura Silver, Casamigos and Espolon Blanco. Online reviews of DJ say something about "nose", "palate" and "finish"...terms of art with descriptions of pepper, menthol, fruit and agave. In my taste comparisons here's what I came up with: DJ has a hint of medicinal alcohol along with stronger agave aroma. I'm drinking tequila in mixed drinks, not sipping, so the aroma on the nose is irrelevant to me. Suffice it to say, none of the tequilas had a ... MoreOkay, so I'm new to tequilas. I'm drinking tequila in mixed drinks, not sipping, so the aroma on the nose is irrelevant to me. Suffice it to say, none of the tequilas had a disagreeable aroma. Some were "fruit-ier" than others, some had stronger alcohol aroma (Espolon), but all were okay. Tasting each, the most agave forward, to me, were the Avion Silver, Patron Silver and Dos Armadillos. In a Margarita, the sweetest was Cosamigos by a little bit but the Espolon was almost identical! And cost $20 dollars less. Forget you, George Clooney. Admittedly, the Patron Silver tasted very smooth in a Margarita, but the Don Julio also extremely smooth. I think Patron's rep might get in the way, since my tasting group all had raves about Don Julio in a blind taste test of margaritas. So, the bottom line is that Don Julio stands with the rest of the upper crust of blanco tequilas in making an excellent margarita...I prefer the DJ blanco to the DJ reposado that I tried side-by-side in margaritas as well. IMHO you cannot go wrong with DJ Blanco..is it "the best"? No such thing exists. And price doesn't always predict..I'm looking at you Casamigos. Espolon has your number!

Very Good

Within this price range this is an excellent tequila. Smooth, clean, and a good amount of agave flavor. Given that this is in the same price range as Patron, comparisons are pretty common. Comparing the two, Don Julio is smoother and has more agave flavor whereas Patron tastes cleaner and crisper. Don Julio is definitely the better sipping tequila and IMO better for shots. But as for cocktails, Patron's more neutral flavor makes it the better choice for that application IMO. Not that these are the only two good tequilas in that price range lol, but comparisons come up a lot so I thought I'd give my 2 cents. As a side note/recommendation, not everybody likes the more pronounced agave flavor found in tequilas like Don Julio but I personally enjoy it very much, and if ... MoreWithin this price range this is an excellent tequila. Very dissapointing. Cheaper tequilas are better
25 July 2021

I am extremely disappointed in this tequila. El Jimador is much better and for much cheaper. Don Julio Blanco didn't live up to all the hype and the flavor is odd. Save your money and buy either El Jimador (cheaper) or Avion Silver (about the same price). Avion is so much smoother and has a much better flavor than Don Julio Blanco. El Jimador also has a much better flavor than Don Julio Blanco.
