This is definitely one of my top favorites! If you like to play super Mario games you will love this one as well! You can play along with Diddy Kong! The visuals and works are so good! I enjoy playing this game and it doesn’t matter if I complete all levels , I can return and replay it all over again! It never disappoints! I enjoy the graphics and challenges this game delivers very much !

An Awesome Return

I used to play Donkey Kong Country alot when i was very little on the snes.My dad and i used to play the heck out of it, so when i saw this game come out i was shocked. Dounkey Kong Country Returns is almost just like the old snes games with 3-d put into it.This game also features 2 player co-op where one plays as dk and one as diddy kong.This was a nice feature for my friends to come and play it. The difficulty is massive compared to recent nintendo games. You will not be dissipointed with the hardness like the old games. DKCR as alot of replay value with trying to collect all the KONG letters and puzzle pieces for 100%. Note kremlings are not included and are replayced with tikis, but it does not matter. Story: A group of new enemies called the Tiki Tribe is hypnotizing animals and using them to steal all of Donkey Kong bananas. The story is simple, plus this game isn't meant to focus on story but on gameplay. Graphics: The graphic is okay. I was expecting graphics as good on metroid prime 3, but nope. Their are still some pretty good looking levels where everything is black while the sunset shines out the red tie and hat on the monkey. Music: The music is great to listen to. Each music fit the level so well, and it brings back the old days to the original Donkey Kongs game. Gameplay: The gameplay is outstanding. Mine cart levels are intense, Rambi is fun to use, and the motion controls makes it more interactive. For example, the motion controls are used to roll, ground bound, and make donkey kong blow wind to find secrets. Be warned though, the game is extremely hard, especially in the later worlds. Extras: There is a ton of content in this game. In many levels, there are puzzle pieces in secret hidden areas that will unlock images in the gallery. Also, there are KONG letters in each level which will unlock a extra stage in the end which is by far the hardest level. There is time attack mode where you basically go through each level as fast as you can. And last, there's mirror mode where every single level is reverse. Overall: I give this game a 9, its challenging and fun. If you want a hardcore 2-D plat former, than get this game.

Classic Donkey Kong

DKC is a game for the whole family! It is a game that you can always play again and again! The graphics are great and the characters are adorable but it is also very challenging! But I have to say, the deeper travel in this jungle, the better the game gets. The characters are easy to control and it is sort of old school, a traditional platformer. At times insane but quite enjoyable!:)

Didn’t Disappoint

For me Donkey Kong Country on the SNES was the first game I ever played as a kid. So to see that it Retro Studios was bringing life back to the series excited me. The game definitely doesn’t disappoint. It provides fun but challenging gameplay. Plus it is a perfect game for couch co-op. I would definitely recommend this game to any one who is a Donkey Kong Country fan. However I was worried about buying the game used online but DKoldies delivered. The games I ordered came in the mail quickly and was in great condition. DKoldies has now become one of my favorite places to buy old games.

Donkey Kong doesn't disappoint on the handheld

Picked this game up the other day prior to leaving for the beach. It was like 18 bucks or so due to being labelled a Nintendo Selects title. Couldn't pass this up at that price. It delivers the goods---if you like the Donkey Kong games that have dropped over the last few years (including Tropical Freeze on the Wii U) then you will enjoy this game on the 3ds/2ds. The makers have put a lot of detail into the graphics, sound, etc. Controls are pretty good, what you would expect from a platforming game. Not perfect, but user friendly just the same. There is a "new mode" which makes the game easier and overall I doubt I would have stayed interested too long without it. I'm biased as heck and I know it.

I grew up playing Donkey Kong Country to death. Watched my bigger bros play it first, knew most the secrets and tricks, but that didn't bother little old me because it was still hard as heck. Took me years and years of mastering the platforming controls to beat that old game. Well, playing Donkey Kong Country Returns brought me back. It's full of both nostalgic nods and innovative gameplay. I can't say it's for everyone: it's hard as heck, and knows it. But as often as me and my bro died (we played co-op the whole way through), and had to go back to get more lives, the whole do-it-for-me feature never came up. Incredible game

Played through part of chapter 1, the disc doesnt skip or anything, its exactly what it says on the tin. This is one of my favorite Paper Mario games and Im so pleased to own it. It makes me cry just to hear the music from the cutscenes that make me sob, its a lot darker and with more compelling characters than youd expect from a Paper Mario game. I greatly look forward to finally being able to play it for myself and explore the world at my own pace.

This small change ripples across the gameplay of Captain Toad, but the extra restriction rarely feels hindering as the levels are clearly designed to show you the routes to the star. However, there are 3 jewels to find in every level as well as a bonus objective, like finding a secret 1-up or gold mushroom, or not taking damage, etc. that increases the challenge for seasoned gamers. Additionally, the game tracks most coins and fastest times, with a challenge time per level eventually unlocked. There are secret bonus levels as well that I won't spoil. Excellent value.

Very good reboot in the series. Fun to pick up and play

This reboot, the series was very fun, challenging and very faithful to the original trilogy back in the early 90s. This game is worth a picking up today. 👍
