Otherwise, I would go on a weekend doom eternal binge, real life be damned!If you're on an AMD video card, don't hesitate to turn on ray tracing. I have an RX6600xt, and I have yet to see it slow down with raytracing enabled. And I have it installed on a mechanical hard drive. No stutters. You just have to be a wee bit patient for the game to begin. And rarely more than 30 seconds loading time. It is THAT well optimized.Just wear headphones when you play, and certainly don't play with kids around. It is an adult game, with heaps of violence. Lots of bare skin, just not of the human kind. Or the normal human kind. So, prudes need not worry. But non-violence advocates, definitely stay away from this game.

Great battles, which is obviously key to this sort of game, but otherwise the changes from Doom 2016 are a step down. Other than the couple "hell on earth" levels, it mostly takes place in fantasy settings, and constantly highlights the mythical story its telling. Really the best Doom "story" is that of the 90s games, which is completely minimal. I'd also prefer the 90s level design.While the battles are indeed tricky and fun, overall the game seems to hold your hand more than I'd like.For all of these complaints, I still give four stars because it's a blast to shoot down a demon.

If you love good graphics, fluid game play and fast paced carnage…. Look no further!This game is easy to learn and a pleasure to play. Visually stunning and if your graphics card is up to scratch you have the option of full ray tracing.Game is engaging and is a must have for any DOOM fans. Also worth noting that if you own the older doom games logging in to them will gift you rewards in DOOM eternal which I think is a nice touch.Dont be fooled though, this game is not just for DOOM fans! Its a fast paced FPS with a solid multiplayer and a massive following so no shortage of game lobbies.Rip and tear people….. rip and tear

Interesting change-ups from the previous game, different. Excellent graphics, but as I haven't finished it, can't say how the new systems for bosses and battles holds up over time. Haven't had any crashes or issues. This piece of garbage still requires a Bethesda.net login - not to play, but even to get to the main menu! - despite Bethesda having given up on their so-called service.There is, however a way of playing online without having to register and login if you don't want to give such a scummy corporation any more of your valuable data; simply create inbound and outbound rules in your Windows firewall to block any and all connections - done!That being said, I would NOT buy this game again and would not have bought it in the first place if I had known that this scummy business practice was still a thing even when they officially turned back to Steam...Honestly? Paying a single cent would've been a waste of good money for this crap.

This game requires a Bethesda account to play while connected to the internet. Not to play online multiplayer, mind you, but to play period while online. You can not skip the prompt to log in, even if you have zero interest in the multiplayer.This meant I was forced to either figure out my Bethnet login (try dealing with Bethsoft support), make a new one (see: how they handle your personal info) or manually disconnect my PS4 from the network before playing. This wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that all of the unlockable skins and modifiers (outside of cheats) require you to be online. This is true even for single-player unlockables that you then can not use unless connected to the internet.This restriction alone almost caused me to return the game because it's absolutely stupid that such a system is in place. This is made even worse because the preorder DLC skins will also not work offline, for no valid reason. This is unacceptable that a game like Doom Eternal actually succeeds in removing single player content if you aren't connected to the internet.I love id and Doom Eternal, but what Bethesda has done here is unacceptable and they need to be called out on it, lest they pull this with more games in the future.

Definitely THE edition of the game to buy!

I rarely play below normal difficulty, but parts of this game were just too much, even on easy, the first time around. In fact, I probably died more on this game's easy level than I do playing Call of Duty and most other shooters on Hard. They throw a LOT at you, and the way bosses become almost common baddies after you beat them for the first time, it's a challenge. There's certainly no place for stealth or strategy at any point of this shooter.The story felt more action oriented than past installments. Even the early games could make me a little nervous when a big bad monster was first introduced. Not so much here, whatever the reason.My only real gripe with the game has to do with the auto-saves. As someone who didn't really like the jumping levels, this was especially frustrating. In one sequence toward the end I started with full health, ammo and full armor, but fell so many times in the attempt that I drained both health and armor completely and died. When I respawned I only had 25% health 30% ammo, and no armor, which was about what I had when I finished the preceding mega-battle. But I left the battle area with full health, ammo, and armor, traversed a long corridor, even opened a major door, so returning me to a save so far away was more than uncalled for. Anyway you slice it that was just plain bad programming.I played this game on the PS5 - the PS4 version will play on the PS5, but it also has a free PS5 upgrade that popped as soon as I inserted the disc. Fortunately, the PS5 controllers aren't as loose as the PS4 generation controllers always were, so navigating through jumps were a little less frustrating than they might have been had I played through on our PS4-Pro.The free steelbook that Best Buy included (separately) was nice. I was surprised they still had them. It always pays to buy physical. Sad that younger generations may never know what they're really giving up buying digital.

Hot game at a deep discount offer price

I played Doom 3 on my Windows Vista laptop and now I can play it again on my Nintendo Switch. This FPS is fun and I am enjoying the content this games provides. There is a season for players to earn XP in exchange for skins as you play. If you're a Fortnite player and want thrill in shooting enemies then this game is it. No contest. I have put a few minutes into the game and I find myself restarting each level of the campaign because it is enjoyable to play. There is various difficulty settings to choose that you'll find challenging to complete the campaign but all so rewarding. This game shines when played in docked mode. Wow!!! Just amazing game. I recommend this game a lot. I play Diablo 3, Fortnite, Pokemon SV, and now Doom Eternal. So fun!!

Doom: Eternal picks up where the previous Doom leaves off, with the Doom Slayer coming to Earth to fend off the demon invasion. This sort of mirrors the plot of the original Doom 2, but the story is much more fleshed-out here. The first-person shooting gameplay is more frantic than ever and will definitely put your skills to the test on the Hurt Me Plenty difficulty or above. Earning your resources back during intense skirmishes requires skillful use of melee executions, the chainsaw, and the new shoulder-mounted flamethrower; you'll need to keep moving constantly in almost every encounter. When cut in half with the chainsaw, enemies drop ammunition, so your carnage of lead and bullets continues, this balance between insane amounts of action and shooting never stops, and even if you run out of ammo, with a simple cut of the chainsaw the action goes on, giving this shooter an unstopable pace, no moment feels dull or boring, its action from beggining to end, not even the story makes a halt to the fun experience: as it almost non existant: the plot may very well be resumed like this: the gates of hell are open, demons sprawl on mars, go ahead and kill them all. That's it: there's almost nothing to spoil, nothing to tell, and it feels so refreshing.I just cant stress enough how good and fun of a shoter Doom 2016 is, and if you're fan of the FPS genre, you own yourself to play this.
