The designer and builder should be ashamed of this product. From the beginning, nothing but problems. Just installing batteries is a mess. Then discovering that the batteries discharge quickly unless the compartment is left open. And the units corrode rapidly when exposed to moisture. ImagineThat! Moisture on the ocean!

I have had three of these and I finally learned my lesson. Something in the circuit board failed each time. Look elsewhere

I have had two of these and know of another person that had one. They all suffer from a poor battery latch. I had to seal the joint with tape or water would surely enter. Poor choice for salt water environment as screws rust quickly. Microphone cord failed on one unit and the mic was never used off the bracket.These units have super audio power and clarity.
Bought as a Christmas gift at West Marine. It lasted 1 month before it broke. Brought it back to store, swapped it for a new one, the new one doesn't work. This product is junk! West has been great, I'll give them an A+ on customer service. But this megaphone gets an easy F!
