Dove beauty bar original scented soap has been my everyday soap to shower with for over 15 years. It is the only bath bar soap that is gentle on my skin, doesn't dry out my skin, and is more moisturizing than any other bath bar that I've used. I find the bar to even be superior to the body wash, which has a lot more chemicals. As a woman, I've suffered over the years with UTIs and have had to be super careful which soap I choose to bathe with. Dove has been the only one that has never contributed to a UTI. Then I discovered that it's great for washing my sensitive face without over-drying, so I use it on non-makeup days in order to preserve my more expensive face wash. Then I discovered that this soap does a pretty solid job at removing makeup itself! THEN I discovered that it cleans makeup brushes like a dream and leaves them super soft afterwards! Then I discovered that with the moisturizing element and the slippery suds it makes, it's effective as a shaving soap/"cream". Then I realized the fragrance-free aspect is great if I'm planning to wear a perfume that isn't a part of my Bath and Body Works collection and I don't want a clashing body wash fragrance. I thought the two-pack was going to last me forever but the first bar I opened up two weeks ago is about a third gone already. This soap slipped into my life and took over...Can't see myself going without it now.

I like that this is hypoallergenic specifically for sensitive skin. Also, it’s inexpensive and that’s always a plus. I found these to be the only positive things I can say about this. Although it claims to be fragrance free, there’s still a scent but just a very light, soapy scent. I just didn’t really find this to be beneficial other than it being safe to use— but no skin benefits such as leaving my skin soft and moisturized. However, it didn’t dry it out more. I think this is a great option for those with very sensitive skin and just want that really clean feeling. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who is also looking for their skin to be softer after using. If anything, I would recommend following up with a good hypoallergenic, deep moisturizing lotion after using.

The best soap ever is now dead

I thought I just got a bad batch but after purchasing from 2 different locations I’m realizing that the soap I’ve used and loved my entire life now has an awful and intolerable chemical smell and leaves my skin dry and irritated. The smell is noticeable in the box but increases significantly after use in water. After searching online I see that this has been going on for at least 4 years but I’m only experiencing it upon my last purchase. Perhaps it’s a distribution lag of some kind and there is no change in the packaging. At any rate, I can no longer use the only soap I’ve ever been comfortable using. Extremely disappointed. Why would you change this formula? Weird.
