The baking powder is fine but like many other reviewers I find the lid a paid to open - wrapping a tea towel round it works well but I would suggest decanting into a sterilised jam jar is a less frustrating solution. A large jar that would take the whole container which could then be left inside without the lid on makes a perfect compromise!

Had this one before and then tried a different one in between and wasnt happy with the rise on my cakes so went back to this one. The lid has a knack to it but I didnt have issues as mentioned in some reviews. Happy with this baking powder and will stick to it in the future.

I have had no problems at all with this baking powder. If you struggle to remove the lid, gently squeeze the tub and the lid will pop off.
Although I don't actually need a gluten free product, I bought this when I was desperate for baking powder and there was no ordinary on the shelf. I've just used it in a batch of scones and they've come out really light and fluffy. I would have liked to give it 5 stars, but the drum was so fiendishly difficult and time-consuming to open that I felt able to give it only 4 stars.
Producing great baking results for both GF and non GF cakes, but oh my goodness, the lid!! I have to use a thin, sharp knife to slide down the side of the container, to prise the lid open. And yes, there have been 3 unpleasant moments and several explosive ones. Mostly, I ask my husband to open it, if he's around, as he manages to do it with pressure. I will turn to a different brand, unless future reviews show the lid issue has been resolved.
The Baking Powder is fine. The container has a lid that is incredibly difficult to open, the lid is packed in tight. Once you have it open the lid won't go back in again. Unbelievable packaging. So difficult to open there's a guaranteed risk of spilling baking powder all over the place. Will no buy again. My usual was out of stock.
Lid isn?t great - BUT I had a problem with ?normal? baking powder tasting chemically or like aluminium. I kept putting less in my recipes to try to reduce the taste, but after switching to this type, I couldn?t taste it at all. What I think is I can taste the phosphates, this contains Mono Calcium Phosphate (e339), and the cheaper brands contain Diphosphates(e450). Perhaps this is also why the person with spelt bread didn?t have any success. I didn?t know there were different types of baking powder before looking into it.
The baking powder was fine the 3 times I used but I had so much difficulty in opening the container I have replaced with a Steenberg's product. Never usually have difficulty with this type of container so posting to alert anyone with problems with grip
As other reviewers have said, the lid is a problem. Both I and my husband tried in vain to open it and it would not budge. In the end my husband used a knife to try and ease the lid and we ended up with baking powder all over the worktop. The bulk of it got binned and I will not purchase again.
