Might need to size down tho. This is my 3rd pair of boots. Reviews are confusing- 'size up, size down, tts'. I was willing to sacrifice $7 in return shipping for the perfect sized boot. Thx DM!. Do you know how much shipping is now, omg. Still need to break in tho. Wore 3hrs 1st day. Try duct tape for areas that rub or silicone heel covers. Insoles to take up extra space. No insoles for needed more. So many tip & tricks. Try them all. Next pair will be Chelsea's. Collection growing.

I bought these thinking they were going to be super hard and that I was going to get many blisters but still wanted them because of their name. I think nappa leather is pretty soft, no blisters at all; however, the part where the stitches are where the laces start is pretty tight and my feet felt uncomfortable, I’d take them to a cobbler for stretching especially on that part. Other than that they are pretty comfortable. If you buy them make sure you size down because they run big

I've had one pair of black lace up boots with faux leather, but I decided its time for my first pair of real leather boots!I value quality, comfort & style. I got these because friends of mine swore how comfy it is. I have wider than average feet. At first the boots were too tight and I got worried. I ordered size 7 (I'm 7.5) but after wearing it for one whole night the boots relaxed a bit and fit better. I read online "Smooth leather moulds to your foot and gets more comfortable with each wear, creating a personalised fit." I am happy with my purchase so far and I can't wait to wear them out more.

I ordered the black croc print in size 10, my normal size. These boots run narrow which is great for me because my feet run narrow. I did switch out the insert for my orthotic inserts. I’ve been wearing them around the house while making supper and doing dishes. I also have on 2 pair of socks. One of which is a boot sock. These boots feel great! I’m wondering all those reviews talking about the painful break in time, are their feet too wide for the boot? Finally, are these leather? The title says they are, but they don’t feel like it. There is no tag/stamp that says they are inside the boot. They’re cute and comfy, but I’m not sure they’re worth $102, definitely not $169! I am keeping this pair because they fit well, and my inserts fit well.
I tried on about 5 pairs of the same boot style at DSW store and they are all different! Some are loose in the toe box, others in the heel, leather is poor condition. Not sure how the black Nappa leather 1460 boots passed quality control. I’ve never had a problem with other styles in a size 8. It looks like I will need thick socks with these boots as a smaller size fits tight. This will be the last Doc Marten boots I purchase
Because of the reviews, I was dying to try them on & buy them. The minute I saw them, I was so disappointed. They look & feel like plastic. Not the patent leather ones, they’re glossy & actually look nicer. I don’t know why they would do that to leather. It’s so overworked, it truly looks & feels plastic. Not pleather or faux/vegan leather. PLASTIC. I’m a size 8.5 wide & the 8 fit me fine. It’s a little tight but that’s expected, until you stretch them out. They’re clunky & heavy but I like that because that means they won’t wear down easily. I ended up getting the Timberland boots (which are water proof, unlike Martens which are water resistant).
buy it in the summer it’s cheaper.too tight?- if it’s a little they stretch- you can wear thick socks with them for 10 minutes 3x a day to stretch them out- too loose? size one down because they cannot shrink. attempting to do so will damage the leather.finally purchase a leather cleaning kit I recommend the one from docs website because it is made for these shoes specifically with instructions on how to use each piece.
I'm pleased with my purchase. These are my first pair. I went into the store to try on a differ color to make sure I ordered the correct size. They arrived within 2 days. I was happy since I needed them for an upcoming 90s themed party. They fit well and were comfortable. I wouldn't mind another pair. Pink and if I were able to find them in red patent and navy patent I'd be super happy.
Don’t let the price intimidate you, these boots are 100% worth it. Comfortable, good quality and the everyday combat look. I wear them as a work shoe sometimes too and have a good grip to them so slipping isn’t a concern. Will say pick your size carefully I had to size down for a comfortable fit to be sure breaking them in wouldn’t be an issue and wouldn’t be left with extra space that would cause blisters.So worth the price!
Bought these two weeks ago for my daughter. Her first pair of Martin’s. She loves them. She says the fit is great and she has had no issues breaking them in. The sizing was stur to her street size 9. She’s wearing them often which tells me that she really likes them and that they are comfortable. As a mother who owns MANY Docs and other shoes from a sister company, I can assure you her patterns with this shoe are positives. You won’t be dissatisfied.
