These are school shoes for my 12 year old son, you cannot beat doc martens for school. The leather is soft and easier to wear in. Around the heal is very hard, so he wears plasters for a couple.of weeks until they are softened. A really good looking shoe, there is a very slight pattern to the leather, but when they're on you cannot see. I would recommend these to anyone that has to be on their feet a lot, are heavy footed and wear shoes down quickly as they really do last. This is my sons 2nd pair, (his feet grew!) And they will last all year.

I love them, but unfortunately they are quite heavy and make my back ache. Also a little big and I have to wear 2 pairs of socks. I’m hoping given time all this will resolve.
Maybe recollections fade with age but I feel the quality of DM's today are not a patch on yesteryear.Time will tell, but I have a suspicion that these Docs will not last as well as previous ones.Fit is good though.
Nice quality and stylish, as ever. But the sizing!!!! I am ALWAYS a size 6, but these absolutely drowned my feet. Measured against my other DMs (size 6) and were at least a cm bigger. Sent back. Very disappointed...
These shoes are siiiiick!Perfect for work at the office and site visits. Didn’t feel they needed ‘breaking in’ as comfortable to wear straight away! Has the hardness/feel of a boot but suitable as a smart shot.
I have been wearing DM shoes and boots for over 40 years and these are without doubt the most comfortable pair yet. not only that, but cannot believe the number of admiring comments when wearing them. Business or pleasure, they tick all the boxes.
The 1461 Ambassador shape is by far my favourite DM. I don’t love the huge toe box on the classic shape, so even went to try the Solovair’s, but they were so tight it was crazy. With DM, I know my size, they fit perfect, are comfortable, look great. I just wish they would make these in the crazy horse leather, plus have some without the yellow stitching to extend the occasions I can wear these. Personally, the soft leather is the only way to go, it has texture and wears very well, plus isn’t hard to break in.
This is my daughter's second pair. She wore them constantly for 2 years for school and work. My daughter is very hard on shoes, normal school shoes don't last a school year. Her first pair of Doc Martins were left outside on the patio to face the elements, heels flattened as she walked to the car because she hadn't undone the laces and covered weekly in corrosive cleaning products from work. Everything you shouldn't do to shoes she does. Doc Martins are tough! I expect these to last until she finishes school next year. If she treated them well I believe they would last forever!
