Fabulous pair of shoes. 1461 in cherry red. A classic, timeless style and colour.I'm normally a UK14, but when I tried this style on at the fantastically helpful store in Chester, I found them quite roomy, so a UK13 was perfect. Unfortunately they didn't have the cherry red in my size in store, but the staff placed the order whilst I was there and the shoes duly arrived back in the Isle of Man five days later.Really pleased with the quality, style and fit and am busily conditioning them and breaking them in, which isn't that bad in the 1461 to be honest.Overall a great shoe and a great shopping experience!

I bought my first pair Doc Marten shoes (black) way back in 1973 - yes that's correct 1973! I bought them through my mum's catalogue with the money I earned from my paper round. They eventually arrived by snail mail back then and I just instantly fell in love with them. The smell of new leather when I opened the box and wow they were just so cool. I treasured those DM's for years, polishing them to within an inch of their life - great memories :)So last week I invested in this pair of cherry red shoes, always wanted a pair of cherry reds.... and wow they are as good or dare I say even better than the pair I bought way back in 73 :) Same smell when I opened the box too! This is my second replacement of a For Life pair. No longer of For Life construction, but from the standard range, although it's good that Dr Martens is standing by the lifetime guarantee. The exchange process only took a few days, and would have been faster if I hadn't mistakenly emailed the US office!My last pair were shiny and these are smooth leather, which I prefer. The card which came with them indicates that they can be polished to a dapper shine, which I will have a go at.I was expecting the usual rubbing of my heels, and pre-empted that with thick socks, although that doesn't seem necessary, and the shoes do feel partway bedded-in.

At the age of 66 I have just bought my first pair of Dr Martens. I love the quality and workmanship. These shoes are going to last me forever! As recommended I am slowly breaking them in by wearing indoors for a few hours at a time. I can’t believe the difference they make to my posture. I’m hopeful that the improvement in my posture will also help to alleviate the pain I have with my sore back 🤞
The shoes are nice just like how i expected. Put the padding at the heel (inside) and wear thick socks so that u don’t get blisters. My advice wear it 2 days at home for a bout 2 hrs like house shoes. So that the leather getting a bit soft. If u have Jadon with the thicker soles, buy this 1 size smaller, or go to store and test first. Because 1461 slightly bigger than Jadon.
Return to office working and a commitment to walking to work led me to buying a pair of Docs for the first time. My buy was based on reputation. Two months on and I have only worn the shoes 4 times as my feet have been cut and blistered after each wear. Not just the rear of the heel (Achilles) but at the base of my big toe and at the top of the foot. And on both feet! I thought that either my feet would toughen up or the leather would soften. Disappointed but will continue to keep my toes crossed that there will be improvement over time.
Love 'em! Just replaced my cherry red 1460 boots after 16 years of wear (!!), anticipating that these 1461s will go a similar distance. Once they're worn in, they just fit like a glove, and go on and on. Been in and out of fashion, but never out of style.My only worry is that boot polish now seems to be a thing of the past, and its all about leather creams. Will these shoes really keep their depth and shine without regular polishing and buffing? Time will tell...
I have recently started to wear my new Dr Martin shoes. Obviously it may take a while to "break them in" but, I love them. They arrived with black laces but, I have seen that some people prefer the yellow. For the moment I am going to keep with the black. They are extremely comfortable and I highly recommend them. I know they are expensive but, sometimes quality costs 😎
I absolutely love doctor martens shoes. My feet don't wear any other brand of shoes, boots or boots. I like them because they are unique, comfortable, special and I feel myself in my shoes. Even though I live in Romania and they are not very common, every year, for my birthday, I get them a Doctor Martens gift. They are the only shoes that associate me. So, I don't mind if I receive a pair as a gift
I have been a huge fan of Doctor Marten's shoes & boots for the last fifty+ years. As a boy, I would spray-paint them gold and silver. Of course no need to do that any more as DMs provide such out of the box these days,although, I'm probably a bit old for silver DMs now, and stick to Cherry-RedHaving just received my most recent order through the post, I am pleased to confirm that they are as good today as they have ever been.Well Done Doc Marten
