Any bindings on shoes should be considered for irritation.So my Christmas gift was a bust plus I lost $7 returning these shoes because of the size thanks to other inaccurate reviews. I don't know if I will order again from the website because of the return fee. I know these shoes were on sale, but for the price of Docs they should have free returns.

I so wanted these to be right but unfortunately they weren’t. I ordered my usual size 5 which did fit. I have to go for wide fit in general which I know these aren’t, but they did fit Ok - however as soon as I made the short walk upstairs to look in the mirror I could tell they were going to rub, probably around the ankle strap. The leather was stiffer than I thought it would be. I also felt for me they did not suit my ankles which are not the slimmest I admit, more average, but I felt they just made my legs look fatter at the bottom as a result… gutted. I returned them to the store and the staff member said they were generally a more tricky fit and was not that surprised. I would say if you have slim to standard width feet and slim ankles you are onto a winner!

Being eyeing these up for years, tried them on all multiple times but could never quite picture how I would style them for a guys perspective. When they came up at a price too good to pass up I couldn't not buy them.I wish I had this sooner. Super squishy, very lightweight, I have straight narrow feet and sizes down from my usual size and they fit perfectly. Maybe if you had longer toes , but when I tried my regular size there was too much of a gap on the strap nearest my toes and too much movement. I am so upset with DSW. I’ve been eyeing these for about 2 years and have been waiting for the right time to purchase them. I finally caught them on a sale and had a gift card and ordered them, so excited to take them on my upcoming trip. I am a true size 8 but I wear 8.5 and sometimes 9 in most shoes. I ordered a size down (size 7) like many suggested… it was a mistake. I mailed them back as an exchange for a size 8. DSW sent me the WRONG SIZE. And by the time I notified them, my size was OUT OF STOCK. I was deeply disappointed and angry. DSW also told me I had to return these at a store since it would be my second return of them… even though it’s not my fault. I needed sandals for summer and spotted these last year and popped them on my wish list, but recently decided to treat myself. I love these sandals! They are super comfy, super cute, go with anything and everything, like walking on air, literally! I have worn my boots and sandals for clubbing , festivals as well as everyday use. I loved the pink sandals but did end up ordering in black, I am hoping to purchase other colours in future. Think the pink is next on my list. I would say true to size. Happy with style and comfort. I just hope this pare last longer than the previous 4 pairs of Dr Marten sandals. Over the past 4 years I have purchased 2 pairs of Blaire Hydro Sandals (this purchase being mu third) and 2 pairs of the ones with the high platform. Both of the high platform ones split along the sole within 2 weeks of purchase and all previous pairs of the Blaire Hydro sandals have had one of the straps break. The longest I have owned a pair is for 1 summer. Dr Marten used to mean quality and shoes that would last a long time. I'm guessing quality declined when manufacturing was moved from the UK. Lwt's see how long these ones last
Been waiting for vegan sandals and these were such a disappointment. The non vegan ones look amazing and I’ve always wanted them but I’m vegan. I have other vegan shoes that are so comfortable but I’m still sporting the scar this gave my inner ankle from months ago. Actually have to sell them on eBay. The straps are so weird. It’s the right size for my foot the straps are at a weird ankle, so tight, little toe pops out, the buckle is so uncomfortable. Just hate everything about them. I only realised JUST how painful they were when I was walking in them after about 15 mins.

Lovely, well made shoes. Unfortunately, I have a chubby wide foot so they were too narrow and tight. The buckle was a bit too small as well around my chubby kankle. Possibly would have stretched over time but didn't want to risk it. They were comfy on the sole but just too tight everywhere else. Could have tried a size bigger but I find that when I do that my podgy nubin of a little toe pokes out the side. Sent them back but ordered a different style of sandal which are a much comfier fit. Love Dr Martens.

My honest opinion is that these are 95% perfect. However, you do need to check sizing very carefully. I never, ever go by UK sizes on shoes or clothes these days as they vary so wildly from one designer to another, and instead always look at the European sizing. The third strap (from the toes backwards) gapes oddly and doesn’t lie flat against the foot- it gapes with so much space I am able to fit my fingers comfortably between my foot and the strap. There is no way of adjusting any straps except the ankle strap. Therefore, not sure how these will pan out in terms of usage! Haven’t worn them yet, just tried them on in the house briefly with socks. They are delightfully light and weightless on the feet (a joyful relief after the far too heavy Dr. Marten platform shoes I purchased recently) but these sandals obviously have no flex or movement in the soles at all, so you walk as you would in any platform shoe- without really bending or arching your foot at all. This might be an issue for some folk if you’re not used to wearing a platform shoe. I wasn’t planning on hiking far or dancing all night long in them, just wanted some cool summer sandals to wear short distances or to the pub, so can deal with not being as nimble or fast on my feet as in some other shoes, but they are effectively a ‘fashion shoe’, not a particularly practical option. I knew that though. They’re so cool looks-wise, I want to love them forever, but Dr Martens really need to wake up to the fact that they are losing customers over not doing half sizes or ‘narrow fitting’ (I.e., normal width) shoes. This is a huge mistake in my opinion. I’d happily buy these again at full price in a 40.5 ‘narrow’ fit and they’d be perfect for a ‘normal’ width UK 7! Alas, such sizes do not exist! I’ll keep them though and see how I get on this summer as they appear to be well made (time will tell), are as light as can be in terms of weight, look super cool and will go with literally everything, but I will probably buy something else in future that is truer in sizing. I would probably not size down length wise to be honest (but do work out your European size before buying or measure in centimeters for an accurate fit) but if you have narrower/slimmer/bonier feet (I.e. normal width not chubby or wide ones) you might prefer to look elsewhere, or wear these with thick socks (not ideal for a summer sandal)! I have a similar issue with sizing on my DM shoes mind you, but can’t size down to a UK 6 in Dr Martens as these hurt my toes. Sort out some half sizes and narrow fits please Dr Martens!!! You’re losing customers over this issue! Thanks!
