Before I start - I have a high arch and thus it was almost impossible to get into these at first.The first few wears were so painful - I recommend plastering up on the toes and the bottom back corners of your soles - the lip at the back of the shoe is so hard!Iām a few wears in now, the leather is softening slowly - if I wear normal cotton socks on my feet now, they slide into the right place so the back lip is not as big of a problem. Still not soft enough to brave a walk longer than 10min though!I have confidence these will soften more, but itās taking a lot of breaking in and pottering around the house!Despite how wide they look, there could be a little more toe room inside. I donāt really have this issue with the boots so was surprised these pinched.

These are my only truly successful Docs since I bought Patricia many years ago (sadly now delisted). These mules are wearable from day one and I am breaking them in to last my lifetime. To be a truly iconic brand with a long life ahead, I think Doc Martin needs to find a compromise between young fans and older generations, like mine who have been long-term fans and a significant market niche, but who are getting older. The DM 'badge of honour' seems to be 'no pain, no gain'. Grand for 'live forever' teens who don't know what a corn is. Your challenge is to meet the needs of this year's 'rebel yell' but also the needs of last centuriy's rebel yell. Comfort and wearability is key and the Isham mules delivers for all.

This is an incredibly comfortable clog. Itās easy to slip on, and doesnāt slide off, when you walk. So far, it remains looking clean. It is easy to maintain. And better yet, people have complemented me on wearing them.

Lovely and comfy, well made and look amazing with trousers or a skirt. I like to team them with frilly socks when wearing a skirt! Itās a little tricky to get your foot in when wearing the straps behind your heel, but I prefer them across my foot anyway.
Love my third pair of DMs. Mike/clogs are really on trend at the moment and these are so chic ! Only complaint is they run a little small, I didnāt have to break in my boots or sandals but these are a lot stiffer and chaff on my pinky toe and lower back ankle on the left foot. My plan is to wear them with thick socks all through winter and then hopefully next summer I can wear them without socks.
They don't stay on my feet well unless I use the strap, which I have never used as a rule with other mules I wear. A bit annoying as I have to buckle and unbuckled every time as well. Perhaps when they're a little worn in I may get away with not needing to use the strap at all. However, they look lovely on and although the little elastic bits rub a bit I imagine that will ease soon. Can't wear them much yet but plan to live in them once the weather improves !!
Super comfortable with no break-in time necessary. Wore them all day with complete comfort. I normally wear 8. 5 and the 8 fits great. Slightly heavy but that is expected with Martens. Excellent quality! I will be wearing these all the time!
The back is awful šI always get same size and the back has a slight lip on these, I have same in a different colour no problem, but these shoes are unbearable. Very sad to say I donāt know if I can continue wearing and I have lost moneyā¦.
Much softer than I expected, wore them comfortably on my first outing. Love that they have the option of having the straps on your heel or not. The suede is super quality. Love my new mules.
Super unique shoes and very versatile! Colour is amazing. Can be worn with strap forward or back. Very comfy - no need to break in like other docs! Highly recommend if you looking for something a little different
