AfterPay Available - Another reissue from Dr Martens' hall of fame, the derby styled 1461 goes back to England to be built in their original Northamptonshire factory. The whole package is a vast step up in quality, featuring the idiosyncratic Oxblood red dyed leather - this time reproducing the original full-grain Quilon leather. The upper is lined with tan leather for a comfortable fit, so is the insoe. Underneath a Goodyear Welted construction method is used to attach the AirWair sole to the upper, a more time-consuming practice but one that will see better durability.

SO comfy and toe box is roomy, which means no squished toes and no rubbing. When these form to my foot, they will be even better. When I was a kid in the late 90s, we could never afford REAL Dr. Martens. Now that I'm 40, I invested in TWO pairs, and NO REGRETS!!!! I absolutely love my new Docs. I highly recommend the 1460 Serena Faux Fur Lined Lace Up Boots too. Super comfy and great in cold weather. I wear a US size 9, and I purchased size 9 in my Docs. Fits perfectly.

I ordered these in a size 8 US women. With thin socks they were so loose. I tried a thicker sock and they were a tad better. I then tried a Dr Martens classic insole - game changer. I did order a size 7 for comparison but they were too tight and also didn’t look right proportionally on me because they were shorter in length (so those are going back). I’m settling on the size 8, but I absolutely have to wear an insole or my foot will be flopping around. I think this is a universal Dr Martens sizing problem if you have a narrow heel. If they sold a 7.5 it’d probably be perfect, but the insole takes them down a 1/2 size for me and the comfort level is astounding. No painful breaking in period. Plus - they look phenomenal. Classy but edgy. The quality of the Made in ... MoreI ordered these in a size 8 US women. With thin socks they were so loose. I tried a thicker sock and they were a tad better. I took months before buying this . Reviewing and reading articles from various places . Finally made the decision to go with Made in England , which is lot of difference in feel quality etc . Breaking period around 2 to 4 weeks and post that it’s a great feeling to wear this shoes . It’s worth spending extra $ for made in England . Enjoying the shoes and happy with my purchase:)

My new Docs: I’ve had them on my feet every day since they arrived, and I can’t stop looking at them: archetypal 1461s in Smooth Black Leather. Funny how you can change your mind about what suits you – I happen to be slim and I used to think these big shoes (size 9.5 for me) with those familiar deep, wide soles did not work with my body shape. But now I just don’t care what anyone else might think, they feel good. And they look handsome. I have noticed now, when travelling on the busy London Tube, there will be several people in each carriage wearing DMs. Quality will out. As for me, having experienced the AirWair Bounce, I’ll never go back to a solid sole. I just love these shoes.
I am a automotive mechanic so you know the environment these shoes are in every day. The main reason I ware these shoes is the style and the look of professionalism. The reason for the english made one's is the quality. The welting and leather is superior to any other work shoe. The tread on the sole does hold up well with all the pivoting and walking on the rough concrete. They pass the wite sock test even after a year, I go big on the size because I use orthofeet insols. I have not had a shoe that out performs or is more comfortable.
I have ordered these shoes because my father has dementia. He was so pleased with his new shoes that he stated it was like walking on air.Without the help of Lisa from the Cambridge shop we would not have been able to order these shoes at all. Because my mother and father do not have access to Internet anymore. My father was really good with the Internet but due to his illness he cannot use the Internet any more and my mother has never used it. I live over 200 hundred miles away from my parents. Lisa from the Cambridge shop managed to send out some information in picture format and my father chose what he wanted mum then phone me with the order number and I then went onto the Internet and ordered them. I use my 1461's for work. HVAC. Being summer they are cooler than the full size 1460. They required minimal break in. Got a hot spot on my heel at the top of shoe after about 4 hours. Swapped to a broken in 1460. Did this maybe 2 more times and can now wear them all day. This is my first pair of 1461. I debated not going MIE to see how l liked the cheaper ones in case they were not for me. I'm very pleased with the MIE. I am going to purchase another pair to not wear to work. I'm 50 years old and have been wearing Dr.Martens since High school. Size 10 always. Dont ever need to try them on. Always fit proper. Still love them after all these years.
Recently bought another pair of well built Dr.Martens 1461 Made In England. The usual top quality I have gotten to rely on. These shoes are a "Must Have" in any Man's Wardrobe. Well built. Made to last. It's the reason I continue to buy after over 40 years of such purchases. You cannot go wrong with these shoes. Enough said. Go try a pair for yourself !! 😊
They came very quick which was very nice. The comfort is amazing. I rarely have trouble with shoes because I have small feet and I am young but I still would say these are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve had. Such great quality. I’ve never had a better quality shoe. They feel soo protective and nice on my feet. The look is also perfect and exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much!
My Husband loves Dr. Martens. He only has the ones made in Vietnam, but has always wanted the hand made ones from England. So I purchased these for my husband as birthday surprise. And wow was he surprised until he opened them. Both shoes had bubble like defects. When I contacted customer support, they offered an exchange. The ones I got in exchange were the same shoes! When I reported it to customer service they completely ignored what I said and instead of helping me further they offered me a 15% off on my next pair of shoes. I never thought that purchasing $230 made in England 1641 from Dr. Marten would be so embarrassing. I will NOT buy from Dr. Martens again.
