Flash forward to today when on a whim I decided to treat myself to a new pair.If you're replacing your old Docs, go for the Made in England version. They're worth every penny. Sizing is as I remember it. I thought my old feet would require a size larger but was wrong. I'm a consistent 6 1/2 (37) with wide-ish feet so I ordered a 6 and a 7. Turns out the website is right when it says size down if you're a half size.As for breaking them in pop for the Wonder Balsam when you order your boots. Follow the directions and you will be comfortably wearing your boots in almost no time. ... MoreBought my first pair of 1460s in the mid '80s and had many a great times in them. Worked like a charm and I was out stomping blister and pain free in less than a week.

I’m super disappointed! I’ve been dreaming of owning these shoes for about a decade. Finally purchased them. Right boot fit like a dream. Left boot had some weird stitching that made the boot too small for my foot to enter. Had about three people look at it and confirmed it was sewn incorrectly. Had to return them. First I couldn’t get ahold of customer service. Finally I got through via email. The rep I spoke to was pleasant and professional and helped me with my return. I returned the boots via UPS July 6th and they apparently reached the warehouse July 8th. By the 18th I still didn’t have a confirmation or a refund. I had to contact customer service yet again for my refund.Unfortunately, these boots cost way too much money for the amount of hassle I had to go ... MoreI’m super disappointed! And so goes a decade long wish list.

I love these boots. I have a few pairs of docs, but these Made in England are definitely a step up. The overall quality of the boot is apparent. Mine broke in after day 3 and they are quite comfortable. I would say start with thicker socks than you plan to wear regularly, during break in period. That is my personal experience. I am so pleased with these that I am buying another pair in a different color right away. Definitely worth the price.

Always wanted to get a pair of Made in England 1460, so happy to get one. Boots Look good but otherwise it’s too early for me to comment if this is significantly better than a Columbia or Osprey boots. But one thing that truly disappointed me is the in store experience. I visited the Oxford street store twice and and the first day my experience was, ‘You aren’t welcome here’ approach! Zero oomph, ‘whatever’ attitude! These guys should understand we still come to a store because of the human interaction and to get a bad experience. The sales people on the second day were much warm and helpful.

Firstly, I'm a true 11, I bought a pair of MIE US12s a few years ago, they were always way too sloppy on me. US11s fit really well widthwise, but are ALMOST too short. They fit more like US10.5s, but DM US12s fit like US12s. As they break-in and my heel settles into the boot, my toes don't hit the front of the boot as often, but I definitely can't wear insoles with them. It's a bummer that the cheaper DMs fit basically perfectly but for the "nicer" ones you just have to deal with this goofy sizing, meanwhile Solovair out here with half-sizing.Also, my other MIE 1460s came in a nice box with brochure and bag. These came thrown in the standard Dr Marten box which was totally crushed in shipping. Quality of the boot is fine. Leather is *ok* - very stiff and dry. ... MoreFirstly, I'm a true 11, I bought a pair of MIE US12s a few years ago, they were always way too sloppy on me. Conditioning it heavily with mink oil and hairdryer on the inside helped tremendously with break-in.Ultimately I like my boots and the longer I wear them the better they fit and feel, but they could be SO. MUCH. BETTER. if Dr Martens just paid less attention to marketing and more attention to making a quality product with better sizing options.

THOROUGHBRED !
2 January 2023

I will be 62 years old this February. I have worn Dr Martens shoes and boots ( and even sandals ) since I was a young teenager in the 1970's. Although I have had / and still own many pairs of imported DM's, I still gravitate to the Made In England versions. I have witnessed many fashion trends come and go, in music, clothing and footwear but Dr Martens have always remained the coolest of all ( and that includes all the other apparel and accessories ). There is just something so very unique about them. My latest acquisitions are a lovely pair of Oxblood "Made In England" 1460's in the beautiful, legendary Quilon leather. Yes, they still take a wee bit of time and patience ( as well as a tad of discomfort ) to break in properly, and yet this is a huge part of the ... MoreI will be 62 years old this February. I may be old these days but at least my feet are still proper cool !

They’re Doc Martens; nuff said!
6 April 2024

This is my third pair; my first pair go nearly halfway up the shin and cost me about £300; had them for going on 10 years now, and they’ve aged very nicely and are still going strong! Some blanch a little at the cost, but how many people will have the trainers that they paid £120 odd quid for after being worn, walked and hiked in for a DECADE and still comfortable, functional and still look smart!I could emphasise on the craftsmanship of these ones, how smart they look, how comfortable they are when they’ve been decked in and how long they’ll last if cared for and so on, but simply the brand name ‘Doc Martens’ is enough as such qualities are what the brand has had decades of fame for.

Top Quality

Back in 1991, I bought my first pair, which were 8 hole oxblood, back when all Docs were made in England. I also had 10 hole black steel and 14 oxblood steel back in the day. Definitely wanted to make sure my most recent pair was made in the UK. At first, I wavered on buying these as the design is a little different than my first pair of 8 hole oxbloods: these new ones feature white stitching, brown base around the yellow stitch, and no black leather top at the top of the boot. However, I’ve found these to be really nice looking, anyway. They’ve grown on me. (I also bought black laces rather than the red ones that came with to make them look more like my first pair and since people back in the 90’s era scene all know what red laces mean.) gorgeous made in England boots!
11 March 2024

I’m thrilled with my purchase. These are excellent quality, and I love the color. The fit is true to size for a Doc Martin. I typically wear a size 9 US women’s shoe, and therefore, I size down to a women’s eight in Docs unisex sizes as they run large. However, when I’m buying a doc that is made just for women, I wear the nine and find them true to size. I think it’s helpful when leaving a review that you distinguish between a true-to-size Doc or a true-to-your-normal US size; however, if you are a little on the large side of a nine regularly, I would not suggest sizing down as they just barely fit me and I am a solid 9. they take a little breaking in. Still, all in all I enjoy, putting all the love and energy into every pair I get !
