Warning: Capcom is adding unfamiliar DRM to their back catalogue of games. This corp has repeatedly shown their stance towards mods in their games as well and seem to be taking action. I would caution you against purchasing any capcom product that contains this DRM as it’s unfamiliar, and untrustworthy. For now, if you really want this game, or any capcom game, I would stress that you watch and observe to see what happens in the near-ish future. Please note that there is a lot of misinfo circulating about with regards to this situation. Please do your due diligence and research everything and even fact check myself before making a final judgement. I am doing the best I can to sift through the false info and properly inform myself and will update this review ... MoreWarning: Capcom is adding unfamiliar DRM to their back catalogue of games. Then good publishers will remove it later on allowing for better experiences. I am upset when DRM harms performance, which it often does

By now this game is a classic, and one you won't regret buying. The story, mechanics, music and even the graphics (even though is a PS3 game), feel smoth and truly delightful. I already had a copy, and it was so good that I gifted another to a friend so they could enjoy such a masterpiece.

A great conversion from consoles - just as addicting as it was on the consoles and playable with a mouse and keyboard, but recommend using a controller (just like the consoles). If you've never played this game it's set in a fantasy world full of monsters both big and small, with the big monsters really being big! So big in fact that your character can climb upon them to hit them where it hurts the most... Definitely one of the main draws for this game (of course if you so choose, you can fight these monsters from afar...). It's also one of the few games that changes when the main quest is complete; meaning the game doesn't end when the main quest is completed but continues on with new quests, more monsters to fight and a changed world... On top of that, the PC version has the expansion included, which allows you to take a break from the main storyline and tackle a completely independent area with better equipment which you can then use to make the main storyline that much easier... This game will consume hours of your time once you get going!
This game reminds me a lot of Skyrim, that's one of the main reasons why I bought it. But it's not quite like Skyrim. There's no "fast travel" in between towns, all the wolves, goblins, & bandits that you encounter try to kill you, re spawn quick. Then you have to fight them again or run right past them hoping your pawns run too or it's option one again. When i began playing this game, I died all the time. So I stayed in the town you first start from, earning all the cash I could get. Updated my weapons & armor as much as i can on my own character and my two pawns. Thinking that would help me out, But I keep dying and that's on the lowest difficulty. So right now I'm taking a break from this game. I'll come back to it eventually. But If you want this game because it ... MoreThis game reminds me a lot of Skyrim, that's one of the main reasons why I bought it. But it's not quite like Skyrim. Amazing version on the Switch! Action RPG that surprised me with the gameplay and mechanics. Can’t wait for the 2nd one! Lots of variety in the classes that you can choose from from magic users to more physical and action based classes to archer classes.
One of my all time favorite games. Worth owning on any console. Ty very much. really appreciate the speed.
A cult classic, and perfect ahead of Dragons Dogma 2 which is intended to be a reboot of the series. I platinumed this game prior to buying this copy so I could keep it pristine. Game has lots of content, graphics hold up, dark arisen content with Bitter Black Isle is also fun. Pawn system is compelling. A good time all around and a must for RPG fans.
Dragons dogma has to be the best hack'n'slash/RPG I have ever played. The story starts out with you, the arisen of the next age, chosen to face the dragon Grigori. The story is highly detailed and the world is very dynamic with people going about there own things, and even venturing out into other areas of the world. The missions intertwine with one another which means that if you do things in a certain way you could end up completely missing a mission or two without realising it, which is fine in a way because this game isn't just a once through then chuck it back on the shelf, i've personally spent over 200 hours on it so far and have only just faced the final boss from the expansion (Dark arisen). Dark arisen runs alongside the main game but the bitterblack isle resets if you finish the main game. You can fully customise your appearance, and how you customise your Arisen/Main pawn does more than just change appearance, certain in game elements will affect you too, such as: character's size will affect the way the character interacts in the game. Bigger characters will have a longer reach when they attack, but they will also be easier to hit. Smaller characters have a shorter hit range, but are more difficult to hit. They also move faster than their larger counterparts. The sex of the character can also have an effect on gameplay. Since the character's reach and stamina are a major part of the game, every detail put into the main pawn will shape how the game is played. The combat is unlike most games because it centres around vocations (Mage, Sorcerer, Warrior, Fighter, Strider, etc.) and skillsets within these vocations. Only the arisen can take on the 3 hybrid vocations though (Assasin, Magick archer, ad Mystic knight). With the exception of the warrior class (which only allows 3 abilitys/attacks) you can equip up to six abilitys/attacks per class on top of your basic and heavy attacks, the basic and heavy attacks also do different things if you charge them or time your attack buttons differently. The enemies are varied and will require experimentation to find out there strengths and weaknesses. My advice to you, is download the demo, see if you like the way the game plays, because its one of those games, you either love it or hate it. If you enjoy it, don't hesitate to buy it. If you do buy it I have a couple of tips for you to make it easier: Constantly keep re-hiring pawns as you level up. Try out different attacks, magicks, and debilitations on enemies because as your main pawns knowledge of an enemy grows the more useful in battle it will become. Check the bounty boards for easy quests that can be completed without trying such as "slay 10 goblins" or something that you will do without even trying for. Use you'r pawns as pack horses, load them up until they get heavy with supplies, but be aware that they can use some items, if there are some items you don't want them to use keep them on you. If you get stuck on an enemy or mission the dragons dogma wiki is a valuble source of information: http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon%27s_Dogma_Wiki
This was excellent on last gen consoles and when I heard it was being released on current gen I could not resist visiting Gransys again. Better graphics, faster loading times and all the features from the original 2 games (Dragons Dogma and Dragons Dogma Dark Arisen) in one. The Eternal Ferrystone is included meaning fast travel is easy unless you are like me and happy to wander around taking in the scenery killing enemies including epic monsters like Cyclops, Wyverns and Griffins along the way. Choosing gender, height, size and features was and still is crucial to creating your ideal character and is an enjoyable start to the game. The classes remain the same with 3 initial types eventually leading to a further 6 totalling 9 that the main protagonist can choose ... MoreThis was excellent on last gen consoles and when I heard it was being released on current gen I could not resist visiting Gransys again. The classes remain the same with 3 initial types eventually leading to a further 6 totalling 9 that the main protagonist can choose from at will once a small portion of the game has been progressed. Climbing onto gigantic monsters backs and chopping off a Hydras head has never been better. Tons of weapons and armour, customisation options and material combinations means there is always something new out there. Top game and well worth the 20 quid price tag even more so if you never experienced the originals first time around.
