Best potato masher !! It’s silly it’s just a potato masher but I’ve tried plenty of different ones and I always struggled to get a smooth mash. I’ve also tried potato ricers but I found them to make a mess and hard to clean. But this one is just perfect and quick to clean: just a quick rinse under the tap before the potato dries and voila !

This is the best potato masher I have ever purchased and I have bought several in the past. Mashes potatoes into a smooth and creamy consistency without adding too much fattening creams and butter. I love it and so does my husband. Has a unique action which ensures success every time.

I was a little worried about spending this much on a masher, but I’m quite pleased with it. I understand why some people don’t get on with it; it feels quite flimsy (sometimes there’s something quite satisfying about taking your frustrations out on mashing potatoes after a day at work) and there is resistance (like a soft closed door) and the cost. I’ve figured out the best way is to hold it over the top of the handle, so can understand how people with arthritis have found this uncomfortable. Saying that, my potatoes and have been really creamy, bananas have been good too. Overall happy.

I purchased this masher after the one I had been using broke. I had tried many other mashers before purchasing this one. All had not been suitable for one reason or another . Ie hard to wash after, didn’t mash potatoes or veg properly. All tried previously were brands that were recognised and varying in price. But the dream farm Smood passed with flying colours. Mashed all vegetables very well. Easy to wash afterwards. Would recommend to anyone who may have grip problems.
Have not made mash for years. Always hated the mashing process by hand. Many thanks for your wonderful Dream Smood Potato Masher. Now eating mash a couple of time per week. So easy to use and clean and not much effort/strength required.
I have other Dreamfarm products that I am very pleased with, the Suppoon in particular. I found this difficult to use. I do not have weak wrists, but it required considerable force and pressure to mash potatoes. Tonight I tried to mash swede and carrot and it just squashed it on the top without going through and did not mash any of it despite being well cooked. I am afraid it is going in the bin and I will revert to my old masher. The scoop on the side is a good idea though.
It sounded too good to be true, but no, it's fabulous. Highly recommend this masher :)
Having kept the item under wraps to test on my Easter Sunday lunch, I was so disappointed. It's very difficult to press down [I won't repeat my daughter's comment when she tried it!]. After several attempts to generate the promised smooth mash, I resorted to my old faithful masher from the drawer. Lakeland - is it too late to seek a refund???
I thought this device might be easy for me to use, having arthritic hands. In fact, it isn't. I had to use it two-handed, it actually was harder on my hands than my Oxo Good Grips masher and it was much more difficult to clean than the Oxo masher - the potato caked up thickly around the stem of the Smood and also formed lumps within the base, both of which I had to scrape off with a knife. I really regret buying it - particularly as it was so expensive.
I really like the masher. It is tall enough that my knuckles don't get in the potatoes, and has a very good grip so my hand doesn't slip (unlike many of these vertical mashers). I take one star away because even though this made short work of turning potato pieces into mash, it still left behind a number of long skinny pieces of potato. It seems like no matter how much you mash, relatively small pieces can just slide between the rings. It wasn't many, but I reserve 5 stars for perfection, and this wasn't quite there! Would buy again though.
