This garment is awesome. It is what I call āclothing as equipmentā. Iām 6 foot, 220 pounds. I purchased an XL, which provides the loose roomy fit that I prefer; there is ample room for layering underneath. It measures 54 inches from the base of the hood to the rear hemline, thus providing plenty of coverage. The hood does not have a drawstring, but it doesnāt need one, as the cut of the hood provides a good snug fit and does not obscure peripheral vision or interfere with a headlamp. The Euro-zipper is a bit of an aggravation for someone used to having the zipper pull-tab on the right-side, but I solved that problem by keeping the robe partially zipped; then I pull it on as if it was a pullover garment. First time ever purchasing from Dryrobe. Have always been skeptical when an item of clothing is branded waterproof- because in reality it usually isnāt. However, then I purchased a Dryrobe to be used on walks etc..I recently was caught out in heavy rain and can honestly this does what the name says..it kept me completely dry - the rain didnāt permeate the outer layer at all. I have never been so dry whilst out in the rain. If that wasnāt enough it has a really warm fleece lining. Concealed internal pockets and 2 external pockets plus a hood. I canāt remember this brand enough. Perhaps she wanted a gold star.If it doesn't remain waterproof and the solution to re-waterproof it No 1 costs more onto of a high initial outlay for the coat and no 2 the spray doesn't even work and no 3 what is in the spray, I bet that's not good for the environment.So I guess you just have to keep buying new coats once they have been worn and washed for a while. That makes sense ...not.I will be selling this coat and buying a different brand. One that is and remains water proof.I would say that this is the MAIN attribute required for a coat of this type and the fabric used should be completely and permanently waterproof otherwise what good is it in wet conditions? I think if you pay Ā£165 for a coat it should be what you bought it for.So for me this coat is a poor investment, a poor design( fabric choice) and the best thing I can say about this coat is that it is lovely and warm. As I write this review these key words of warmth ,design and investment are being ticked off from a list of things to be included in this review. Talk about pushing a narrative.Anyway apologies for my rant, I have as you can tell not been happy with my Ā£140+ layout for a coat that will now have to be sold and replaced - the search for a waterproof warm coat continues.

Tactile alert: I found the robe to have a very cumbersome and "chunky" awkward, restrictive feel for wearing with inadequate flexibility and room for actually changing underneath, if that is yr goal (even tho I purchased the larger size per recommendations.). While it appears weatherproof, the exterior fabric has zero give and is somewhat noisy/crunchy. The zipper is oversized, but still awkward to use for cold hands. The only thing I am not so keen on is on having to be a walking advert while wearing it. I would prefer (much) more subtle branding.Overall though - I am happy and plan to send in my cosy old robe back for a new zip. And then I will have two!
