A solid product

I used three cans of this product to restore a smoker recently and had no clogging issues at all. The key with any aerosol spray paint is to spray in short 1-2 second bursts with a sweeping motion. Holding the nozzle down for long periods like some sort of graffiti artist from an 80's movie will only cause issues with thick paint like this. The paint goes on well, cures hard and seem pretty tough so far.

Was a bad experience over all.Application: Worked properly for about half the can. The other half I'd have to keep abusing the can to get it to spray and even then it'd be spluttering at times. This was every single can.Finish: Looked great, was very matte but it was even and looked good. Once hardened it was super solid to touch but it just started coming up once I cleaned it with wax and grease remover. It was set with a heat gun and a thermometer to check the temp was high enough, but still didn't matter.Usually Dulux make solid products, but I'd rate this 0/5 if I could.

Beautiful Colour but scrapes straight off

We purchased this paint a month or so ago to respray a metal bed frame. The paint goes on well and is beautiful however comes off so easily. If the bed is knocked in any way (a book dropped, a water bottle hits it, even a fingernail scrapes it) then the paint just peels straight off. Disappointing for the price. Definitely would not recommend using on something that is used daily.

DO NOT BUY!
31 January 2023

Do not waste your money or time on this product. It does not set!!! Can't touch it after three weeks without leaving finger prints. Has totally ruined our project. Is not even chrome colour. Looked at other reviews and found the same comments. Very disappointing for a Dulux product. Cannot believe they still have this faulty product on the market.

Good 👍 but smells super strong
21 June 2023

This works well but I had to write a review to informothers to wear a mask when using it.It has a super strong chemical smell and lingers in the air for a while after spraying.I would definitely avoid spraying it inside if you can't well ventilat the room after.Don't spray it with Pets, birds or fish in a room I learnt that lesson the hard way with painting enamel paint inside once.

Long lasting - even when exposed to weather.
8 August 2022

I have used DuraMax to spray over mission brown aluminium window frames and sliding door window frames both internally and externally. External frames that face morning sun and afternoon sun (Perth WA) and prevailing weather have lasted five years without requiring touch up, sheen as original. Did so for a fraction of the cost of having after having a couple of windows done professionally. Fantastic product, which I have continued to use over past five years for similar purposes. Doing as described makes a huge difference to aesthetics.

Spatters very badly
30 March 2023

The paint began to spatter shortly after I started spraying the first coat. The result was bad orange peel effect in the surface. I had to cut the surface back with wet and dry sandpaper to remove the orange peel before applying the second coat. After the first coat I inverted the can and cleared the nozzle as directed. The next day when I tried to apply a second coat it would barely spray at all. When it did it sprayed blobs of paint. The result was a lot of wasted time.

Spits & Splatters
9 May 2023

Bought a can thinking the I could trust Dulux. I got that wrong. First mistakeFirst application on bar stool bases was fine. Inverted the can and cleared the nozzle and waited 20 minutes before applying a second coat.Started spraying the second coat (second mistake) and it spat and spluttered the paint out and ruined the first (coat) finish. I kept going as I figured I was going to be forced into sanding down the splatter blobs anyway.A very disappointing product as the can obviously is under-pressurised.I do not recommend this product. Purchase another brand. Do not waste your money.

Very soft finish - marks too easily
17 May 2022

The problem is that the tin that this comes in has a picture of furniture on it. This product is not suitable for furniture, or really for any application that requires a real varnish, or any degree of clear coat protection. The can says it is ideal for protecting art and craft work. It might be - I don't know. What I DO know is that the finish is soft. REALLY soft. After a week or drying, when I put the thing I varnished down on the couch it came away with the pattern of the material indented in the finish. 1200 sandpaper stripped it completely off. You CANNOT sand this to a polish AT ALL. It is so soft that the weight of anything heavier than paper will cause whatever it is sitting on to mark it. Then you're required to strip the whole paint and varnish job off ... MoreThe problem is that the tin that this comes in has a picture of furniture on it. While it says 'clear coat' on the front, don't assume it mean that in the usual sense.

Yep, dries fast!
14 September 2022

Purchased 31/8 and just used a bit today. As a test (for UV stability) I've brush-touched a few areas on a Taffeta white car. It's a little brighter than the 17 year old factory paint, but hopefully will lose a touch of brightness with time. Much better than Export Enamel gloss white, which turns pale yellow within a week.Paint was getting thick on my plastic holder (brush-touching remember) within a minute, much like nail varnish does. It was just a plastic lid, paint spread a bit. If brushing, spray into a narrow vessel so it pools better, doesn't spread as much and get syrupy. If the colour match improves, I will spray a larger section. As for the product, I can't yet fault it as I haven't used it as intended. But I really like it!
