I had no issues with painting new plasterboard ceilings recently installed in 2010.I found application of the Dulux BATHROOM Ceiling white in the 1920's bathroom despite being well ventilated that it was easy not only to become "fumigated' but more difficult to evenly apply to the 1920s walls and ceilings. It was easier to make mistakes and get "streaky" results. Easy to reapply paint to "under painted" areas, but difficult on first and second paint applications to identify the under painted areas. The white paint did not easily allow a fumugated 72 year old to identify the "under painted" areas on application. Now to see if 10 years time my wife likes the Bathroom ceiling!I am prejudice in favour of Dulux paints as quality brand.

Although I'm not a pro painter, I've been painting for a while. Needed to paint a 3 x 6 ceiling in my property and decided to buy this paint since I've used their Wash and Wear wall paints and found them really good. However, this paint is a different story. After applying 2 coats, roller marks and patches appeared all over the ceiling. After checking the roller (Microfiber 11 nap 230 mm) after loading, I realised that just a little paint was being transferred to the ceiling... also it dried too fast.User error? Possibly, but I've painted with other brands and no issues. Also, goggle this paint and lots of people are having the same issue. Will call Dulux to discuss. but likely will go with another brand.

Used this to paint my 15 year old ceilings, which were in very good condition, just needed a freshen up. This did the job, but I needed to do 3 coats to get a nice finish. The van says contains hiding power, not really sure where!!! I used primer over any touch up spots and still needed at least 2 coats to hide. Anyway, looks great now, and this is a cheaper product than Taubmans so can’t complain. Used just under 4L in a 3.6x3.6 bedroom including cornices.

Used this paint on my brand new ceiling. Found the paint was somewhat thick compared to other paints that I have used before. Terrible coverage and paint dried very quickly so struggled to get an even coat. Applied 2 coats and I has a patchy streaky mess. I thought maybe I had done something wrong so applied another coat...a slight improvement but still very patchy and streaky. Applied a fourth coat and guess what?.. It's still the same streaky mess.Have used 12 litres of paint to cover a 30 square metre ceiling!!!! Problem is know I need to find another product and start again..
My expectation on this product was very high. It failed me! I thoroughly cleaned our whole ceiling in the house for days. After i have done the first coat it left patchy areas in the ceiling which were very visible. I thought it requires a second coat which i have done after three days, but still the same. I ended up buying just the normal flat white (without the ceiling and kitchen formula) and it was perfect. I wasted a lot of money and effort. I was honestly frustrated. I even tried different roller materials! Sorry but this was my experience on this product!
• Very poor coverage, you will need a few thick coats just to get an acceptable finish (even if you are repainting/refreshing)• Very uneasy to apply, won't last a few minutes on the roller tray before it thickens up and becomes difficult to apply evenly.• Contrary to the manufacturer description (16sqm litre), I only got around 4sqm per litre just to get a reasonable finish.• Strongly advise against it.
We bought this paint in the 10L for painting the ceiling. We did everything right, did all the research and no matter what it was always streaky and uneven. We did undercoat plus 3 coats of this paint and it wad awful. We went and bought a solver ceiling white it looks perfect after one coat of that without changing any technique.
3 months ago I used a 15L tub of this paint on my bedrooms and bathrooms and the result looked good.I purchased a second 15L tub to do the rest of my house and the result was terrible. Paint looked watered down and thin when applying. Was drying as I went. Left streaks and roller marks even after a third coat.
I'm a bit disappointed in such an expensive paint. It's got quite a poor hiding power so my primer is showing through easily. I find it's also quite runny which I didn't expect for a ceiling paint - I expected it to be tacky to fight against spatters. I ended up having to load the rollers and brushes up pretty heavily which is a pain when cutting in. I'm going to try out another brand next time.anti-mould properties seem to work ok.
Bought this 2 days ago...Applied 4 coats thinking it was me and poor technique. I've been painting for 30 years as an amateur. I used same ( I thought ) paint 5 years ago and every ceiling is mint. Short version is this paint is now low VOC and ticks the green boxes for Dulux. What they fail to mention at the point of sale - but do on their website buried deep down - is this paint is a bit different to their normal stuff and as a result will require different application methods blah blah blah. They even go onto describe the problems with the finish and believe me - you will have issues. Low VOC paints appear to dry in minutes which means you will never be keeping a wet edge which is super important for flat ceiling paint. I could go on. Just google wider reviews ... MoreBought this 2 days ago...Applied 4 coats thinking it was me and poor technique. I've been painting for 30 years as an amateur. Just google wider reviews for this and see out of 85 votes, 75 give it one star. Bunnings - you should be a good corporate citizen and front this at the point of sale re low VOC paints and the issues and the specific types of roller sleeve dulux recommend. Again, all buried away on dulux nz website. Nothing in-store. Went out to a dulux trade shop today and bought their ceiling professional - main different is it's not low VOC. One coat later - not four and it's looking mint. If you like spending hundreds of dollars and then countless hours rolling a roof then ' waiting ' to see as it dried then buy this paint. If not then either buy the professional range of buy a competitors.
