Don't Expose to Air!!

Like the cute little pets in the movie Gremlins that become monsters when exposed to water, these batteries quickly lose their strength when exposed to air. The batteries use the same kind of technology found in button-cell batteries that once the terminals are exposed to air, the batteries function but also start to lose juice. Don't get me wrong; I pop four of them in the remote flash-heads i use for my photography and they will power those units for a good 3 to 4 hours. But also, in that time I notice that the flash refresh rate drops. For about an hour the refresh rate is milliseconds but then it starts to take longer. Frankly, I don't see much of a difference between these and the standard Duracell AA batteries. But if you want my advice, spend the same amount ... MoreLike the cute little pets in the movie Gremlins that become monsters when exposed to water, these batteries quickly lose their strength when exposed to air. Great Packaging

The packaging for Duracell Optimum Alkaline Batteries is great! This allows consumers to keep the batteries in separate slots so that the positive end a battery does not make contact with the negative end of another battery, which could possibly lead to leakage, and reducing the batteries', storage life. The resealable pack is also a great innovation.

Lousy
1 February 2022

If I could give it ZERO stars I would. 2 of the four batteries were rotted and did not work. Needed them for a musical performance that night. Broke them out to put in my guitar and realized they were bad. Had to scramble last minute to buy a new pack at a CVS.

No expiration dates on batteries or package
28 October 2020

I got a new package of these batteries because I really liked the packaging. THEN I discovered that my old package (only 6 to 8 months old) had batteries that had leaked already when I went to get some out to replace the batteries in a remote that had the same leaky batteries. I will keep the nifty packaging that keeps the batteries cleverly contained, but won't be buying the Duricell Optimum batteries again--be sure to check your purchases for an expiration date... Why would such a well known name like Duracell NOT put a date on their batteries?? BIG FAIL.

The cashier was very helpful with my questions regarding the correct battery for a TV remote control. In the past I have found the staff very helpful. One of the reasons I keep coming to this store.

Strong Batteries!

Just started using the new Duracell Optimum batteries in my Trimline telephone hand set. Worksfine, have to wait and see how long they last. I always liked Duracell batteries better than othernamed batteries because of their lasting power!

Were these used?
7 September 2021

These batteries were Duracell Optimum as described - but when I tested them on my battery tester they almost all did not go to the full three bars that brand new batteries register. This makes me wonder if they were either very old or partially used. I will keep them because of the very good price but still have that question. It does appear that the price could have been too good to be completely true.

Which batteries to buy...
20 July 2023

You have several kind. One of your workers helped pick out what I thought were normal batteries, for my clock. The clock did not work, and then the batteries got VERY hot.I managed to get them out of the clock. I did put one in a wall clock and it works. So they can only go in objects one at a time.
