This was an interesting learning experience. I was split over whether to buy a more expensive printer than I could connect to over USB, or a cheaper one I had to type everything into. I have to say, simpler option fits my requirements better. I think the USBconnected printers, which also print larger traditionalsized labels rather than strips of tape, are better suited to businesses addressing envelopes etc. Theres only so much you can type onto one label, and factoring in the time cost of booting a computer etc against switching on a handheld unit, its actually faster for its niche. It would be nice if it could store a few labels and scroll through them itd also be nice if there was an option to wipe the display in one command. Ive also been able to label the cupboards not all of them, just where things are that other people ask for Mugs, spoons, the fridge, and so on.The tapes do sometimes jam, and when they do, thats usually goodnight to the tape reel concerned, but Ive found this usually only happens when the reel is almost usedup anyway. The tapes are actually contain three tapes together The background tape with one side sticky, the backing layer which peels off, and the print layer, which gets heatbonded to the background, and is stored inside the tape cassette after its been used. This also means the tape wont go allblack etc if it gets heated, like normal thermal paper printers. Its interesting how small the actual print head is. Most of the tape reel is used for storing tape, and for dispensing it in a smooth reliable fashion.Theres a trick to peeling off the backing, BTW It splits along the middle, so bend one end of the tape widthwise, and a corner will lift off Grab that, and peel off that section entirely. Then turn the tape around and repeat the process for the other section.

I bought this item to organize my documents, folders and plastic boxes. It comes with a "sample" label of 1/2in x 10ft where the sold standard size is 1/2in x 23ft, so it was more than enough for my 1st project. It comes with the possibility for turning it on a 9V 2.0A adaptor but neither this or batteries were included (AA x6 are needed).
This review is for the DYMO LabelManager Desktop Label Maker. I really like this label maker, it's very easy to use. Has so many different options where you can change the fonts, size, length, borders, style and others. You can preview and change or save before printing. Can choice to print up to 10 copies of the labels at a time. The labels stick very well once applied to surface you choose.
This label maker is the best out there. It has many features on the menu screen and its easy to navigate. The letters can be small, medium, or large. There is a feature where you can put different designs around the wording to make it your own unique design. You can also print out many copies at once. This is a great feature for a business. The tape on the back of the label sticks really well to anything.
This is primarily a very good piece of electronic equipment. I found it easy to use and the instructions were clear and concise. However, I would advise steering away from the 6mm tape as the print is certainly not central and the tape itself is difficult to split for adhesion, the 12mm is fine with good 2 line printing available. Otherwise a well laid out piece of equipment with the familiar qwerty keyboard layout. One small detail, it does not have the capability to change the font, a welcome addition if fitted!
I like this label maker. Can easily do upper and lowercase letters and it even includes boarders, some fun boarders, too. I haven't tried all the options, but does the job I need. Concerned about the somewhat faint screen. I have to hold it at a certain angle to be able to read the screen. I've tried to make it brighter, but no luck. Almost as if the batteries are low, but I installed brand new batteries, so can't be that. Also, after using a bit, it started spitting out the black strip (I assume the "ink") with the label. It was confusing at first, but easily removed. Just odd.
Bought this a few years ago but infrequently used 1 - 1 1/2 cassettes if that, in other words probably less than about 100 labels ever printed.Always infuriated by archaic and limited menu choice of font sizes, spacing etc.Now, it has stopped performing even its limited functions. The top third of every character is faint or missing completely.This thing boasts a screen but can't even perform its primary function.
