The Ultra 50 Running Shoe was developed especially for long runs on challenging alpine trails where safety and protection are demanded. This trail running shoe features excellent cushioning and a comfortable fit for comfort over distances of 40k or more. With a drop of 8 mm, the Alpine Rocker outsole design with rounded edges, plus a high level of cushioning allows the Ultra 50 to make for a dynamic run even on technical terrain. The 3D Mesh Construction and a seamless tongue ensure this shoe never pinches, effectively preventing pressure points while also lending stability for your feet. This shoe is also designed for ultra distances with its maximum volume. The Ultra 50’s Pomoca outsole stands out with its open, aggressive tread. This tread offers optimum grip and responsiveness both on dry surfaces as well as in adverse conditions. Reinforcing Ballistic Bumpers at the toe box and TPU overlays at sensitive areas protect feet from the effect of impacts on rocky terrain. With the traditional lacing system, you can customize a precise fit to your foot’s anatomy. The Invisible Lacing System’s extra fabric layer keeps laces stowed securely on runs and keeps dirt and stones from getting into your shoes. The time-tested Dynafit Heel Preloader lends extra support at the heel.

I have run in lots of brands overtime including Dynafit. This pair felt amazing from the first stride to now which is about 9 months on. I am scared that the shoe will be discontinued and am buying two pairs to replace my current pair.

Ended up finding a pair of these on a great sale spring of '23 and got them to supplement my beloved Speedgoats. Through the years I have largely been in Salomons, Altras, and Hokas. Very quickly these became my favorite shoes for just about every terrain. Great performance, super stable, super comfy. I have ~150 miles on them this year and they're holding up great.

Very light. High arch that's very supportive. Grippy off road traction on sole. Stylish color scheme.

Great shoes for longer distances, they are not too heavily cushioned which I like, but still very comfortable for 100k and beyond, while also being useful for shorter outings as they are quite responsive on technical rocky terrain. Grip is proven excellent even on wet rocks, as well as other surfaces with the Pomoca outsole, Dynafit has the grippiest running shoes out there, while also being very durable at the same time. Shoes are very comfortable and trustworthy, the only real problem is the lacing system, as it does not hold the heel 100% securely, I swap out the laces for a thicker non-elastic lace for a better heel lock, which still does not hold the heel as it should. I don't have this problem with other manufacturers. I don't have this problem with other manufacturers. Shoes are overall wider/higher volume than other Dynafit models, but it gets narrow too quickly in the front, which then rubs on the lateral side, especially on long downhills it gets noticable. Sometimes I can get away with it on longer outings, sometimes it's too bothering, a half size bigger size would mean the heel lock would be even less secured. Other than the fit issue, I am very happy with this model!
Great running shoe, you can tell that it's light. To be precise, you can tell all the weight of this shoe is in the sole and the upper and the innards are super light, which I like. I am a fan of the color and as both a skier and a wannabe summer outdoorsy person the branding is on point. Some folks around me definitely are not, but those folks like to wear white shoes and like to blend in.The size, be warned, is on the quite-very much-clearly small side. They actually say as much that you should size up in the description of the shoe, and believe me you want to. Normally wear 8.5 for loose sneakers and often 8 for dress shoes, and this one I sized up to 9 and it is still snug to me. For trail running I prefer tight fitting so it worked out, but be warned that this ... MoreGreat running shoe, you can tell that it's light. I’ve ran multiple 50k to 50 miles distances in these shoes and loved them. Zero blisters, snug fit with enough room and the best heel cup I have experienced to date. Wouldn’t recommend for 100 milers , go with the 100’s for that. Solid shoe!
I really like the shoe but they run really small. I ended up with a size 12. Typically wear 11/11.5
These shoes are one of my most ideal running shoes because of the lack of height/cushion. They last a lot longer than my ultra 100 pairs as they don’t collapse very easily over time. Although, the cushion of the 100 is very nice at times, these shoes are a little more preferred. The only drawback with this shoe in general is the minimal height in the tread lug, I wish there was a little more to them. Because of this I have to replace the shoe sooner or turn them into regular walking shoes. Other than that they are great!
Water-proof in muddy conditions, good grip. Of course a bit heavier and more stiff than road running shoes, but the latter are slippery on sandy rocks and mud. Good product finition.
