It is very helpful for reading and understanding what the auto tune is doing. It also helped me find out that the throttle position indicator was bad which made the auto tune was kind of useless.
Pretty durable feeling hunk of plastic with a readable display.I'm disappointed it can't read AFR from a PCV without DynoJet's $500 O2 sensor, or water temp from the stock ECU. Both of those make sense in retrospect but I wish it was clearer in the description because those are the two reasons I bought it.
it works great as a logger and for real time display. it's easy to read in the sun or at night. setup is simple. i had it in my bike for several years.
Very pretty. Makes my bike feel like a mercedez. Sometimes I use the buttons.
Why I bought it:I bought the POD-300 because I was getting strange fuel map adjustment suggestions from the autotune on my 2013 Versys (stock exhaust and intake). I wanted to see the A/F ratio live and then fine tune the fuel map (with the PCV software) using the data I saw. The POD-300 allowed me to adjust everything and now I’m much happier with the fueling from the PCV.How I used it:Look at A/F ratioI started by taking the bike out with the stock map that Dynojet gives you for the Versys. With the POD-300, I could see that the stock Dynojet map ran the bike very rich. I knew my mileage would go down when I installed the power commander, but the POD-300 verified why the fuel mileage went down to 40mpg from the 55mpg I was getting before installing the PCV…the A/F ratio, when cruising (55 - 70mph at 10% throttle) was 12.4 – 12.8.Used LEDs for quick reference to see if I was in the ballpark:It was hard to read numbers on the display and ride safely, so I programmed the POD-300 to light the LEDs to indicate the A/F ratio to give me a quick visual indication of what the bike was doing. If the bike was in the target AF ratio the green LED would be lit, if it was rich the amber LED would light, and if it was lean the red LED would light. This worked very well and I was able to ride safe while seeing what the fueling looked like for the bike.Temporally Adjust fueling:I used the fuel adjustment feature to adjust the fueling up and down quickly. Doing this allowed me to tell how much change was needed in the fuel map to get the A/F ratio where I wanted it. I would go to the RPM and throttle position I wanted and see what the A/F ratio was. I would adjust the fuel % up or down until I got the AF ratio I was looking for. I would make a note of the change needed and then incorporate it into my fuel map. This took all the guesswork out of how much to adjust the map.Verify proper changes:After riding around a bit, and taking notes, I would modify my map and then re-flash the PCV. I verified the changes that I made were good with the POD-300.What the results are:The results are great! My fueling is much better (smoother running, faster acceleration, and better MPG).Summary:I got the POD-300 right before going on a 3-day 2800 mile trip from central California to Montana and back…it was freakin hot and the POD-300 never flinched even after being beaten in 120 degree weather through Death Valley and Vegas. The screen stayed visible and the POD just worked properly…the POD-300 delivers. Anyone with a PCV should get one of these for their ride. The bike will run so much better after customizing the fuel map for your bike and flavor of riding.
Ive seen this in action and it is a very desirable addition when running auto tune.Clear and bright enough for full sunlight.Good quality
