I. Am a Dyson fan and over many years have bought three this time i liked the idea of not changing filters. Compared to my previous upright it is not as good the head is light i discarded my old one before i learnt through UTube it was possible to use them using an attachment. My floors are hard with carpet squares i have to work hard keeping finger pressed to stop grabbing. I use that same head on hard floors the other one is not as effective. I recommend watching U Tube before purchase not after like me.

Bought this on boxing day sale and believe me this one is most powerful vacuum cleaner I ever had. It works so well and easy to use. The design, brush pipe and handle are made of premium plastic. The reviews given on this website are actually not true and the reason is people are expecting this to suck pet’s hairs for which they forget they have to dyson’s pet special vacuum cleaner and not this one. For normal house cleaning, this one is the best product so far.

I had the best Dyson product BEFORE, had it for 15+ years and that's why I bought another one. The dual mode head on that older DC model truly was multi-floor, carpet to hard floor no dramas. It sucked the pet hair off carpet easily, no changing attachments. With various things breaking after years of use I decided to get a new vacuum. In hindsight I should have bought the spare parts and kept with my older model. The new model's pneumatic head is useless. The rubber rim seems to be the problem, pushing along carpet is difficult, doesn't suck up pet hair, instead pushes it around and balls it up. If it is multi-surface then why do I have to change attachments to a hard floor head? I now learn that I might need to purchase yet another head for the pet hair on the ... NOT HAPPY AT ALL DYSON....based on your new product, there will be no recommendations from me. If you kept the old style DC dual mode head, your product would be 100%. I agree with all the concerns listed in the reviews above. Does the Dual Mode head suited to the DC vacuums fit the current model stick. If so, in good faith perhaps Dyson should supply them to the current owners of the new model and rethink the existing pneumatic head.

This is our second Dyson ball vacuum. The first one was over 20yrs old and would probably have lasted another 20 years if we hadn't killed it during a kitchen reno. There's a large filter deep in the bowels of the machine and we could have bought a replacement. However, the replacement was expensive (but it did last 20yrs) and I didn't want to take the risk of spending that much on a 20yr old vacuum cleaner. So here we are with a newer, larger version and we're not disappointed. It holds more before it needs emptying, it's easier to empty and the suction......phenomenal. Even allowing for the age of the old one, this one sucks hard. Same Dyson high quality too. As a bonus for the environment, Dyson has a freepost address for you to send back the old unit for ... Even allowing for the age of the old one, this one sucks hard. Same Dyson high quality too. As a bonus for the environment, Dyson has a freepost address for you to send back the old unit for recycling. So keep the box that your new one came in. I have only one small criticism of this new machine. The on/off switch is a little harder to get to. The machine needs to be in the right orientation or you can't get to it with your foot. The old one was way easier. (First world problem.) Would I recommend this Machine? Most definitely.
I normally enjoy home vacuuming and the end results, but this machine is hard work. The machine falls over if not being pulled straight and gets stuck on almost every corner, it's like driving a truck. The suction is too intense (yes there's such a thing), I need to use the lowest setting AND the extra finger trigger air release on the handle to work it comfortably. Machine gets so hot I leave it out to cool before storing. Seems if you have hair longer than a few inches, you need a Pet care vacuum as even with the amazing suction on this machine it struggles to collect the hair so it can suck it up. Just moves it around the floor (even using more suction). Alternative is perhaps going over the whole floor again using the brush head - then having to clean it. The ... The bagless feature is great and so easy to use, but sometimes the base doesn't quite click back in and you don't realise until you lift the whole thing out to empty it. The easy release buttons work well and the colour is pretty, but I'm likely heading back for another Dyson Stick soon enough.
Worst engineering Ever! Multifloor tool scratches floors! do not use on wood or vinyl! Handle will not stay clipped into barrel. Hard to empty container, falls open and dust goes everywhere. Bought a $99 dollar vacuum has better suction than this. Parts out of stock obviously because they're always breaking! Plastic Junk.
We owned an older DC23 for many years which still runs well, but the spring clips that hold the hose to the wand both broke after many years of use, and typical of Dyson, we couldn’t get replacement parts. We held it together with tape for a few years before deciding to replace with this one. Compared to the old one this is trash and little better than a generic brand we have at work but six times the price. In the 12 months have had it, a vital pin that holds the barrel to the base broke off in weeks, but when taken for replacement it was not deemed as a machine fault rather misuse. We refused to pay for the repair, instead supergluing back together. The attachements are cheap and nasty compared to older models, the need to use expensive interface adaptors just to ... We refused to pay for the repair, instead supergluing back together. The attachements are cheap and nasty compared to older models, the need to use expensive interface adaptors just to use new attachments is a joke. And honestly the suction is not a par on the old one. In the past I have forgiven issues with products like the hand vacuums and fan, because overall they were so superior, however this has lost me as a customer, I’m over the brand and arrogance that comes with their superiority. If you are pulling that joke your product needs to be superior to a cheap generic brand bag-less, which this isn’t.
Having had my previous Dyson for almost 20 years I was a little disappointed with this new one. It does what a vacuum is supposed to do but having to change the brush tool when moving from carpet to hard floors is a bit of a pain. There is no where on the body of the vacuum to keep the tools so you have carry them around. The dirt gets stuck at the back of the barrel and if your'e not careful when you take the barrel off to empty it the bottom opens and all the dust etc ends up back on the floor. Overall it is a good vacuum but it feels cheap because it's all plastic.
The supposed dual floor tool is horrible note that there is no turbo function (we were given poor advice in the store) and it's very hard to push over carpet. The finish seems much more cheap and nasty than previous Dysons. Emptying of the canister doesn't work well - total lottery on getting the bottom to clip back into place and when taking the canister off the vacuum good luck - there's a good chance you'll spill everything over the floor that you just vacuumed. This was my third Dyson. I don't think there will be a fourth.
I can’t tell how disappointed about this vacuum. - The design is unnecessary busy. - The worst thing is the handle: it’s so heavy for me. I almost have a sore wrist after 10 minutes using it. - Couldn’t pick up hair or dust on the floor well… - It has small wheels on the powerhead, so you can’t keeping vacuum straight line if you want to, it’s rolling side way. I don’t know if I can stop it rolling like that. I do not like this vacuum at all.
