I have a modest sized house, nothing really huge (4 bed, 2 bath, living room, kitchen and utility room, 2 story) so this is good for me.I definitely recommend this if you want ease of use and a good solid stick vacuum. in fact as i was doing the vacuuming I kept hearing in my head a line from the movie Spaceballs, you know it: suck...Suck...SUCK!!! LOL. Oh and the sound it makes when it runs and then shuts off is wickedly cool. looks like a giant hand canon and sounds like a space blaster. what more can a sci-fi geek want out of a vacuum. makes it fun!

It came with a partial charge so I immediately tested the main areas I bought it for. The sofa is used by two big dogs and I was SHOCKED at how much fur got sucked up in only a few minutes. Sometimes I try to baby it by vacuuming some areas on the lowest setting before I switch up to the medium setting. So you can’t have a spare. This is especially annoying when you do want to get the whole house vacuumed in one go. But you have to stop and wait a good couple hours half way through. I’m even considering trying the Shark corded stick vacuum because of this.

It even came with an extra attachment which is super awesome. The power is unmatched with my previous big box store vacuum purchases. It was 3 different power options and 2 different floor levels. It easily transitions from hardwood to plush rugs to my rubber gym floor mat with easy and quick adjustments to meet the needs of each. The attachments are great, easy to switch over and met all my household needs. The canister is a single handed release that empties without additional mess right into the garbage can. Indeed, immediately after using the Dyson, the floor needs to be swept because the Dyson does not do what it is supposed to do. Second, the trigger switch that turns the vacuum on is very poorly designed. It puts pressure on my finger which is quite painful. I would guess that the Dyson executives have never used the Dyson vacuum. If they had used it, the trigger switch would have been designed differently. Third, changing attachments is extremely difficult. The tubes for the floor attachment fit so tightly that it is almost impossible to remove them so a different attachment can be used. Fourth, it is very difficult to empty the dirt/dust bin. Dyson claims that there is no need to touch the dirt when emptying the dust bin. That is an outright lie. In order to empty the bin, I have to squeeze my hand up into the bin to pull the dust and debris out. Fifth, the Dyson vacuum is absurdly over priced compared to other vacuums which are infinitely better than the Dyson. In sum, the Dyson vacuum is the worst vacuum that I have ever had in terms of functionality, performance, and user friendliness. I for one will never buy another Dyson product.
