I’m not sure why it’s got such a low rating because it works flawlessly and perfectly. I’m assuming those people didn’t realize this is made specifically for hard floors? Idk, but this is far lighter and more maneuverable than my V15-which is already light and maneuverable itself-but the design of this is very similar to how you’d use a broom, with the handle being similar and the way that you can easily move it in any direction similar to how Swiffer sweepers move makes it intuitive and ... MoreI bought this a few weeks ago because I’d just moved into a new place that doesn’t have any carpet at all anywhere in the house, so I figured this would be a good addition for keeping my floors clean, while I continue to use my V15 on all carpets and rugs I put down in the home. The double spinning fluffy cleaning heads easily sweep up any dust, dirt, and debris from your floors and leave it perfectly clean. It does work better if you kind of slowly move it around to allow the cleaning heads to brush up everything rather than just moving it around quickly like you would a mop or broom, but you get perfectly clean floors if you just patiently go over it once. I also appreciate that it comes with all the other attachments so that you’re able to use it as a handheld for light cleaning in between uses of my full size/power V15, and it’d also got a mini motorized tool as well that’s great for using on furniture, and the lighted crevice tool is great as well. The bin isn’t very large, so if you have a home like mine where every floor is a hard surface then you may need to empty the bin halfway through. But I’ve got a cat inside and have about 2,200sq ft of floors I use this on and I’m able to do the whole house and my living room furniture before the bin fills all the way up. It’s also got a long enough battery life to do the whole house and furniture on a single charge, and I’ve never really had to use the max suction mode, as regular/eco seems perfectly adequate. Either way, this is an absolute must have for anyone with hard floors in their home (it’s also great to vacuum your car out with) and I’m definitely satisfied with my purchase

Makes Sweeping and Dusting Easy!
16 June 2024

I hesitated on this purchase a while. It's cheaper than other dyson vacuum, but it can't do carpet/rug. I don't have any carpet, but this still seemed like it could be something I use once a month and isn't worth it.I was wrong; I love it. I can take it, essentially sweep/dust a room(s), and be done in 1-2 min. I don't have to worry about dust or hair blowing away before picking it up, bending over to use the dustpan, or not getting all the dust. I also use it on some other hard surfaces that get dusty like bottom tiers of tables. The dusting rollers are excellent. I have a dog and it handles hair with ease as well. My home is much cleaner than it would be if I still had to use a broom and dustpan (partly because the onmi-glide is very effective, partly because I ... MoreI hesitated on this purchase a while. The attachments it comes with are useful. It's light, although not as light as I expected. The bin fills up super fast, but is easy to empty (I'd like to see the bin enlarged in the next iteration). As far as I can tell so far, it hasn't left any scratches in my wooden or stone floors. It glides really nicely and is very maneuverable.

Not enough suction!
1 November 2023

The head maneuverability is excellent. However, there is not enough suction in the unit -- when using the crevice tool, it cannot pick up all crumbs (crevice tool needs to be removed for all the crumbs to be picked up directly from the bottom of the canister.)- which any simple hand held vacuum can do. This leads me to believe that the roller heads are dusting/picking up debris rather than the suction. I have tried 2 units and both were no better straight out of the box. Dyson is offering to exchange for yet a third unit, but not sure how it would be any better than the first two. If they could update this model by keeping the head and improving the suction on it, it would be a 5-star vacuum. This is only being used on hardwood floors and no animals in the house and I have no issues with the canister size or anything else. Suction power is the most critical function of a vacuum. Without it, this is a glorified floor swifter.I have an older upright Dyson "ball" vaccum which has been wonderful so I know they are capable of producing a vacuum with plenty of power. Just wish they would add some of that power to this model.

Not up to the usual standard.
20 January 2024

I have given a one star approval rating for this product. Although the unit and accessories are up to the usual standard for Dyson, there are several issues which need to be addressed. A flat floor head should have been included in the pack, a cheap but a very essential accessory to any vacuum cleaner. The hanging or suspension unit / bracket is all but useless as the unit can very easily slip out. A better click type of catch would have made it easy to hang anywhere safely. So, be careful where and how you intend to store / hang and charge your Dyson. This was not a cheap product to buy and I am extremely disappointed. Not what I expected
21 February 2024

It’s ok. Very expensive for what it is and what it does. Swiffer dust clothes are just as effective and they’re disposable. This is not for a rug or carpet. Hard floors only. It actually stops the roller even on a very very low profile carpet or mat. The dust container capacity is very very small. And it is also hard to hold on to because the handle for this vacuum is actually the battery. No contouring or any real handle to grip. It’s just ok. I’ll keep it for our camper and to use on pet hair that gets under our bed and furniture. But if I had known it was just a very expensive dust mop I would not have bought it. I paid $200 and that is with a $100 off sale discount. This is normally over $300. Just not worth it.

The mini motorised brush attachment is particularly useful for more detailed cleaning. Slight downside is the size of dust container but this is a very small price to pay as emptying the contents is a breeze.Fitting the docking station to the wall was so easy and holds the cleaner firmly while recharging.Dyson is not renowned for low prices but I can assure you this vacuum cleaner and accessories are excellent value for money.

You need this if you have hardwood floors!!!!!
3 March 2024

Amazing floor vacuum nothing close to it. The fact that it doesn’t damage or literally no part of the vacuum has anything that will scratch or touch your hardwood floors. The only thing that come in contact with your hard wood floors are the soft microfiber brushes. The only down side is that the battery last for about 30 minutes on a full charge and then takes about 5 hours to full re charge again. And for the price it is pretty expensive. But if you really care about your hard wood floors there really isn’t any other route to go but this. The good thing is that it only take about 5 minutes to quickly vacuum the floors. And you’ll thank yourself for taking care of your floors. Also the suction is very strong that you only need a couple of passes and your done.

would never give up my omni

I have owned 2 of these (1 for upstairs, 1 for down) for 2 years. I'm not young so walking up and down the stairs carrying even this light vacuum was not for me. I use each vacuum at least one to 2 times per day. Third omni is going to my daughter. Omni vacuums bare floors and large throw rugs and area rugs. It will take off the crumbs and surface dirt from a carpet. Attachment is great for floorboards and smaller areas. (Dyson sells other helpful attachments, but the knock-offs from Amazon are much cheaper.) We have cats and the omni picks up the kicked up mat litter as well as cat hair and human hair. I have used a SEAM RIPPER for years on wheeled appliances such as vacuums and carpet cleaning machines. Works great on omni too. (Seam rippers at Amazon....pack of 4 for $3.99. They don't break, but you may lose them as they are small). One year after owning the omnis we replaced all upstairs carpeting with hard flooring as the omni made cleaning hard floors easier and better than trying to keep carpeting clean. Main level will soon be carpet free too.
