Absolutely the best purifying fan heater I have ever owned

I downloaded the Dyson app which works just as well on my iPad as it does my iPhone and started to explore its features. At first, it's easy to dismiss some of the features as "nice" but "not really necessary" but as I explored the different settings, I quickly began to understand that this is way more than a device for just keeping us cool, hot or getting rid of cooking smells. The other morning my wife put some scented moisturiser on her arms and almost instantly it registered with the fan heater. The app gave a clear description of what it had detected, namely something scented, and began cleaning the air. It has done this with cooking smells and er, other household smells we won't go into here 😊I can't recommend this enough. Yes, it is expensive but as the old adage goes, you get what you pay for.Huge thanks to John Lewis for dispatching this very rapidly for next day delivery. Great service as ever.

So, I locked myself in with the culprit, not knowing any better...It is difficult to describe the smell--perhaps somewhat like paint remover. However, it is *not* difficult to describe its effect on my health!I have a constant throat irritation, and if I stay in the study long enough (like on a work day), my chest gets constricted and I start coughing. It also affects my eyes, causing them to burn and tear up.The result? I'm now wearing a MASK in my house because that stench is in the carpets and curtains! So, what happened to the Dyson Air Polluter? Well, it is wrapped in plastic and sitting in the garage. I still feel too bad to throw hundreds of $$ on the e-waste dump! But that is what it is - no better than massively expensive e-waste!When I checked online, there are heaps of other people who complained about the same thing. Check it for yourself; just google "dyson hp09 smell" and see how many results you get.Do NOT buy a Dyson fan. Save LOTS of $$ and buy something else.

All this with air purification! There's a handy remote control which is magnetised and fits neatly on top of the curved part of the machine and it doesn't fall off! You can download the Dyson app onto your smartphone so the controls are literally at your fingertips. I rarely use the remote control because of this reason. The HP09 Hot & Cool Formaldehyde is floorstanding and approximately 77cm tall (30 inches approx) and 71cm at fan base / diameter (28 inches) approximately. It's a sturdy and robust machine. I use it in different rooms but the Dyson isn't the easiest to move about.I have to add here, that since using the Dyson, my respiratory condition (asthma) seems to have improved. I don't have as many coughing fits and the tightness in the chest has eased. Good product!

Purchased this device to replace a Gen 1 Pure Hot & Cold (also bought a Big and Quiet on the same purchase).I can say the design is a dramatic improvement over our original device with a host of great new features. The pairing to the app is so seamless (thank goodness cause the former way was excruciating), and I wasn't even aware of the feature to re-direct the airflow from the front to the sides! As much as I do consider myself a Dyson advocate (I have multiple products) its not achieving everything I thought it would. I'm rather disappointed with the effectiveness of the sensor for filtration as I've sprayed aerosols into the air close to the unit whilst its on Auto - and it did not increase the air flow level/strength at all which I find odd. I'm rather disappointed with the effectiveness of the sensor for filtration as I've sprayed aerosols into the air close to the unit whilst its on Auto - and it did not increase the air flow level/strength at all which I find odd. Another example of this is smoke coming from outside (from the neighbour's BBQ) which came in through our ensuite into the bedroom - again the unit was on auto and did not change strength, resulting in our room having a smokey odour for some time before it filtered it out. I also notice dust layering around countertops directly around and nearby the machine, which I thought it would at least reduce, but has not seemed to have any impact. Given these 2 things are core to the machine's functions (and why we bought it) it has negatively impacted my score on the device, especially for the price it is sold at.

Quiet & App pairs fairly well. Overpriced & smelly
7 November 2023

Works as written. Quiet and pretty good out of the box experience. There's a few streamlining things I would have expected for the price though. I think, if you're reading this, you already know what works about the product as outlined by the company write-ups, so I'll just focus on the issues (which is not to bias you towards the negative).- Very expensive. For the amount you pay and for similar products you'd expect a lot more and I could have easily purchased 2 products that solved this problem for 1/4 the price. (Many of the following issues are also in line with expectations of Dyson and the price tag. If this were a cheaper product I would not have as high expectations.)- The app is ok but there's a lot of UI/UX things that are odd and confusing and I'm ... MoreWorks as written. (Many of the following issues are also in line with expectations of Dyson and the price tag. If this were a cheaper product I would not have as high expectations.)- The app is ok but there's a lot of UI/UX things that are odd and confusing and I'm not sure how much user testing was done as the flow just doesn't feel right and isn't super intuitive.- The device smells... It has a sickly sweet smell that might be the filters or something but just doesn't smell right if you get near the actual device and the air it's pushing out. This is kinda contrary to the purpose of the device as it's supposed to be cleaning the air and not making things smell worse.- Remote magnet concept - good in theory but seems like a great way to get knocked off and lost. Also it is placed face down, which seems odd. I assume this was a design choice to avoid people pressing the buttons while it's on the device but just seems like an odd choice at accessibility.- App limitations - this sounds like it's a legal issue but the app cannot adjust the temperature of the device. While I understand this is not Dyson's fault, I wish it was more clear before purchasing the device.- Pretty big - it's just sizable and you kind of have to make it a statement piece as opposed to just hiding it about your house.- Gold and silver? Really? Can't I just get silver or black or something simpler? Not a huge fan of how much it stands out with the color choices you have when purchasing.Overall it's just OK.For the price tag I don't think it's worth it but I had FSA money to spend that was going to disappear... So that's why I'm here and probably why it's 3 stars and not 2.

I have a gas furnace here in CA and PG&E provides gas. Unfortunately, the cost per therm rate in winter is beyond redidulous at approximately $3.00/therm out the door. After last winter, the first spent in this house, I was looking for another way to heat my house and cut the cost. A friend had a Dyson purifier hot+cold and I was surprised and impressed how well it heated a room without issue. I bought an HP09 and HP07 through Dyson hoping I could achieve the same results. I use these 2 units to heat 1,325 sf. in an open floor planned house. I can run both (or just one) at fan setting of 4 and heat setting of 74 and maintain inside temperature (during waking hours) of 73 degrees even if at low 40's high 30's outside (typical of temperatures in my area in the evening ... MoreI have a gas furnace here in CA and PG&E provides gas. I have been able to keep my gas rate at less than $100.00/mo. (33 therms/mo., which translates to heating at 71 degrees for 1.5 hours in the morning and then shut it off the rest of the day) and heat the house with the Dysons at an increase of only $50.00-$60.00 more a month on my electrical bill (I pay .1194 per kWh which is a fixed rate). This has been a game changer. Last year during winter, gas monthly cost was $200.00/mo. and that was keeping the temp at 64 degrees during the day, 62 degrees at night and only 3.5 hours at 68 degrees (1.5 hrs. waking up and 2 hours before sleeping). I can't even imagine how expensive it would have been each month to keep the temperature at low 70's during the day just using gas, thus wanted another way to heat my house. So far so good.

Brought this product directly from Dyson as we were very hot over summer. We have had positive experiences with our V15 vacuum so we thought this product would also meet our needs. This product works well to warm the air but that’s about it. Cool is the key word in the product name, all this is a Bladeless fan that pushes around hot air like a fan you can buy from Kmart for 80 dollars. I am not sure how Dyson have determined the retail price of this product. A air purifier, a Bladeless fan and a heater whilst being seperate purchases would cost you about 300-400 dollars. What is the other 1000 dollars going on? Waste of money for most people

Unless you live in the middle of Beijing or New Delhi you are not going to need this or even any air purifier for that matter.I live in a normal UK city and my air quality is constantly in the green and only goes high or extreme if something has been sprayed nearby. It clearly does a perfect job of detecting any pollutants and removing them but most people aren't going to need this. The main reason I bought this was to help with dust and honestly I can't tell a difference. The machine itself seems to collect a lot of dust on the surface, especially all around the white area, but not so much actually going into the filter, so for me it's a total waste of money. The fan is ok at cooling but you have to be close to it. Disappointing.
