With the Dyson Supersonic 2021 Nickel/Copper, you can dry both straight and curly hair, thanks to the included attachments. The diffuser is great for curls and you can use the nozzle with comb for straight hair. The nozzle also prevents your hair from getting tangled while you blow-dry it. The Supersonic is also smaller, lighter, and more silent than you'd expect from your regular hair dryer. The digital V9 motor is built into the handle, which means you don't get a heavy arm while you dry your hair. That's really nice, as it ensures a comfortable distribution of weight and balance. You can fix your hair in place with the cool shot function, so it retains its shape for longer. The intelligent heat control measures the air temperature 40 times per second and adjusts it if necessary. That way, you always have the right settings and you don't damage your hair by overheating it. NOTE: this is not a Dyson Airwrap. Magnetic attachmentsThe 5 included attachments are magnetic, so they always fit on the Supersonic. You don't have to force them on or bend them, but you attach them to the dryer effortlessly. And the attachments are always cool to the touch, thanks to the double casing. This way, you never burn your hands when you switch them. Small and lightThe digital V9 motor is built into the handle of the dryer, instead of the head. That means the weight is better distributed and you can easily move the dryer over your hair. A tired arm while you dry and style your hair is a thing of the past. Heat protectionBased on research on different hair types, Dyson developed an intelligent heat control for the Supersonic. With the heat control, the dryer measures the air temperature 40 times per second and adjusts the heat accordingly. This way, the dryer always has exactly the right temperature and you prevent both hair damage and frizzy hair.

I live in a humid climate so drying my hair is a miserable sweaty experience! I often feel as if I have to wash and dry my hair so much to avoid the friz that I was worrying I was ruining my hair. Once I turned down the heat and speed, I was thrilled with the results. My hair feels healthy and I can go many days without having to wash (remember humid climate so this is a big deal!). I work out often so my hair gets sweaty, but I have found that I can just dry my hair quickly to reset. It is really easy to clean and I don't get hair stuck in the intake. Now for the cons: Bulky Cord: The cord is pretty substantial and it is hard to store. Seriously, this part doesn't bother me (and I live in a small house!). The other hair dryers are large and cumbersome too. Eventually, Dyson will figure out how to have the cord plug in and charge like our phones.Cost: It is hard to justify this because only time will tell. This is new technology so I am assuming it will improve and become more mainstream, therefore, lowering the cost. BUT, right now, this item is worth it!

I gave up blow drying my hair years ago because I lacked the time, patience or skill to spend 30+ minutes using a hair dryer and ending up with a frizzy mop that just got bundled up into a pony tail. My default was putting my hair in a bun wet and letting it air dry that way, hoping to tame the frizz and basically just keeping my hair out of the way. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. All of that has changed with the Dyson. I can dry my hair in 6 minutes flat with the gentle air attachment - and not just dry, but out-the-door ready with my hair down and looking styled with minimal effort. The diffuser takes 8-10 minutes and the extra time is because I have to tame the front a little with some product after I am done drying. I let my daughter try it - she has much longer and thicker hair than me, but the diffuser took her about 8 minutes too, down from the 45+ minutes it normally takes her. Even better, I donāt feel the extreme heat or burning on my scalp that I have felt with other dryers and the noise, for me at least, is much more tolerable. I read a review that said the Dyson Supersonic is only worth it for people who wash and dry their hair every day, but I think the Dyson is also worth it for someone like me who had totally given up on blow drying and styling their hair. I have worn my hair down more times in the last three weeks than the last three years and for maybe the first time in my life I am enjoying my hair as an āaccessoryā in a way that until now I was only able to do with trips to the salon. Early morning meeting? Last minute date night? No problem. I know I can wash my hair and be ready to go in literally minutes. Drying my hair now takes less time than washing it and getting dressed and the weird part is I actually look forward to doing it. I am sure this reads like a promotional review, but it is just so refreshing to spend money on something that truly does what it says itās going to do that I felt I had to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. If I have to give a negative itās the case, which looks gorgeous but is not very practical. The inserts are all cardboard and unless you want to spend more time taking your hair dryer out and putting it away than it takes to actually dry your hair, you will probably end up getting rid of those flimsy pieces pretty quickly. That means your beautiful, expensive hair dryer ends up getting shoved in the box on top or underneath of all the attachments and it is not a very practical or elegant solution. An option for a stand or wall mount instead of the expensive but not very helpful case would be great. Other than that, thanks Dyson, for a game changing product.

Iād been thinking about and wanting a supersonic for a while now and was a bit hesitant due to the price and the fact that I could get other very high end professional blow dryers for a third of the price, but I initially felt the same way about dyson vacuums until I bought my first V8 years ago and realized how well made and engineered dyson products were. So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. Yes, almost $600 for a hair dryer is quite a lot, but this special edition includes the newly restyled presentation case as well as 5 attachments-including due new flyaway attachment, which is every bit as impressive as dyson makes it out to be-and it came with a matching paddle brush and wide tooth comb. The colors are absolutely beautiful in this vinca blue and rose gold tone, and the presentation case is quite nice in the vinca blue as well. Being that itās a dyson, it has an amazing motor inside to power the dryer, as well as dysons really cool air multiplier technology, not to mention it just looks super cool with the hollow end on it. Itās also far smaller than any other dryer, making it easier to work with. I absolutely love the way the attachments are magnetic and very easily and simply change out, and it also allows you to rotate any of the attachments however much you like so you can get the best angle and most ergonomic grip to tend to any part of your head/hair. The 12 different settings are really cool and helpful as well (thereās 3 speed settings and 4 heat settings that you can each set individually, as well as a dedicated cool shot button you can press at any time regardless of the heat setting you have it on to either set your hair style once finished or if you have a sensitive scalp and the heat is burning you and you need a quick break to cool off) I also love all the attachments so much, both for their individual functions as well as the way dyson made them so that they always stay cool and allow you to touch and grab and change them out at any time. I seriously I no idea how they managed to make the attachments heat proof like that, but itās a great and held up feature for using this dryer, as youāll most likely end up using multiple attachments every time you use it. And youāve probably noticed the way theyāre making a big deal out of the new flyaway attachment, but I can assure you that itās warranted because it truly is every bit as impressive and innovative as they make it out to be. Yes, it looks a bit silly on there at first and it can be a bit awkward learning to use it for the first time, but within the very first ten seconds of using it for the first time ever, youāll immediately see why dyson is so proud of it, because it does every single thing they claim it will and works as perfectly as they say and is as easy to use as they say. I thought itād be an attachment Iād never use tbh, but itās became an absolute must use attachment every time I use the dryer now because of how well it works. You literally can use just that one attachment alone to straighten your hair as well as their flat iron does, and it absolutely does hide all the flyaways and smooths your hair perfectly. It also does attract your hair just like they claim; idk how it does it, especially because thereās air blowing out of it, but it legit attracts your hair to it like a magnet and pulls the longer hairs in tighter to cover any flyaways. Itās a genius attachment. Also can be used to give a bit of shape to the ends of your hair if you want. Itās seriously super cool and I highly recommend buying that attachment if you have an older supersonic that you got before that attachment was created. Itās truly the best dryer on the market, but the attachments make it even better and allows it to do so much more, and it also is a beautiful work of art like all other dyson products. And again, itās so much smaller than other dryers, making it far easier to work with and less prone to your arms getting tired from holding it up above your head for a while since itās much shorter and doesnāt have to be held as far away as other dryers, and itās far more lightweight and perfectly balanced too, further helping ergonomics on it. If youāre on rhe fence about it, just go ahead and get it; I promise you wonāt regret it and youāll wish you got it sooner. Itāll make drying and styling your hair so much easier and faster and better and youāll get that perfect salon style every single day with this product. Not to mention the fact that itās got a two year warranty like all other dyson products, even if you donāt buy it from dyson. Just register it with its serial number on the dyson site or MyDyson app (which also has lots of cool helpful features for dyson owners and I highly suggest the app too) and itāll start your warranty as well as give you the owners manual for your product. It easily allows you to make a warranty claim, should you have an issue with your device, and it also easily lets you buy additional parts for your product, such as additional attachments or filters, presentation cases, stands, etc. Oh and also, if you buy any dyson product and register it to start itās warranty, dyson also sends you exclusive 20% off coupon codes. They sent me 2 separate 20% off codes during December that I could use on almost any dyson product (which were already on sale for the holiday season) and they do that for all dyson owners a few times throughout the year. I just wish Iād have gotten the code before buying this supersonic because I couldāve gotten it for such a good deal š© but itās still absolutely worth every single penny I spent on it, despite paying full price before they went on sale in December. Iām now seriously considering buying an airwrap just because of how well the supersonic is!
Iāve watched this hairdryer presentation and in stores for years but thought how ridiculous itās a hair dryer. I have to admit it does dry hair faster but I would still have areas that were not smooth not shiny. I had been very careful to keep all the packaging. I decided itās going back saving a few minutes drying your hair when your retired and not trying to get to work every morning itās not worth the cost. I started putting all this stuff in those boxes and no way was all that its going back into those boxes. So I decided I would watch the presentation and see if that would help me do a better job. I saw the very last presentation before they sold out earlier than expected. If I had seen this presentation I would not have bought the dryer. Jen Coffey would have turned me off in a minute. She kept running her mouth about how limited in time they were. Probably wouldnāt be able to finish this one much less the last one planned. She ran her mouth and wasted time over absolutely nothing finally the rep came out to dry her hair and demonstrate how to use it correctly and Jen never shuts up. But I did get to see the one piece I wasnāt using and thatās why I wasnāt getting the desired look. So Iām going to keep it a few more days thinking I will get use to using it correctly and getting the most out of it. There are so many of the hosts I canāt tolerate Iām done with QVC. I love Carolyn and Gary they are entertaining but get the information you need to get the right pieces in the right size usually.
I ordered a Supersonic when it was first launched with just 3 attachments and my hair was still quite short. I really didn't find any difference from my existing Fransen Professional hairdryer that I'd had for nearly 40 years and was still going strong, so I returned the Supersonic.I've now decided to grow my hair: This is going to be a bit of a nightmare as it's naturally wavy, very thick and coarse - classic Celtic red hair. When I let it dry naturally, it takes most of the day and my faithful Fransen, which only has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser attachment is definitely about to conk out! When I saw that this now had the additional attachments, I decided to give it another try. When I let it dry naturally, it takes most of the day and my faithful Fransen, which only has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser attachment is definitely about to conk out! When I saw that this now had the additional attachments, I decided to give it another try. I chose this option over the slightly less expensive nickel/black/fuchsia item, as this came with the storage case.So what's the verdict this time around - brilliant! On my old hairdryer I had to use the highest heat/speed setting to get my still very short hair dry; it took about 30 minutes and left my hair really frizzy, so then I needed loads of product before and after drying to get any smoothness or definition. With the Supersonic, I used the lowest heat/speed setting and was done in under 10 minutes. I tried both the 'gentle dry' ripple attachment and the wide comb to finger dry the roots without blowing all the wave out of my hair, followed by the diffuser for just a few minutes to take most of the water out, then left it a bit damp to finish air drying naturally, which only took about another hour as opposed to most of the day if I'd just towel dried it and left it.The only attachment that I've not yet used is the smoothing one, which I may not need, but you never know!My hair is now the shiniest and softest it's ever been - even when left to airdry. The texture also has more definition and as my hair is growing the waves are turning into defined curls.Yes, this is expensive, but it's worth every penny!
After using my hair dryer for about 6 months I started to hear a humming sound coming from battery pack when plugged in. The battery pack would get extremely hot as well. Could not leave plugged in, so constantly was plugging this in when I needed to use it each day. Called Dyson for assistance and was told they would send a replacement since service center was on other side of state. I had to send mine back and then once they received it they would send replacement. Unfortunately, they did not have the color I had so I had to take the standard color. Received the new one and then after 6 months this one started the humming from battery pack and got very hot. Received the new one and then after 6 months this one started the humming from battery pack and got very hot. Called Dyson and this time was told this was normal, which I found hard to believe considering how hot the battery pack gets if you leave plugged in. They also told me that even though I received a replacement for my first one, I was out of warranty for the new one that I only had for 6 months. The warranty was only for 1 year from time of original purchase. The remaining 1 year warranty from new one was not valid and mine was no longer under warranty. To pay over $300 for a hair dryer and not to have new warranty for replacement does not reflect the type of product you would expect from this Dyson. I have to remember to unplug my hair dryer when done, in fear it can catch fire. If I accidentally forget I find I have to return home after leaving for work to unplug. After only about an hour the battery pack is extremely hot when left plugged in, even when not used. Iāve had other brands of hair dryers for years and none of them get hot when plugged in like this Dyson. They know thereās a problem with the battery pack and are not resolving it for their customers.
The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer works wonderfully. With my regular dryer, I could spend about half an hour just trying to get it relatively dry, and then I could spend another 20 - 40 minutes trying to get it straight and flat, which only could be achieved with a flat iron. With the Dyson hair dryer, it only took half an hour to get dry, straight, flat hair. The new flyaway attachment is awesome. It helps me to get rid of all the fluffy, fuzzy little hairs, but it also made the whole length of the hair to be flat. Frizz was gone, efficiently and easily. The takeaway of all this is that the time of exposure to heat is cut to more than half and with better results. My hair is wavy, but if I treat it with a curly cream and dry it using a diffuser I can get it quite ...Ā MoreThe Dyson Supersonic hair dryer works wonderfully. The takeaway of all this is that the time of exposure to heat is cut to more than half and with better results. My hair is wavy, but if I treat it with a curly cream and dry it using a diffuser I can get it quite curly. With the Dyson diffuser attachment, my hair got dry, really dry, very quickly and the curls looked fabulous. With my regular hair dryer, I was only able to get the dampness out, but it was never really dry, thus the weight of the water that was still in my hair would make the curls stretch out and by the time it got completely dry the shape of the curls was gone. To get the finish I got with the Dyson in only 20 minutes (maybe less than that) I would need to keep drying my hair for at least 45 minutes or more before it was really dry, and then the final result would be a big fluff of frizzy hair.I think is quite pricey. Hopefully, it will last for a long long time.Shipping was very quick even though it was delayed for a bit.
I purchased this supersonic hair drier about a month ago. I have naturally fine long curly hair which is now getting a little thinner at the front and parting line. I would say that I am still getting used to this different drying experience so my review is based on short term use. I bought this to use with the diffuser attachment only. I do not straighten my hair.so do not intend to use the other attachments that came with it. I would definately recommend that before using the drier that you watch the video on the Dyson website or other similar ones on line which help with technique and the use of products. You will then get a better result . I wish I had done this before my first use as after watching the tutorial I found the results much better than just guessing ...Ā MoreI purchased this supersonic hair drier about a month ago. I would definately recommend that before using the drier that you watch the video on the Dyson website or other similar ones on line which help with technique and the use of products. You will then get a better result . I wish I had done this before my first use as after watching the tutorial I found the results much better than just guessing what to do. As I have fine hair I find that I need to have the heat setting either on cool or on the first heat setting as I do feel that unless I do this ,for me it is too hot for my scalp which was initially a concern for me. Again it is practice and now I adjust the position of the drier whilst having the diffuser attachment connected. I find that I can use the diffuser to lift my hair for a bit more volume. I have found already that my hair feels softer and my curls are not frizzy and are more defined than with my previous drier and diffuser. The drying time is amazingly quick. I also like the magnetic attachments which is so easy and the weight of the drier. As I am still a newbie to this product and still getting used to it I have not given it 5 stars. For me the only negative thing is the heat setting. I appreciate a lot of research and testing has gone into this product having read about it on the Dyson website but there is no way with my hair that I could have it on a higher heat setting. So far I am happy with the drier and would recommend it. * This is an honest customer opinion and not sponsored* :-)
First, let me start with, I am a HUGE Dyson fan, purchasing this dryer, the Dyson Airwrap Syler for our daughter for her birthday last year, and the Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum W/Grab and Go Floor Dock about 1 1/2 years ago.Our daughter loves her Dyson Airwrap Styler, using the dryer, almost daily for just about a year.I LOVE the Dyson Cordless Vac so much, I've talked several friends into purchasing the Vacuum. This is the Best stick vacuum brand I've ever used, having owned a Shark as well as Bissell vacuum. Hands down Dyson is the Best!!!Our daughter, has also told several friends, how much she loves her Dyson Hairwrap Styler. Several of her friends purchased the product because of our love for Dyson products.Imagine my disappointment when I ...Ā MoreFirst, let me start with, I am a HUGE Dyson fan, purchasing this dryer, the Dyson Airwrap Syler for our daughter for her birthday last year, and the Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum W/Grab and Go Floor Dock about 1 1/2 years ago.Our daughter loves her Dyson Airwrap Styler, using the dryer, almost daily for just about a year.I LOVE the Dyson Cordless Vac so much, I've talked several friends into purchasing the Vacuum. Hands down Dyson is the Best!!!Our daughter, has also told several friends, how much she loves her Dyson Hairwrap Styler. Several of her friends purchased the product because of our love for Dyson products.Imagine my disappointment when I purchased the Dyson Supersonic Hairdryer w/attachments, only to have the dryer stop working in less than 5 months. I lhad hoped, I would use the duffuser for my go to Spring/Summer hairstyles. I had looked forward to using the regular air attachment to straighten my hair for the Fall/ Winter months.I called QVC and spoke to someone in CS, I was told I needed to contact Dyson, they would handle the repair. I do NOT want it repaired I want a new dryer!!!Please make sure you read reviews here on QVC as well as the reviews on Dyson. Seems as though I am not alone with the dryer, suddenly not working. Dyson does have a 2 year warranty, but again, I have to go through Dyson to repair the dryer.I will follow-up my final review after I contact Dyson and have an outcome.
