I’m a skeptic when it comes to some styling equipment, like how different can a machine that blows air at your head be from any other device that does the same thing? The Dyson definitely changed my mind and made me a believer that higher quality and better technology can be a game changer for your hair. The dryer is light, quiet, has a nice long thick cord, has the right balance of heat and power as well as a cool setting to lock styles in place. Mine came with attachments, I use the concentrator often with my round brush for a fresh blown out look. Without the attachments the dryer gives an excellent rough dry and gets the job done quickly. Overall, it’s still a heat styling tool so, continuing to style using heat isn’t going to repair hair and this dryer doesn’t ...Ā MoreI’m a skeptic when it comes to some styling equipment, like how different can a machine that blows air at your head be from any other device that does the same thing? Overall, it’s still a heat styling tool so, continuing to style using heat isn’t going to repair hair and this dryer doesn’t claim to do that, what I think it does help with is limiting dry time length without blasting your hair with fire heat. It’s got that perfect balance of heat and airflow. Lastly - Dyson dryer vs airwrap, I have ZERO regrets about the dryer and am glad I got the dryer instead of the airwrap. I bought some cheap airwrap like curling attachments that fit on dyson dryer, they work beautifully, curls look wonderful but I don’t find them to be a replacement for my t3 curling iron. I don’t find my airwrap type curls to stay as long as using a regular curling iron. I also don’t think this is do the the attachments being cheap, I’ve used the real airwrap before and it just wants a replacement a traditional iron and buying the actual airwrap vs the dryer would have been a waste, for me. For anyone thinking about dryer vs airwrap, in my opinion the dyson dryer is better splurge for your money.

Like many I hesitated over this purchase because of the steep price - but three weeks in my only regret is that I didn’t buy this sooner. I gave up blow drying my hair years ago because I lacked the time, patience or skill to spend 30+ minutes using a hair dryer and ending up with a frizzy mop that just got bundled up into a pony tail. My default was putting my hair in a bun wet and letting it air dry that way, hoping to tame the frizz and basically just keeping my hair out of the way. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. If I had an early meeting or had to get out the door fast there was no way I could wash my hair unless it was the night before, and I hate going to bed with wet hair. All of that has changed with the Dyson. I can dry my hair in 6 minutes flat with the gentle air attachment - and not just dry, but out-the-door ready with my hair down and looking styled with minimal effort. The diffuser takes 8-10 minutes and the extra time is because I have to tame the front a little with some product after I am done drying. I let my daughter try it - she has much longer and thicker hair than me, but the diffuser took her about 8 minutes too, down from the 45+ minutes it normally takes her. Even better, I don’t feel the extreme heat or burning on my scalp that I have felt with other dryers and the noise, for me at least, is much more tolerable. I read a review that said the Dyson Supersonic is only worth it for people who wash and dry their hair every day, but I think the Dyson is also worth it for someone like me who had totally given up on blow drying and styling their hair. I have worn my hair down more times in the last three weeks than the last three years and for maybe the first time in my life I am enjoying my hair as an ā€œaccessoryā€ in a way that until now I was only able to do with trips to the salon. Early morning meeting? Last minute date night? No problem. I know I can wash my hair and be ready to go in literally minutes. Drying my hair now takes less time than washing it and getting dressed and the weird part is I actually look forward to doing it. I am sure this reads like a promotional review, but it is just so refreshing to spend money on something that truly does what it says it’s going to do that I felt I had to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. If I have to give a negative it’s the case, which looks gorgeous but is not very practical. The inserts are all cardboard and unless you want to spend more time taking your hair dryer out and putting it away than it takes to actually dry your hair, you will probably end up getting rid of those flimsy pieces pretty quickly. That means your beautiful, expensive hair dryer ends up getting shoved in the box on top or underneath of all the attachments and it is not a very practical or elegant solution. An option for a stand or wall mount instead of the expensive but not very helpful case would be great. Other than that, thanks Dyson, for a game changing product.

So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. So I finally decided to buy the new supersonic in this special edition color that looks nice once it was time to replace my old dryer and I absolutely do not regret it one bit. Yes, almost $600 for a hair dryer is quite a lot, but this special edition includes the newly restyled presentation case as well as 5 attachments-including due new flyaway attachment, which is every bit as impressive as dyson makes it out to be-and it came with a matching paddle brush and wide tooth comb. The colors are absolutely beautiful in this vinca blue and rose gold tone, and the presentation case is quite nice in the vinca blue as well. Being that it’s a dyson, it has an amazing motor inside to power the dryer, as well as dysons really cool air multiplier technology, not to mention it just looks super cool with the hollow end on it. It’s also far smaller than any other dryer, making it easier to work with. I absolutely love the way the attachments are magnetic and very easily and simply change out, and it also allows you to rotate any of the attachments however much you like so you can get the best angle and most ergonomic grip to tend to any part of your head/hair. The 12 different settings are really cool and helpful as well (there’s 3 speed settings and 4 heat settings that you can each set individually, as well as a dedicated cool shot button you can press at any time regardless of the heat setting you have it on to either set your hair style once finished or if you have a sensitive scalp and the heat is burning you and you need a quick break to cool off) I also love all the attachments so much, both for their individual functions as well as the way dyson made them so that they always stay cool and allow you to touch and grab and change them out at any time. I seriously I no idea how they managed to make the attachments heat proof like that, but it’s a great and held up feature for using this dryer, as you’ll most likely end up using multiple attachments every time you use it. And you’ve probably noticed the way they’re making a big deal out of the new flyaway attachment, but I can assure you that it’s warranted because it truly is every bit as impressive and innovative as they make it out to be. Yes, it looks a bit silly on there at first and it can be a bit awkward learning to use it for the first time, but within the very first ten seconds of using it for the first time ever, you’ll immediately see why dyson is so proud of it, because it does every single thing they claim it will and works as perfectly as they say and is as easy to use as they say. I thought it’d be an attachment I’d never use tbh, but it’s became an absolute must use attachment every time I use the dryer now because of how well it works. You literally can use just that one attachment alone to straighten your hair as well as their flat iron does, and it absolutely does hide all the flyaways and smooths your hair perfectly. It also does attract your hair just like they claim; idk how it does it, especially because there’s air blowing out of it, but it legit attracts your hair to it like a magnet and pulls the longer hairs in tighter to cover any flyaways. It’s a genius attachment. Also can be used to give a bit of shape to the ends of your hair if you want. It’s seriously super cool and I highly recommend buying that attachment if you have an older supersonic that you got before that attachment was created. It’s truly the best dryer on the market, but the attachments make it even better and allows it to do so much more, and it also is a beautiful work of art like all other dyson products. And again, it’s so much smaller than other dryers, making it far easier to work with and less prone to your arms getting tired from holding it up above your head for a while since it’s much shorter and doesn’t have to be held as far away as other dryers, and it’s far more lightweight and perfectly balanced too, further helping ergonomics on it. If you’re on rhe fence about it, just go ahead and get it; I promise you won’t regret it and you’ll wish you got it sooner. It’ll make drying and styling your hair so much easier and faster and better and you’ll get that perfect salon style every single day with this product. Not to mention the fact that it’s got a two year warranty like all other dyson products, even if you don’t buy it from dyson. Just register it with its serial number on the dyson site or MyDyson app (which also has lots of cool helpful features for dyson owners and I highly suggest the app too) and it’ll start your warranty as well as give you the owners manual for your product. It easily allows you to make a warranty claim, should you have an issue with your device, and it also easily lets you buy additional parts for your product, such as additional attachments or filters, presentation cases, stands, etc. Oh and also, if you buy any dyson product and register it to start it’s warranty, dyson also sends you exclusive 20% off coupon codes. They sent me 2 separate 20% off codes during December that I could use on almost any dyson product (which were already on sale for the holiday season) and they do that for all dyson owners a few times throughout the year. I just wish I’d have gotten the code before buying this supersonic because I could’ve gotten it for such a good deal 😩 but it’s still absolutely worth every single penny I spent on it, despite paying full price before they went on sale in December. I’m now seriously considering buying an airwrap just because of how well the supersonic is!

This is without a doubt the best blow dryer out there. It is soooo worth all the hype it gets. It's such a pleasure to use! Because it is super powerfull and yet super silent, it blow dryes your hair like nothing else, super fast while making it super soft, silky shine, gives you volume while eliminating all the frizz and flyaways, and the best part of all is that it does it without damaging your hair! No smoke, no burnt smell, it never gets to that crazy heat point, I can see how there is so much technology invested in this product because I can get a beautifull smooth straight blow dry with the medium heat in 10 min, something I could never do before, I always had to use the max heat level to be able to get it to smooth straight and it ended up damaging my hair, ...Ā MoreThis is without a doubt the best blow dryer out there. This for me is worth every penny because it's an investement in my hair's health. I have an air purifier in my bedroom because where I live the quality of the air is terrible. The air quality has an indicator from 001 micrograms/cm3 (perfectly clean air) to 600+ micrograms/cm3 (nasty air), when I my previous blow dryer after 15 min my air purifier whent from 001 micrograms/cm3 to 600+ micrograms/cm3, with the Dyson supersonic hair dryer it goes from 001 micrograms/cm3 to 60 micrograms/cm3 and the light it's still green, which means the air is clean enough. That for me told me that what Dyson claims about it checking the temperature 30 timer per min and it not burning your hair at all, it's real. Best money I've spent this year.PS: I got the european version sold in Sephora Spain to be able to use it in Chile where I live. The US version doesn't work here.

Having used multiple hair dryers over the years, I recently bought the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer on sale from Best Buy, and it's quite a game-changer in the realm of haircare tools. Here’s a detailed review comparing it with other hair dryers in the market:* Design and Build: The design of the Dyson Supersonic is strikingly different from conventional hair dryers. The handle is sleek, and the absence of a long nozzle gives it a futuristic look. It feels balanced in the hand due to the motor placement in the handle.* Performance & Drying Time: It dries hair remarkably faster than many regular hair dryers. The powerful V9 digital motor combined with Air Multiplierā„¢ technology ensures a high-velocity jet of controlled air, leading to quick drying without extreme heat.* Noise Level: One of the standout features is the acoustically tuned design. While it isn't silent, it's noticeably quieter than many competitors, which is a plus if you're trying to have a conversation or listen to something while drying your hair.* Heat Settings & Attachments: There are multiple heat and speed settings, making it suitable for different hair types. Magnetic attachments, like the diffuser and styling concentrator, are a fantastic touch, making it easier to switch between them.* Hair Health: Dyson emphasizes preventing extreme heat damage with built-in heat protection sensors. After a month of use, I noticed less frizz and more shine, suggesting that it's gentler on the hair compared to cheaper models that might fry your hair.* Price: The elephant in the room! The Dyson Supersonic is notably more expensive than many other hair dryers on the market. While the features are impressive, the price might be prohibitive for some.* Comparison with Other Brands: When compared with standard drugstore hair dryers, there’s no contest in terms of performance. The Dyson is superior. But when placed next to professional salon-grade dryers, while it holds its own, the price difference becomes a more significant factor to consider.*Final Verdict: The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is an investment. If you prioritize hair health, reduced drying time, and innovative design, it might be worth the splurge. However, if you're budget-conscious, there are other less pricey, professional-quality hair dryers in the market that might suit your needs.

Brilliant - especially new attachments

I ordered a Supersonic when it was first launched with just 3 attachments and my hair was still quite short. I really didn't find any difference from my existing Fransen Professional hairdryer that I'd had for nearly 40 years and was still going strong, so I returned the Supersonic.I've now decided to grow my hair: This is going to be a bit of a nightmare as it's naturally wavy, very thick and coarse - classic Celtic red hair. When I let it dry naturally, it takes most of the day and my faithful Fransen, which only has a concentrator nozzle and a diffuser attachment is definitely about to conk out! When I saw that this now had the additional attachments, I decided to give it another try. I chose this option over the slightly less expensive nickel/black/fuchsia item, as this came with the storage case.So what's the verdict this time around - brilliant! On my old hairdryer I had to use the highest heat/speed setting to get my still very short hair dry; it took about 30 minutes and left my hair really frizzy, so then I needed loads of product before and after drying to get any smoothness or definition. With the Supersonic, I used the lowest heat/speed setting and was done in under 10 minutes. I tried both the 'gentle dry' ripple attachment and the wide comb to finger dry the roots without blowing all the wave out of my hair, followed by the diffuser for just a few minutes to take most of the water out, then left it a bit damp to finish air drying naturally, which only took about another hour as opposed to most of the day if I'd just towel dried it and left it.The only attachment that I've not yet used is the smoothing one, which I may not need, but you never know!My hair is now the shiniest and softest it's ever been - even when left to airdry. The texture also has more definition and as my hair is growing the waves are turning into defined curls.Yes, this is expensive, but it's worth every penny!

Excellent dryer

The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer works wonderfully. With my regular dryer, I could spend about half an hour just trying to get it relatively dry, and then I could spend another 20 - 40 minutes trying to get it straight and flat, which only could be achieved with a flat iron. With the Dyson hair dryer, it only took half an hour to get dry, straight, flat hair. The new flyaway attachment is awesome. It helps me to get rid of all the fluffy, fuzzy little hairs, but it also made the whole length of the hair to be flat. Frizz was gone, efficiently and easily. The takeaway of all this is that the time of exposure to heat is cut to more than half and with better results. My hair is wavy, but if I treat it with a curly cream and dry it using a diffuser I can get it quite ...Ā MoreThe Dyson Supersonic hair dryer works wonderfully. The takeaway of all this is that the time of exposure to heat is cut to more than half and with better results. My hair is wavy, but if I treat it with a curly cream and dry it using a diffuser I can get it quite curly. With the Dyson diffuser attachment, my hair got dry, really dry, very quickly and the curls looked fabulous. With my regular hair dryer, I was only able to get the dampness out, but it was never really dry, thus the weight of the water that was still in my hair would make the curls stretch out and by the time it got completely dry the shape of the curls was gone. To get the finish I got with the Dyson in only 20 minutes (maybe less than that) I would need to keep drying my hair for at least 45 minutes or more before it was really dry, and then the final result would be a big fluff of frizzy hair.I think is quite pricey. Hopefully, it will last for a long long time.Shipping was very quick even though it was delayed for a bit.

Great curls so far!

I purchased this supersonic hair drier about a month ago. I have naturally fine long curly hair which is now getting a little thinner at the front and parting line. I would say that I am still getting used to this different drying experience so my review is based on short term use. I bought this to use with the diffuser attachment only. I do not straighten my hair.so do not intend to use the other attachments that came with it. I would definately recommend that before using the drier that you watch the video on the Dyson website or other similar ones on line which help with technique and the use of products. You will then get a better result . I wish I had done this before my first use as after watching the tutorial I found the results much better than just guessing ...Ā MoreI purchased this supersonic hair drier about a month ago. You will then get a better result . I wish I had done this before my first use as after watching the tutorial I found the results much better than just guessing what to do. As I have fine hair I find that I need to have the heat setting either on cool or on the first heat setting as I do feel that unless I do this ,for me it is too hot for my scalp which was initially a concern for me. Again it is practice and now I adjust the position of the drier whilst having the diffuser attachment connected. I find that I can use the diffuser to lift my hair for a bit more volume. I have found already that my hair feels softer and my curls are not frizzy and are more defined than with my previous drier and diffuser. The drying time is amazingly quick. I also like the magnetic attachments which is so easy and the weight of the drier. As I am still a newbie to this product and still getting used to it I have not given it 5 stars. For me the only negative thing is the heat setting. I appreciate a lot of research and testing has gone into this product having read about it on the Dyson website but there is no way with my hair that I could have it on a higher heat setting. So far I am happy with the drier and would recommend it. * This is an honest customer opinion and not sponsored* :-)

Life changing!!!

I’m writing this review to highly recommend the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. My boyfriend got it for me as a birthday gift, and I am absolutely blown away by it.I have long, thick hair, and I used to dread blow drying it because it would take so long and my arm would get tired. But the Dyson Supersonic is so lightweight that I can hold it for as long as I need to without getting fatigued. The Dyson Supersonic also dries my hair much faster than any other hair dryer I have ever used. It is the best hair dryer I have ever used, and it has made my life so much easier. If you are looking for a lightweight, powerful, and versatile hair dryer, then I highly recommend the Dyson Supersonic. Waste of money, doesn’t last
16 May 2023

I’ve had my Dyson blow dryer for a little over three years, and for the last year it’s been giving me issues. For the last few months I was cleaning the filter after EVERY CLIENT just to keep it running. Then, a week ago it finally bit the dust. Three years old and it’s done for. I was diligent about cleaning the filter and taking good care of my investment, thinking it would last at least five years, maybe even 10, like some have reported. Even if I hadn’t cleaned the filter regularly, that’s a pretty finnicky blow dryer - I’ve had (significantly) less expensive ones take a heck of a lot more abuse than that and last a decade! It goes to show that price does not equal quality. Also, while I had it, it wasn’t life changing. It goes to show that price does not equal quality. Also, while I had it, it wasn’t life changing. Its best two features are the magnetic attachments, and that it’s quiet. It doesn’t really dry hair faster, or get it smoother than any other professional blow dryer. So there’s that for whatever it’s worth.Needless to say I’m highly disappointed, and will not be buying a new Dyson, and it’s likely that I’ll never buy a Dyson anything, ever. When I called customer service, they were pleasant, but there was nothing they could do for me, as my warranty has expired and they don’t repair hair care products. I’m leaving this review as a cautionary tale to anyone on the fence. It’s one in a sea of many, but I hope it can help someone.
