Best hoover I have bought

I bought this hoover after reading all the reviews and I can honestly say I made the best decision to buy it.It is so easy to use and has great suction. I love it being cordless as it has enough charge to do my stairs, hall and 2 bedrooms on one charge. It glides easily and the separation of the top part to do the stairs is easy to do and makes stair hoovering more enjoyable. All the tools it comes with are great for doing ceiling/corner cobwebs, couch, fabrics and car with bonus of no plug needed as no cable.Easy to empty and handy with the wall mount as keeps it all tidy but accessible to use daily.Positive comment - my son actually hoovers his room now as he likes the ease of hoover. Good storage for hoover and all tools.Just a few negatives but only for certain people:when separating top to hoover stairs it is slightly heavy to hold and if like me your wrists are not strong it can be a little uncomfortable so I take breaks and put it down. Also as you have to keep the button held down again if you do not have strength can be tiring on hands holding one position for a while and again I rest and stretch my hands/wrists out every so often. The motorised heads don’t have anti wrap hair technology so you need to keep on top of removing hairs unfortunately.Having said all that would definitely recommend this hoover and as my first stick cordless hoover I have purchased thought it was worth money and love it.

It has handled it perfectly, the motorised head picks up any cat hair and fluff ingrained into the carpet with ease. The max suction is great for stuff that’s really worked it’s way in and I found myself using that setting a lot for the first few days when I was getting at things my old vacuum couldn’t, but I generally use the normal setting now and it’s more than enough. I used to be a Dyson fan and then they became over expensive and didn’t last long. I switched to another brand and I’ve been more than happy with that until now. My upright hoover was a budget tru pet version which was heavy but I thought it was still sucking up well until I tried this. I have two cats and three dogs - two of the dogs shed constantly. I have mainly hard floors in living areas with carpets in the bedrooms. My dyson arrived yesterday and once it was charged I hoovered a light bedroomed house on a single charge with loads left. It’s great to take from room to room and goes right under the furniture. It also sucks right up to the skirting which my other doesn’t as well as picks up bigger items rather than just push them around the room a bit. I only used the normal suction as the max suction stuck to the floor almost it was that powerful. Yes you have to empty it a lot if you have heavy traffic to clean up after but never again will I go back to a corded vacuum and this is powerful enough to use as the main vacuum not just a quick tidy around. Loads of onboard attachments including pet head. Honestly I’m such a picky person and I love it.

Firstly I want to start with the fact I've had my previous dyson for 10 years. No issues. It's been brilliant. With a growing family - 2 young kids - and a dog, wanted to upgrade to something that was cordless and much quicker and convenient to use. The first few months were great no issues at all. The charging time isn't an issue. Although its 40 minutes you can get most of the house done and battery life has been maintained over the last 18 months. The biggest issue by far is the quality of the filter. It's terrible. Even after its been cleaned and followed the maintenance instructions. Its now at the point where after a full charge and a filter clean it wont do a full clean of the house before it needs cleaning again. It's pointless. We've reverted back to our old dyson as we can rely on it. We've had the issue for probably 8 months but don't have time to sit on hold for 90 min -120 min wait times on weekends to get through to someone in customer service. It's an expensive product and overall really disappointed with the degrading quality after such a short space of time. When it works for a short period of time its great a picking up dog hair but not suitable for a busy family life when you need to rely on it.

My trusty purple dirt eater
5 July 2023

My Dyson never fails to deliver. This is my 3rd Dyson cordless stick vacuum. I purchased this one for the home of a friend. Im staying in the home this summer. The empty function is a bit different on this one but this empty version seems to eliminate the dirt fuzz that used to be left sticking to the insides of the canister. I hope it performs as well as the ones Ive used before. So far we are getting along just fine. If this unit is used, it looks like its brand new & performs accordingly.

Terrible battery and customer service

Ok so this worked ok - ok not brilliant, but I like the cordless so made up for the rest, and Ive always had Dysons so know what to expect. However the battery, which was working perfectly, has just completely stopped with no warning or slowing down over time. I spoke to customer services, they said it’s out of warranty which I knew, it’s almost 3 years old. However, customer services said to me if it was only a year out of warranty I could have a discounted battery, but the person said I was 2 years out of warranty. I’m actually just over 11 months out of warranty, the persons maths were terrible and he actually thought if it runs out end of December 2021 that that is 2 years ago?!I’m pretty sure we are currently in 2022!Time to look for a new brand without ... MoreOk so this worked ok - ok not brilliant, but I like the cordless so made up for the rest, and Ive always had Dysons so know what to expect. However the battery, which was working perfectly, has just completely stopped with no warning or slowing down over time. The Best Dyson Cordless in my opinion
15 March 2021

I have owned this Dyson Animal since they first came out and have never been disappointed with its performance so much so I just bought another one with QVC as they appear to be getting a little rare to find or being out of stock a lot and I want to make sure I never have to get by without my V8.I live in a small flat and on a full charge I can use the handheld on the curtains/sofa which includes removing any cat hair followed by hoovering the carpets in the room/bedroom then the hard floors in the kitchen and bathroom and usually after that there is still charge to spare unless I needed to run it on the highest setting for some reason for a while which does drain the battery faster.Occasionally I use one charge for a full clean around the ceiling/walls curtains ... MoreI have owned this Dyson Animal since they first came out and have never been disappointed with its performance so much so I just bought another one with QVC as they appear to be getting a little rare to find or being out of stock a lot and I want to make sure I never have to get by without my V8.I live in a small flat and on a full charge I can use the handheld on the curtains/sofa which includes removing any cat hair followed by hoovering the carpets in the room/bedroom then the hard floors in the kitchen and bathroom and usually after that there is still charge to spare unless I needed to run it on the highest setting for some reason for a while which does drain the battery faster.Occasionally I use one charge for a full clean around the ceiling/walls curtains and the cat bed if it is particularly hairy and then charge again for a hoover around but it does not take a lot of time to recharge even if you need an extra charge to get all your cleaning done.It is excellent for cleaning up cat hair even from areas where there might be more hair than normal plus I have long hair and it picks that up fine too although the hair needs cleaning from the roller occasionally like all vacuums do. It also works fine on cat litter but I do use it on the highest setting for that as it is more efficient. I empty the bin after every use as it's really quick and easy. It's also fab when there is a spill of anything that needs an instant clean up as turning the hoover into a handheld is quick and easy too.I think the hoover runs better by regular cleaning of the 2 filters which I clean around once a month to make sure I never put a damp filters back in the machine by mistake I bought 2 spares just to be sure.I never tried the Dyson 10 because of all the negative reports but when QVC had a sale on the 11 I was eager to try it out but unfortunately I had to send it back as it was too heavy for me (I have Arthritis) and the bin would just not work properly no matter what I tried soThe weight of this hoover is 2.56 KG as opposed to 3.01 KG for the 11 which sounds nothing in the scheme of things but the 11 felt so much heavier, bulkier and harder to navigate so I decided to stick with the V8 going forward as this is a perfect hoover for anyone with Arthritis or for someone who has no strength to pull a weighty hoover around. The only other Hoover I have owned that I would say is better was my Miele cat and dog hoover which was fab but i could no longer drag a corded 7KG hoover all over the house anymore plus after years of using a cordless I really don't want to go back to corded anymore.I would hate to find myself without the hoover and recommend it wholeheartedly..

Useless for pet hair - don't waste your money
21 April 2022

We bought this 'animal' cordless dyson as we own two springer spaniels. They are only allowed in the kitchen and utility room (laminate flooring); the rest of the house is carpeted. The vacuum is fine on ordinary non-pet carpets. However, the minute you try and vacuum up some dog hairs from the laminate floor, the vacuum ceases to work. The smallest amount of dog hair clogs the gap going into the collecting bucket. You have to constantly take the long tube off and the collecting bucket to try and tweeze out the clogged up hair. Also, as someone else has stated, the lowest setting is useless for picking up the smallest bits of dust - you end up chasing them around the floor! Despite cleaning the filter after each use, the filter light goes on as soon as you hit a bit ... MoreWe bought this 'animal' cordless dyson as we own two springer spaniels. V8 Total Clean
18 June 2023

Wow!!! Suction is fantastic, my cats are shedding fur/cat hair as it’s summer time, used my good old Henry for years through out the house, standing on stairs pipe in one hand hoover in other, being mindful of the cable then unplugging from downstairs as can only hoover a few steps, no more struggling to carry hoover up and down stairs.Dyson V8 total clean Wow!! Cat hairs gone to see dust collect even after being hoovered before with a Henry hoover then the Dyson V8 total clean was an eye opener, all that dust. Easy to use hand held smaller hoover on the stairs no more struggling. It’s light weight. Emptying it is very easy. Love the attachments that come with it ie hard floor a hair detangle tool &other various attachments. Happy.
