I had a Dyson V7 for many years and it never lost suction but I wanted to upgrade to a V 8 which I did and it is perfect. Those who doubt? Vacuum your floor or carpets with your old vacuum then use the Dyson and you will see all the dirt and pet hair your vacuum missed. I only have 1 issue. I purchased this Dyson V 8. I paid full price 399.00 on Oct 12th.. it was delivered Oct 15th but then I saw the Sam's ad that says as of Nov 7 it goes on sale for 100.00 off original price. I called Sam's and asked if I qualify for this discount and the would not honor it because it was over 14 days from the time I purchased it BUT it's not my fault that the sale date occurred on Nov 7th. I purchased the first model of this style years ago. I was underwhelmed with it but it was very convenient to use. I opted to get this newer model and the updates are a big improvement. Battery life is longer, they changed how to empty the bin (which was my largest complaint with my old one) and floor beater bar is vastly improved where hair does not wrap around it. This type of vacuum is meant for quick clean ups. I like the convenience of grabbing it to pick up loose dog food, pet hair, grab a cobweb in the corner, etc. I use my canister vac for my weekly clean. This is an expensive vacuum and may not be for everyone as I feel, it is not meant to be your main vacuum. I buy Dyson because they last for many years. The cons are that this model comes with an extra attachment, but there is no place for it on the caddy. It is nice to have an extra tool but if you have to toss it in a bin or cupboard somewhere, it is going to get forgotten or not used. The mounting bracket seems flimsy compared to the first model I had.

I love Dyson, and this vacuum was supposed to be a great addition to the family! However, from the start it was the black sheep, never working correctly always clogging and finally just stopping charging. I finally figured out that the mechanism that connects the vacuum to the wall mount was broken....unfortunately it was outside the return date. Dyson the company I love so much wanted me to find a REPAIR place to bring the Vacuum to. Where I live there are three, TX has three LOL, the closest one was 5 hours from my house. When I told them there was no way I could afford to drive 5 hours and stay in town while they spent DAYS fixing my vacuum that I paid nearly $800 for....they told me that was all they could do for me. So I have a broken vacuum, and a broken relationship with Dyson...and kind of with QVC for that matter. I don't think I will be buying another Dyson vacuum from QVC because I feel like I did not get what I paid for. I would not recommend buying this vacuum for lots of reasons, most of them brought up by other people...the attachments leave stuff in them, dropping the stuff back on the ground when the vacuum turns off...for a "PET VAC" it certainly does not like HAIR, constantly clogging when pet hair is picked up...the filter is a constant hassle, needly cleaning with water after EVERY CLEAN or you risk the motor getting to hot and making this odd noise....I just think overall this was a prototype vac that they have improved upon with other vacuums and they made a LOT of money off of us SHEEP who bought the DYSON NAME....

Took delivery of our new Dyson V8, our first time with a Dyson Vac, having been more than pleased with our other Dyson products. Initial impressions: Excellent suction on standard even more so on high. Easy to use and interchangeable tools ideal. However, you will definitely need to use the stand provided and Mr Dyson please note, it won’t stand on its own, so, if you need to leave it unattended it falls over, or in my case into and breaking a nearby vase. Trigger on switch, while easy enough to use, I was on the receiving end of blistered finger after the first half hour of use. On the plus side the battery lasted more than long enough to do the whole home. On the plus side the battery lasted more than long enough to do the whole home. Notwithstanding the issues mentioned, it is the only vac that has managed to get all the cat hair off our rugs, it is light, nimble and simple to use. Let’s see how things go in the long run.
I bought this vacuum 11-6-22. Loved it at first. Great power and great suction. I have had it four months and it is almost useless. I never use the "max" power option. I am just trying to run it around on our hard wood floors. I only get the dining room finished and it was out of battery life. It does not maintain suction. When I let go of the trigger, it leaves a line of dirt on the floor that it can't hold on to. I have checked the filters and made sure it isn't plugged with any debris. Extremely disappointed to have an expensive machine that lasted such a short period of time.
I purchased this vacuum after a lot of research and reviewing several brands. I've always wanted a Dyson and had enough reward points to purchase this vacuum at a low cost out of pocket. This vacuum is lightweight, much lighter than my last cordless. Trigger must be held down to operate but that doesn't bother me. I have no rugs, so this vacuum is used only on hardwood and tile floors. I've seen reviews that you can only use it on high suction, but I don't have that problem. I always use it on the normal setting and the only time I need to turn the suction up is near the litterbox or under furniture. You cannot vacuum up large debris due to the profile of the vacuum head, unless you are using the small attachments for furniture. You cannot vacuum up large debris due to the profile of the vacuum head, unless you are using the small attachments for furniture. For me, this is nice because I don't have to worry about sucking up cord, socks or plugging up the vacuum. I have 2 dogs and 2 long haired cats, and I have not had any issues with tangling on the vacuum head which is a huge plus. Easy to empty the dirt canister as well. I received 4 attachments but the wall charger that holds your attachments only hold 3. Poor design or I was sent an extra attachment by accident. The brush attachments are basically useless as the bristles are too soft to loosen hair or anything else on your furniture so the vacuum can get it. I did run into an issue that a lot of other people seemed to have in the reviews. One day I went to use the vacuum and it lasted half of the normal time. The next time I went to use it, it kept surging. Turning on for a second, then off, then on. I ended up figuring out the vacuum was plugged up where the dirt goes into the canister. It was easy to unclog and since then it has worked fine. As of now, I would buy again.
My refurbished looks brand new, this is the 2nd refurbished I bought on eBay and my first one worked for about 6 yrs. I cant say anything negative about the vacuum its exactly what I expect from Dyson. I have taken 1 star away because I dont love love the way the cup opens to dump the stuff. It is much different than my other dyson and I hope that isnt why this one is heavily discounted. The other thing I didnt expect is there is no hard floor cleaning head. Its just the roller brush for carpet. I can honestly say I used the hard floor attachment 95% of the time and now I dont have that option as my other attachments for the V6 do not fit this model.
I purchased my first Dyson in 2017, and had zero complaints(still in use) , until the battery started to die last year. I paid last $500 for it and it’s worth every penny.I recently purchased this as areplacement, at nearly half the price, how could I go wrong. Well, it IS a great vacuum in a whole. Compared to my original, it’s lacking. First thing I noticed is it doesn’t turn as well as my original, not a big deal. This one also is hard to push on my carpet, not a dealbreaker but annoying. Lastly I noticed that it is starting to leave lines on my hardwood floors. Even with the lightest force, still lines. The comes off with elbow grease but it is not worth the extra work.So
I am sadly disappointed with my purchase of the Dyson V8 motorhead. I had hoped it would’ve been as powerful as my corded Dyson. I do like the fact that it has two Power modes, however using the high power mode wears the battery down much quicker. I really don’t see how it would last 45 minutes. I also like that it came with three attachments. I am not a fan of having to press the switch to keep it running… I would’ve much rather had an on and off switch. It hurts my hand after a short while applying the power switch. But the biggest disappointment is the brush attachment is not power driven. What a disappointment it was to try and vacuum dog hair off of a pillow and the brush would just quit every time I tried. It will work on a bare floor or my area rugs but again ... MoreI am sadly disappointed with my purchase of the Dyson V8 motorhead. I had hoped it would’ve been as powerful as my corded Dyson. One would think that something costing almost $400 would be a better piece of equipment with a motor driven brush head. This vacuum cost more than a corded Dyson. I’m thinking of returning this vacuum.
I bought the Dyson V8 Stick Vacuum for vacuuming the floors of our small beach house. It was very easy to use and cleaned the floor in half the time of the old vacuum due to its maneuverability and lightness. The next day I bought a second Dyson V8 Stick Vacuum for my main house. It also does the job in half the time of the old vacuum. The best part about the vacuum is that it has a detangling head which means that long hair and dog hair don't get wrapped around the head like they do in other vacuums. I bought both the vacuums in the Black Friday sale at Noel Leeming, as they were almost half price! I'd recommend this product to anyone who wants a lightweight, easy to use vacuum.
